Itinerary

Day 1:

Accommodations: Seven Crown

Arrive in La Paz and check into your pre-assigned hotel room (included in trip cost). You are free to sightsee, shop, or relax until the pre-trip meeting in the evening. At this meeting, we answer questions and inform you of our meeting time for the next day. Dinner is on your own at one of the many local restaurants. After dinner, we strongly suggest a sunset stroll along the waterfront “malecon” walkway!

Day 2:

Meals: Lunch and Dinner

Accommodations: Seaside Camping

Off to the island! We start the day by boarding our panga “Espiritu de Silvia” that shuttles us to the island where our kayaks are waiting. Upon arrival at the beach, you learn the basics of paddling during our orientation and safety talk. Once everyone feels comfortable in the boats, we leave shore and kayak to our first night’s campsite. (A motorized support boat transports all of the camping gear and meal supplies, making for a light and easy paddle.)

Day 3 – 5:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Accommodations: Seaside Camping

Paddle, explore, camp, repeat! Days begin with breathtaking sunrises and conclude with cool, comfortable evenings of star-gazing, moonrises, or even bioluminescence in the sea on moonless nights! In the hours between, we paddle and explore the scenic cliffs and coves of Isla Espiritu Santo. Camps are set on sandy beaches that provide opportunity for swimming, tide pooling, snorkeling, beachcombing, and hiking. We paddle approximately four hours per day, allowing time for lunch and floating rest stops. Camping includes a comfortable slumber in our roomy dome tents, though you may be tempted to sleep outside beneath the stars! Multiple campsites have a desert arroyo hike, which provides a unique opportunity to explore some of Baja’s native desert flora. We quench your thirst for adventure and relaxation, providing a meal with margaritas for a heavenly happy hour on the beach

Day 6:

Meals: Breakfast and Lunch

Accommodations: Seven Crown - Centro

After waking to another stunning sunrise, we eat a hearty breakfast and break camp. Weather permitting, we will visit the friendly sea lion colony of Los Islotes in the morning before returning from Espiritu Santo back to the mainland by boat. A fun and festive farewell dinner awaits at a local favorite restaurant, where we say our goodbyes and toast our kayaking adventures!

Day: 7

Accommodation: Seven Crown Centro

Optional: Add a day to snorkel with whale sharks for $199 (including hotel).

Note: If you are not extending your stay to snorkel with whale sharks, day 7 will be your departure day.

Extend your stay in La Paz before or after your kayak tour to snorkel with whale sharks. Whale sharks, the world's largest fish, can reach up to 42' (13 m) in length and can weigh in at over 21 tons! Don't let their size fool you however, these plankton-eaters are quite docile and make the perfect snorkeling companions. Whale sharks migrate into the bay of La Paz from October through April, where the shallow waters harbor plenty of their favorite treats.  The tour is approximately four hours, depending on the number of whale sharks present.  After a light lunch we'll return you to La Paz where you can spend the afternoon exploring town or strolling the Malecon.

Day: 8

Enjoy a final breakfast in La Paz before departing the city for your journey home. If you're flying via San Jose del Cabo, ensure that you have adequate time in your itinerary to shuttle from La Paz to Cabo.

I've had the privilege of working with ROW Adventures all over the world as a filmmaker. Having been on so many trips, both domestic and international, I have a pretty good knowledge as to how this company operates.

A few things stand out on every ROW trip, regardless of destination. First being the guides. These are people who genuinely love what they do. They're passionate, attentive, professional, safety-oriented, friendly, and generally fun people to be around. They're accommodating to individual needs and do their best to make sure you are comfortable and enjoying your vacation to the maximum.

The next thing that stands out is the food. It doesn't matter if you're on a 6 day whitewater rafting and camping trip, the food is gourmet. Prime rib, chicken mole, salmon, eggs Benedict, and a variety of expansive sandwhich spreads are just a few examples of ROW's typical "camp" food.

Perhaps their best feature though, is their emphasis on human connection. In the end, these are trips that are very often life changing. ROW is dedicated to curating life changing experiences that draw families closer to each other, create new friendships between guests and guides, and educate everyone involved about how tourism can work to the continued protection of our great outdoors.

If you're looking at booking an adventure trip, whether it be in North America or abroad, I would recommend ROW Adventures in a heartbeat.
They're a top-notch company in all the areas that count, and I would book them for any trip in the future.

Solo travelers can pay a single supplement of $105 for their own rooms, or can be matched up with another solo same-sex traveler if one is available and willing to share. Solo travelers typically have their own tent during our kayaking tours, at no additional cost.

Guides

We know your Guide will make the biggest difference on your trip! Which is why we pride ourself on employing only the best local guides for all of the incredible locations that we visit. Part of this is to support our eco-tourism efforts, but we also believe that there is no better way to experience a new destination than through they eyes of a local! We find talented and skilled local guides, train and certify them, and provide a positive and consistent source of income to them and their families.

Most of our guides are with us for the long-term, despite the seasonal nature of the industry. Our top-notch equipment, unique itineraries, and perfected operations attract extraordinary guides, many of whom are highly sought after in the industry. ROW Sea Kayak Adventures guides know their outdoor skills as second nature. Each trip will have 2-4 guides to assist, inform, and lead the way so you get the most out of your adventure. They love to share conservation, knowledge, games and laughter - and they’re great cooks!
