Short Description

Discover the Norwegian Arctic with this enchanting and exhilarating winter tour of the wild Lofoten and Svalbard Islands, punctuated with a stay in the sophisticated 'Arctic Capital', Tromso.

Your expedition begins in the Arctic Circle Lofoten Islands with a stay at two luxury and unique hotels from which you'll explore the breathtaking fjords and charming fishing villages by both private sea Zodiac and luxury land vehicle.

Next up is an overnight in sparkling Tromso, the 'Arctic Capital', and a private tour of the city's fascinating Polar museums including Polarium, the world's most northerly aquarium.

We then bring you further north again for the final destination of this extraordinary tour, the fierce and frozen Svalbard Islands which are situated between Norway and Greenland. You'll stay in two very special hotels during your visit which includes private snowmobiling tours, a polar bear spotting expedition, and an incredible husky dog farm and sledding experience.

Private tours give you the undivided attention of a guide, and often involve special access to sites and unique experiences not available to larger groups. This is a great option for families, couples, and small friend groups. Expect to pay a bit more for the extra service.

Emily Hunter was an excellent ! In fact , I made a mistake planning our international flights and she arranged the best option as to not inconvenience us at end of our trip to Africa. Our family of 5 was never disappointed EVER on our adventure to East Africa ! We saw it all and felt it was money well spent! Thank you, Emily , for a fantastic trip to beautiful Tanzania and Zanzibar.

Two weeks back from an amazing bucket list trip to South Africa and Zambia and I can't stop gushing about it. This trip exceeded my every expectation. Em from Jacada Travel curated a perfect trip - from the hotel selections, tour activities (including a picnic on Table Mountain (our Cape Town tour guide Terry was knowledgeable and wonderful) to hand written notes and a surprise birthday safari birthday celebration. The lodge and rangers were excellent. No detail was omitted and I love the sunset cocktails! The one annoyance (and not a major issue) were the mosquitoes in the hotel in Zambia. I am looking forward to another African safari next year planned by Em! Lovely!

Jacada did an amazing job planning, actualizing, and following up on our recent trip to western Norway. Alex Carey, our travel professional at Jacada, and Michele Santomassimo, our travel concierge at Jacada, did an amazing job of getting to know us, listening to our priorities and requests, and then putting together a truly memorable once-in-a-lifetime trip for us. My husband and I highly recommend Jacada!

The Lofoten Islands

The craggy Lofoten islands lie within the Arctic Circle, separated from the mainland by the Vestfjorden. The magical archipelago is a place of uniquely distinctive scenery filled with the contrasting beauty of beaches and mountains, open sea and sheltered bays, untouched lands and picturesque fishing villages. The pure air, pristine waters and special quality of the Arctic light alone make it an exceptional destination.

This is the original Viking country and it was here that one of the earliest Viking towns, Vagan, was found. On Vestvagoya you can see the largest Viking longhouse, now a living museum.

Rost claims the world's largest deep-water coral reef and the largest number of nesting sea birds in Norway such as eagles, cormorants, puffins and other birds. Otters and moose can be found on the largest islands.

In winter, the polar nights and the auroral oval crossing make the islands ideal for a chance at seeing the Northern Lights. It's also the best time for fishing as Atlantic cod and other species come to the waters to spawn; nature safaris to spot majestic killer whales and seals; and for skiing excursions.

During summer, the long period of midnight sun make the islands verdant with growth and rock climbing enthusiasts flock here for the Alpine-style ridges. Surfing, cycling, golf, hiking, rafting, kayaking and for the brave, scuba diving, are also popular.
