Check into your accommodation, then start exploring the city! Enjoy your first meal of bratwurst and German beer in a frosty mug.

Day 2: Berlin

Activate your 48-hour hop-on/hop-off bus tour of Berlin, which takes you across the city highlights from the Brandenburg Gate to Checkpoint Charlie.

Spend some time at the Berlin Wall Memorial, which extends 0.8 miles along Bernauer Strasse. The memorial contains the last piece of the Berlin Wall with the preserved grounds behind it, a chapel, escape tunnels, and a monument.

End the day with a romantic stroll over the Oberbaum Bridge and the River Spree, making sure to stop to admire the beautiful Berlin Cathedral.

Berlin Yellow Line Hop-on/Hop-off City Tour (48-hour ticket)

Discover Berlin with the City Circle Yellow tour and make the most of your Berlin adventure with this time- saving hop-on hop-off tour. You will see all the main attractions and landmarks around the city at which you can hop on and off at leisure. The yellow double-decker buses leave approximately every 10-15 minutes (depending on the season) from each of the 18 hop-on hop-off locations, and you can plan your individual sightseeing tour.

Day 3: Berlin

Continue using your hop-on/hop-off pass today, making stops at Berlin's famous attractions. Pose for a photo at Brandenburg Gate, built in 1791 and symbolizing German reunification.

Then head to Reichstag, Germany's parliament and one of its most iconic buildings. Its most distinctive feature, the glittering glass dome, is serviced by a elevator and offers fabulous 360-degree city views.

End the day at Museumsinsel (Museum Island), Berlin's most important treasure trove, spanning 6000 years' worth of art, artifacts, sculpture and architecture from Europe and beyond.

Day 4: Berlin – Frankfurt

Accommodation: Hotel Bristol

Say goodbye to Berlin as you head to the train station for your train south to Frankfurt! Upon arrival in Frankfurt, check into your accommodation then spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Frankfurt, located on the river Main, is a major financial hub that's home to the European Central Bank. Head to Altstadt (Old Town) and stroll through Romerburg square. In December, the square hosts Frankfurt's famous Christmas Market!

Train to Frankfurt!

Day 5: Frankfurt

Today, enjoy a 2-hour city tour taking you to Frankfurt's highlights from Altstadt to St. Paul's Church.

After the tour, consider a visit to Goethe House, the former home of writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe whose famous works include "Faust" and "The Sorrows of Young Werther."

Frankfurt is home to an exciting array of world-class museums including Stadel Museum, which holds an outstanding collection of European art from masters including Durer, Rembrandt, Rubens, Renoir, Picasso and Cézanne.

Frankfurt Guided City Tour (2 hours)

Enjoy a city sightseeing tour and discover the diversity of historic and modern Frankfurt. You'll see the most important sights of the former Coronation city of the German Emperors and the modern European Banking Center. See one of the largest European rail stations, the Museum Embankment, European Central Bank and the banking quarter with its skyscrapers - among them the biggest office buildings in Europe.

Walk across the historic heart of the city called "Römer" - the famous old city hall, Paul's Church, and the Cathedral. See the "Hautpwache" - former headquarters of the city's Stadtwehr militia, the shopping street "Zeil," the Old Opera, the big towers of the former city wall, and the international fairgrounds.

Day 6: Frankfurt

Leave Frankfurt and journey approx. 2 hrs to the fairy tale town of Rothenburg on a guided tour! Considered Germany's best-preserved walled town, Rothenburg is flanked by half-timbered buildings and cobblestone alleys.

Full-day tour to Rothenburg (8.5 hours)

Enjoy a journey back in time to the best-preserved medieval town in Germany! The tour leads you to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, located high above the Tauber River Valley on Germany's Romantic Road. Begin with a sightseeing walk through the picturesque old lanes and the castle gardens, then head to St. Jacobs Church with the wood carved altar by Tilman Riemenschneider. Marvel at the half-timbered houses, city gates, and the mighty Renaissance Town Hall.

During your leisure time, visit the fascinating Medieval Crime Museum, Doll and Toy Museum, German Christmas Museum, and much more. Rothenburg also offers great souvenir-shopping opportunities. Buy carvings, wine glasses, Christmas tree ornaments and all kind of traditional handicrafts. Enjoy a traditional German meal and don't forget to try a "Schneeball," a local fried dough ball with different toppings.

Day 7: Frankfurt – Munich

Accommodation: Hotel Regent

Check out of your accommodation and head to Frankfurt train station for your train to Munich! The capital of Bavaria is famous for its annual Oktoberfest and beer halls, Marienplatz square, and iconic cathedral.

After settling into your accommodation, head to Viktualienmarkt, a sprawling daily food market in the Old Town. Pick up some tasty treats, then take in the sights of nearby Marienplatz, always buzzing with activity.

Train to Munich!

Day 8: Munich

Activate your 24-hour hop-on/hop-off buss pass and see the city's highlights with ease. Make a stop at Hofbrauhaus, Munich's oldest beer hall dating back to the 16th century. Take a seat at one of the long wooden tables and enjoy a frosty beer and traditional Bavarian meal!

Later, head to Residenz, Munich's number one attraction. Home to Bavaria's Wittelsbach rulers from 1508 until WWI, the former palace turned museum is a gilded royal wonderland.

