Amazing, other worldly, up close, intimate and such a vast variety of landscapes and wildlife. The ship is 5* adventure and luxury wrapped into one. Staff on board are super well coordinated, friendly, helpful, warm and the naturalists on board know their stuff. This is a once in a lifetime experience and I would not hesitate to send any client here, regardless of age! An amazing education for all. I am a Virtuoso travel agent who sells Lindblad and this is my first experience with them for myself.

I've been fortunate enough to travel around the world and see a lot of great sites. I've done budget group travel, and I've hoofed it on my own, but have also stayed with the most exclusive 5 Star Inns and tour operators. They all have their place, but for certain destinations -- particularly the arctic, Antarctic, and Galapagos, I would not consider anybody but Lindblad.

Yes there are others that call themselves Expedition ships, but I've been on 5 expeditions now, and I've have dozens of conversations with staff members who've worked for a variety of expedition companies. There's a reason so many of them work their tails off for years to try to get a job with Lindblad.

Will you have a good experience with the lesser-brand expedition ships? Sure. But for all the money you spend to get to these once-in-a-lifetime destinations, you want the best captains and the most aggressive and knowledgeable expedition leaders. Consider this: Your trip with Lindblad might lead to an afternoon spent on the nesting grounds with 200,000 penguins, or a night out hiking on pack ice, or swimming with whale sharks, when other nearby ships didn't want to risk the tricky tides at the nesting grounds, or were instead caught in a storm just a few miles away.
