Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Vientiane

Meal: Dinner

Overnight: Vientiane

Warm welcome upon your arrival in Vientiane – Laos. Your guide will meet you at the airport for a transfer to your hotel located in the downtown.  After check in you will have free time to relax, then your guide see you again for a welcome dinner at the local restaurant.

Day 2: Vientiane full-day tour

Meal: Breakfast and Lunch

Overnight: Vientiane

Today you have a whole day to explore all the places of interest Vientiane has to offer including the oldest Wat Sisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues, the former Royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image, the famous That Luang Stupa and the Patuxay Monument. You also have an orientation tour  of the capital through the most historical sites and some of the French colonial architecture and enjoy the sunset by the Mekong River or visit the night market before back to hotel.

Day 3: Fly to Luang Prabang

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Overnight: Luang Prabang

You have a free time until your guide meet and transfer you to airport for a short flight to Luang Prabang where your local guide welcome and transfer to your hotel located in the downtown.  Luang Prabang is considered  the best-preserved traditional city the  Southeast Asia and one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos.  Free. At leisure. Your guide see you again for dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 4: Luang Prabang & Pak Ou caves

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Overnight: Luang Prabang

Early start will give you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (often in the form of sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique to Laos, it being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the ritual.

Today you take a boat trip upstream the Mekong River to visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by devoted pilgrim with a stop at the village of Ban Xanghai to taste Laos wiskey.  In the afternoon you  visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai before climbing up to the top of Mount Phousi  to enjoy a panorama view of Luang Prabang and the sunset on the Mekong River.  Dinner at a local restaurant and join in night market.

Day 5: Khouangsi Water-fall

Meal: Breakfast

Overnight: Luang Prabang

Today you drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest trails. Continue to visit the Ban Xangkhong, a village well known for its silk weavings and for its Saa (jute) Papermaking.  Back to the city to enjoy the sunset at the Wat Siphouthabath famous for the footprints of the Buddha.

Day 6: Fly to Hanoi

Meals: Breakfasts and Dinner

Overnight: Hanoi

Today you leave Laos for Hanoi, Vietnam. Your Vietnamese guide will meet you at the airport  and transfer to your hotel located in the downtown. After check in you have free time to relax, then your guide see you again for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Your day is be completed by a water puppet show – a unique art performance in Vietnam.

Day 7: Hanoi full-day tour

Meal: Breakfast and Lunch

Overnight: Hanoi

This full day tour offers you  Hanoi’s most interesting sights, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, House-on-Stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda followed by  QuanThanh Temple and  Tran Quoc pagoda, the oldest pagoda originally constructed in the sixth century.  For lunch you enjoy a Hanoi special dish “Cha Ca” at one of the most unique restaurants located in the Hanoi Old Quarter.  Afternoon you visit the Temple of Literature then having a walk around the Sword Lake and visit Ngoc Son Temple and enjoy a cup of Vietnamese coffee at a street-pub.

Day 8: Hoa Lu – Tam Coc Caves Excursion

Overnight: Hanoi

In the morning you leave Hanoi for Ninh Binh to visit Hoa Lu Ancient Capital and Tam Coc caves located in the Red River Delta. Your first stop is the Dinh-Le temples. These two temples are constructed by near the center of the old capital in order to honor Dinh Bo Linh, the first emperor of Vietnam and Le Dai Hanh who founded the Le Dynasty in the 10th and 11th centuries.  In the afternoon you take a sampan to explore the Tam Coc caves then have a bike riding to visit Bich Dong pagoda. Back to your hotel in Hanoi.

Day 9: Hanoi – Halong Bay

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Stay overnight: Traditional Junk

In the morning you leave Hanoi for Halong Bay via the Red River Delta. Enjoy welcome drink onboard then start cruising through Bai Tu Long Bay while lunch is served. Stop to visit and explore Vung Vieng fishing village by bamboo boat or you can have a kayak around Vung Vieng area. Time to relax, sunbath or swimming at Ban Chan Beach. Back to the junk to enjoy the sunset cocktail while the boat is cruising to Cong Do area docking for overnight.  BBQ dinner followed by some activities of board games or squid fishing.

Day 10: Night train to Lao Cai for Sapa

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Overnight: Train

Early bird with exercises with Tai chi on the sundeck then enjoy a light breakfast while cruising to Hon Co area. Stop to exploring  Thien Canh Son Cave, located at the centre of the World Heritage Area- Halong Bay. Return to the boat for check out and relaxing on sundeck or watching fruits carving demonstration or enjoy the last of the Ha Long Bay scenery over lunch as the boat is cruising back to shore. Rejoin your car for transfer  to Hanoi for dinner and night train to Lao Cai-Sapa.

Day 11: Lao Cai - Sapa

Overnight: Sapa

Early arrive in Lao Cai, a Vietnam-China border city. Meet you local driver for transfer you to your hotel located in Sapa town. Enjoy the North Vietnam mountainous area with its winding road, terrace rice fields and minority ethnic villages.  Time for relaxation or explore the mountainous town on your own (early check-in is subject to availability). Afternoon you have a short walking tour to visit the Cat Cat village – home of the H’Mong ethnic people located in the beautiful valley and learn about their unique customs and practices. Stop at the Cat Cat waterfall for some photo shots before returning to hotel. Enjoy dinner at local restaurant.

Day 12: Villages Tour - Night train to Hanoi

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Overnight: Train

You start the day with a soft trek along buffalo paths to the Ta van and Lao Chai, villages of the H’Mong and the Day ethnic peoples, through stunning scenery inhabited by some of the friendliest people you can meet. More time to learn about other ethnic community in Sapa. Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon your driver picks up you from the village and transfer you back to Sapa for a short break then to Lao Cai. Dinner at local restaurant then you catch a night train to Hanoi.