Day 9: Munich

Leave Munich today for a full-day tour to two of Bavaria's enchanting castles, Neuschwanstein and Linderhof. Completed in 1886, they were the dream of King Ludwig II who unfortunately did not live long enough to see the castles opened.

Royal Castles of Neuschwanstein & Linderhof Tour

Hidden in the secluded Bavarian mountains, King Ludwig II built two of his dream castles: Neuschwanstein and Linderhof. This excursion shows you these two extraordinary places that live up to the vision of Bavaria’s Fairy Tale King.

Make a short stop in Oberammergau, then continue to the hilltop Neuschwanstein Castle that inspired Disney’s Sleeping Beauty castle! Spend approximately 4 hours exploring Neuschwanstein before traveling through scenic countryside to Linderhof, Ludwig’s rococo-style hunting lodge and last home with its fantastic grotto and Moorish pavilion.

* Please be aware that lunch and entrance fees are not included on this tour. You will have free time to visit the castles if you choose, and you may pay entrance fees on the spot once you arrive.

Day 10: Depart Germany

Your three-city German adventure ends today. At the appropriate time, head to Munich airport for your flight home.

When I booked with Great Value I was nervous because it seemed too good to be true. Nope, just a really great deal. I was able to take my dream trip to Ireland and Scotland and it was within my budget. Everything was covered, my lodging, flights, and rental car. There was no hidden fees, or fine print that would nickel and dime me later on, as "good deals" usually have. I also had to change the date of my trip and the customer service was excellent and this change was simple. Thank you Great Value, I'll be using you every time I travel from now on

Everything on the trip was excellent. The only concern with any services from GVV was initial communications ahead of the trip regarding when and how we'd receive all our travel vouchers, as some were available online, and some were to be picked up in country upon arrival. It took no less than 5 phone calls to learn some vouchers would be picked up in country. The trip was outstanding, exhausting, but gloriously beautiful. It was exhausting from the perspective of moving around the country and only a few places were 2 nights. But, we knew that going in, and we wanted to see ALL of Switzerland and this certainly checked those boxes. We saw majestic mountains, we saw countless waterfalls and glaciers. The trains in Switzerland were all clean and we felt safe. The hotels were good with delicious breakfasts each morning. Overall, I would recommend GVV to a friend or family member and I would personally book another vacation with GVV.

This was my first time planning a trip out of the country. I read previous reviews who had a good experience with Great Value Vacation. Our trip was amazing! The booking and reservations were easy to use with the vouchers provided. The staff was helpful. The only downside was I upgraded to have an automatic vehicle and they gave me a stick shift. It took a while to get sorted out but other than that I loved my trip! I will definitely use great value vacations again when I book my next trip. I opted for the additional wine tasting package and I did not regret it! I recommend adding those additional tours to get a more complete experience.

My wife and I recently booked our vacation through Great Value Vacations. We were a bit nervous to travel to Europe for the first time, but we are glad we did. Great Value Vacations took care of us. Great customer service. Seamless transactions. They booked the hotels and flights for us. All we had to worry about were the daily activities! I would highly recommended them. The hotels offered through the package were as advertised: nice and in great locations. The flights times were also convenient. The best part was the price. I am thankful for the experiences Great Value Vacation was able to provide for us!

Really enjoyed both of my trips

Really enjoyed both of my trips through Great Value Vacations. I went on one family trip to Ireland (Adare villa, rental car with trips out to Dublin, Cliffs of Moher and more) . The villa was very comfortable with a kitchen, three bedrooms, and proximity to the local shops /restaurants. We were able to upgrade to an automatic car and had fun navigating to each location on our itinerary. The trip as planned by the agency still leaves time for exploring on your own and since we picked a trip with our own transportation, we had flexibility on which tours we wanted to do and when.

My second trip was a solo trip to Scotland. I like to go on vacation by myself sometimes, but it can be hard to find ones where you aren’t penalized for being on your own. This train trip to Edinburgh, Inverness, and Glasgow worked out really well for me. The hotels were all near the train stations and in safe areas (good lighting, plenty of people, etc.). I got a good mix of options for sightseeing in each city. The hop-on, hop-off bus circuit was especially useful for getting around Edinburgh. I also added an extra tour on in Glasgow to see nearby castles and a distillery and was very glad to have done so as the views of the countryside were amazing!

Summary: Have enjoyed my previous experiences and would definitely use again

Just got back from our trip to Italy booked through Great Value Vacations & was our dream come true! We could not have gone if it were not for their unbelievable rates. Each 4 Star Villa we stayed at was above and beyond our expectations...I cried after leaving each part of our journey. I am so glad I took a leap of faith and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND booking with them. Besides the Villas being beautiful, great locations, clean, and great staff; each place we arrived at actually said, "They said to give you a very nice room." (with a rate of just under $1,900 a piece for 9 nights not counting travel days at 4 stars Villas in Rome, Tuscany, & Venice including airfare and rent a car... a few friends told us to expect the worst rooms at the places we were staying ~ NOT the case! Our rooms had the best views...I could go on and on. Every step of the way was smooth with no worries whatsoever. Thanks again GVV! LOVED IT!
