We can highly recommend Go2Africa! We have recently been to Botswana and Zimbabwe, a trip of a lifetime. The end 2 end service provided by Go2Africa (Natasha) has been exceptional. The support in finding the perfect fit for us has been outstanding. All our questions were answered with passion. Both service by e-mail and phone were polite, professional and fast. Adjustments to better suit our budget were made instantly. We always had the right amount of choices incl. the expert advise. Once the booking was done we were updated regularly about topics that should prepare us for the trip. The trip itself was incredibly smooth. All camp transfers by air and ground were on time and an experience in itself. We enjoyed all the camps we stayed in, especially Gunn's and Pom Pom in Botswana's Okavango Delta. Once again thanks to Natasha @Go2Africa for her perfect support!

Itinerary

Day 1: Travel into the Okavango Delta

Accommodation: Fairlawns Boutique Hotel

Fly from Johannesburg to Maun Airport and catch your charter flight to Eagle Island Camp, situated in a private concession deep within the Okavango Delta and bordering Chief's Island. Spend the afternoon settling into your tented accommodation before enjoying sundowners at the bar and becoming acquainted with this spellbinding wilderness.

Day 2: Explore the Okavango Delta

Accommodation: Belmond Eagle Island Lodge

Today will be spent on various safari activities to view the abundant wildlife of the Delta. The largest inland freshwater delta in the world, the Okavango Delta is home to both an incredible density and variety of animals. Keep an eye out for rare antelope, predators and some of the Delta's most sought-after bird species.

One particularly thrilling experience is gliding through the Delta's intricate network of channels by mokoro (dug-out canoe) - giving you an eye-level view of this unique environment.

Day 3: Relax at Khwai River Lodge

Accommodation: Belmond Eagle Island Lodge

A charter flight will take you to the Belmond Khwai River Lodge, situated on the fringes of the Okavango Delta and overlooking the Khwai River floodplain and the Moremi Game Reserve. The afternoon can be spent reading in the library, pampering yourself with spa treatments, or exploring this beautiful area on a game drive or guided walking safari.

Day 4: Meet the Okavango locals

Accommodation: Belmond Khwai River Lodge

Today is once again dedicated to searching for Botswana's legendary big game. Go on guided walks to get close to nature, enjoy game drives with knowledgable guides and do a little bit of bird watching right in camp. You could also get in touch with local communities on a visit to a nearby village to learn about the region's various cultures and lifestyles.

Day 5: Relax beside the Savute Channel

Accommodation: Belmond Khwai River Lodge

Today you will board a charter flight to Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge in the famous Chobe National Park. Relax on the large viewing deck with a drink in hand and gaze over the now-flowing Savute Channel where thirsty animals come for a drink. Spend a quiet evening in the traditional boma and enjoy a delicious meal while gazing at the stars above.

Day 6: Get close to elephants

Accommodation: Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge

As the camp's name suggests, this area is home to large herds of elephant. Go on game drives to view them up close, but also keep an eye out for the resident prides of lions, packs of hyenas and the rare African wild dog. Alternatively, join an excursion to view original San rock paintings on one of the hills that dot this flat landscape.

Day 7: Return to Johannesburg

Accommodation: Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge

Today you will board a charter flight to Maun and catch your connecting flight back to Johannesburg. On arrival you will be transferred to the stunning Fairlawns Boutique Hotel where you will spend a relaxing evening after your safari.

Days 8-10: Meander with Rovos to Cape Town

Accommodation: Rovos Rail

After a delicious breakfast you'll be transferred to Capital Park Station, the home of Rovos Rail in Pretoria. Offering a most elegant way to enjoy the dynamic scenery of South Africa, this luxury train journey will contrast strikingly with your Botswana safari experience.

Settle into your cabin and sit back for two days of meandering through the South African countryside, relaxing in the viewing lounge, enjoying gourmet meals in the restaurant car or catching up on some sleep as you make your lazy way to Cape Town.

Day 11: Arrive in the Mother City

Enjoy one more breakfast on the train before it arrives in Cape Town around late morning. Here you'll be met and transferred to the timelessly elegant Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel - famous around the world for its pink-painted buildings and colonial ambience.

Days 12-14: Explore the vibrant Cape Town

Accommodation: Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel

The city of Cape Town is simply bursting with things to see and do over the next few days: take the cable car up iconic Table Mountain and view the city and surrounding mountains from above, enjoy a trip to historic Robben Island or venture out to the nearby Cape Winelands to sample some world-class wine. With so many beautiful beaches to choose from, a trip to one of these is definitely recommended. A visit to the V&A Waterfront is also a wonderful way to do a bit of shopping and enjoy seafood while you look out over the harbour.

Day 15: Reach the end of this adventure

Accommodation: Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel

Enjoy one last morning activity in the Mother City before your tour comes to an end. If you would like to extend this itinerary, contact your Go2Africa African Safari Expert for advice and help with arranging a further adventure.
