Our experience on this luxury passenger train was the ultimate bucket list item! Imagine touring the Canadian Rockies in accommodations well above first class plane travel and you'll have a sense of what the Rocky Mountaineer trip was like. The hosts and train managers were so entertaining! They were patient and kind with all of the passengers and so very knowledgeable about the areas through which we travelled. The chefs created some of the most delectable food we'd ever tasted. We never went hungry while on the train - EVER! Being able to get up and move around when we'd sat too long was a wonderful bonus, because as everyone knows who's ever flown, you often can't do that on a plane. There was a lot of leg room in every row. Each individual seat had several adjustments available, such as allowing us to lay back a little, or a lot in which to sleep, and a leg rest to prop up our feet. A sturdy tray originating in the armrest of each seat let us use it when needed and was easily stowed. Then there were the restrooms: they were 3-4 times bigger than on an airplane - can you even wrap your head around that concept?! All of the necessities of travel were taken care of by RM, starting with reserving hotels and rental cars, retrieving our luggage from our hotel room, trucking them ahead of the train and having them placed in our next hotel room, and preparing our meals: all we had to do was get on the tour bus at the designated time that would take us from our hotel to the station to board the Rocky Mountaineer train. I can't express how wonderful of a trip it was, and it was all due to the hard work and seamless operation of the Rocky Mountaineer crew.

As a side note: we planned this trip in conjunction with our 25th wedding anniversary. We casually mentioned to the hosts that it was our anniversary and the crew on our train car individually signed a celebratory card for us. What a wonderful feeling to know that people we'd just met the day prior were so caring as to recognize our special occasion with a personal note.

If you get the chance to ride the Rocky Mountaineer, you won't ever forget it - it's a wonderful and memorable experience!