Day 13: Fly to Danang - Hoi An

Meal: Breakfast and Dinner

Overnight: Hoi An

Early arrive Hanoi in the morning, your driver meets  you at the station and offer you a drive to watch local people do morning exercise at the lakes or join in the morning flowers market before having a breakfast and a cup of coffee.  Transfer to airport for a short flight to Danang.  Local guide picks up and transfer to your hotel in Hoi An. Rest of the day is at leisure. Evening your guide see you again for a dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 14: My Son Ruins & Hoi An

Meal: Breakfast and Dinner

Overnight: Hoi An

In the morning you take a trip to discover the World Heritage My Son Ruins, comprised of seventy Hindu-like towers and temples dating from the 2nd century.  My Son was the former capital of the ancient Cham civilization that ruled Central Vietnam from the second to the thirteenth century and a must-see for those people who are interested in architecture and ancient civilizations. Afternoon you have a  walking tour to explore the Hoi An Ancient town with old houses, narrow streets, moss-grown walls, lantern makers and visit Japanese Covered Bridge, Chinese Assembly Halls, Handicraft workshop and enjoy traditional arts performance. Dinner with some famous dishes of the town.

Day 15: Hue Citadel Excursion

Meal: Breakfast and Lunch

Overnight: Hoi An

Today you have an excursion to explore Hue city and Hue Citadel. Your first stop is the Thien Mu pagoda, one of the oldest and prettiest religious buildings in the country. Continue drive to visit the king Minh Mang’s tomb. Lunch a local restaurant then you explore the Hue Citadel and the Forbidden city followed by Dong Ba market on a bank of the Perfume river – a paradise for snapshots of daily activities before drive back to Hoi An.

Day 16: Fly to Ho Chi Minh city

Meal: Breakfast and Dinner

Overnight: HCMC

Again you take an one-hour flight to Ho Chi Minh city, the most dynamic one where everyone seems busy riding, buying, selling, studying. However, the city’s core is still adorned with wide elegant boulevards and historic French colonial buildings.  In the afternoon you visit some famous attractions such as Reunification Palace, Municipal Theatre, City Post Office, Notre-Dame Cathedral and the War Remnants Museum then having a walk through the city downtown and end up at the Ben Thanh market, the city’s biggest market. Tonight you dinner on the Lady Hau cruises on the Saigon river.

Day 17: Cu Chi tunnels

Meal: Breakfast

Overnight: HCMC

In the morning you drive to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels. Very famous in the wartime with its smart and complicated system including underground meeting room, kitchen, food, weapon caches, hospital. This underground complex is a must-see when you are in HCMC. You are invited to crawl around in the safer parts of the tunnel system or try a shooting range where you can fire a number of assault rifles, such as the M16 rifle or AK-47, as well as a light machine gun like the M60. Back to HCMC. Rest of the day is your free time.

Day 18: HCMC – My Tho – Can Tho

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Overnight: Can Tho

Today you leave HCMC for the Mekong Delta. Surrounded by thousands of crisscrossed canals, life in the Mekong Delta revolves much around the river, most of the villages are often accessible by rivers and canals rather than by road. Upon arrival you take a motor-boat to explore the Thoi Son islet. Following a village path passing local houses to visit some family-run coconut candy mills then you take a horse-cart from village to village. Enjoy lunch with local special dishes followed by the “Southern Vietnamese folk music”, a very common art activity in the Mekong Delta performed by local people.  Rejoin your car for a drive to Can Tho.

Day 19: Floating market – Villages biking – HCMC

Meal: Breakfast and Lunch

Overnight: HCMC

Early wake up today to join in the Cai Rang floating market, one of the most exciting activities you should do when you are in this area. Take a motorized boat to join the market and experience how people exchange goods, fruit and many other commodities on their vessels. You also find floating restaurants, floating bars, floating gas stations, and many other floating shops. Back to the shore and take a bike cycling from village to village on path, over monkey bridges, get in touch with local people. Lunch is at local restaurant before driving back to HCMC.

Day 20: Fly to Siem Reap

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Overnight: Sieam Reap

Enjoy your free time until transfer to airport for flight to Siem Reap, one of the major tourist hub in Cambodia and the gateway to the world famous temples of Angkor Wat. Warm welcome by your local guide for transfer to hotel.  Today your visit the  South Gate of Angkor Thom, the famous Bayon, Baphoun, the Terrace of Temple, Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King. It is time to visit one of the great wonders of the world, symbol of the heart and soul of the Cambodia, Angkor Wat  then enjoy the wonderful sunset from the top of Phnom Bakheng Hills followed by a dinner with Khmer Apsara dance show.

Day 21: Angkor Wat Sunrise & Angkor Complex | Meal : B -L | Overnight: Sieam Reap

Meal: Breakfast and Lunch

Early wake up in the morning  to enjoy the sunrise over the Angkor Temple then you discover the Angkor Wat, a temple complex built for king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city.  You then continue to visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the Preah Khan temple.  Enjoy the sunset at the Preah Rup temple to end the day.

Day 22: Departure Siem Reap | Meal: B

Meal: Breakfast

In the morning you have a drive to the Phnom Kulen Mountain. Climb up the hill to visit the Srah Damrey, Damreay Krab and Ang Prochiev temple followed by a nice trail of Kulen mountain to reach a special stream with thousands lingas in the water.  Short break before transfer to Siem Reap airport for departure. Have a nice journey and thanks for joining us.
