Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Buenos Aires: first day in the city

Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to the city and you’ll have the rest of the day to enjoy the city at your own pace.

Buenos Aires is a marvelous, furious, cosmopolitan city, full of plenty of colours and different kind of architecture. Capital of Argentina and described as the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires proudly embraces this title, as well as showing off plenty of its own culture!

Argentines are usually eager to host visitors: if you walk the streets with a map, someone will surely stop and ask if you need directions. That’s our spirit! So, for this first day, be free to wander the cobblestone streets lined with outdoor cafes, enjoy the the mouthwatering aroma  of prized Argentine beef sizzling on an open “parrilla” (barbeque), and browse the local antique and artisan markets that offer plenty of bargain shopping.

And to travel deeper and have a firm grip of the Argentine spirit, find the perfect leather jacket or handbag (Buenos Aires is home to some excellent local designers),  enjoy a typical dinner-tango show in the worldwide known home of the tango, and explore the colorful San Telmo and Recoleta neighborhoods.

Say Hueque tips

So, you don’t know where to start? Don’t worry, che! (“che” is our “hey”), take a look at our Buenos Aires – travel guide and check out our recommendations on where to eat dinner and the can’t-miss places to visit in town:

Day 2: Discover Buenos Aires: city tour & tango show

In the morning we’ll pick you up to enjoy our traditional, 3 hour-long Buenos Aires city tour. Over the course of a half day you’ll be swept away by the highlights of our beloved Buenos Aires.

You’ll visit the historical and political center of the city around May square (Plaza de Mayo) and the Pink House (the presidential house). San Telmo with its cobblestone streets and  the oldest residential neighborhood and La Boca where Buenos Aires turns colorful and tango is ever present: come to walk Caminito street and dance with the locals.

The next stop: Puerto Madero where the city gets modernized, Retiro where the cutting-edge Kavanagh building rises like the guardian of the neighbourhood. Continue to Palermo, the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, which is divided in 3 main sections (Palermo Viejo, Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood).

This tour will end at the chic and aristocratic Recoleta, where the big palaces remind us that Buenos Aires was once the “Paris of the South”. Discover the final resting place of Eva Perón, “Evita” and wander through Recoleta Cemetery where she is to be found.

In the evening you will be picked up from your hotel to be driven to a mystical place where you’ll discover one of our most ancient traditions.

Tango is more than our national dance. Tango is: our immigrant origins, the talent of our local artists, the sensuality of the Argentine woman and our way to deal with a broken heart, dancing our way through tragical and yet eternal love stories.

Tonight you will enjoy a professional display of tango and music with a group of local artists onstage immersed in an elegant and alluring place. The manners, ambience, clothes and dance steps which tango lovers used to practice 100 years ago will come to life again and you will travel in time for a night.

This spectacular demonstration of the finest local dancing will be accompanied by delicious Argentine and international cuisine. Dinner is à la carte, beverages included so you can lose yourself in the ethereal taste of Malbec wine. At the end of the evening (around midnight), you will be driven back to your hotel, fully in love with the bohemian spirit of our beloved Buenos Aires.

Say Hueque tips

Tango is, all in all, a cultural experience that’s deeply rooted in Argentine hearts. Where do regular people go to dance tango? Check out what these two little tango dancers have to say and untie the mystery…

Day 3: From Buenos Aires, travel to Iguazú Falls

It’s time to leave the city and fly to ¡the jungle! At the appropriate time you will be transferred to the domestic airport to take your flight and travel to Iguazú Falls.

Welcome to Iguazú!

The small border town of Puerto Iguazú is the gateway to visit the impressive Iguazú Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site, making it a must-see destination for any traveler visiting Argentina.

Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport and provided a transfer to your hotel. Answer the call of vacations and take your time to relax at your hotel. If you’re eager to explore, you can visit the “Hito tres fronteras”, a viewpoint west of the town center that stands high above the turbulent reddish-brown junction of the Iguazú and Paraná rivers, which also form the Triple Frontera, or Triple Border between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. Or visit the Güirá Oga (the house of birds in native Guaraní language), the sanctuary for animals hurt by illegal hunting and trapping.

Say Hueque tips

For the most adventurous, we recommend to take a bike tour through the rainforest with an specialised guide. You will discover the flora and fauna, the sounds of the jungle, the trail of little native mammals and the traditions of the Guaranies. Check out our recommendations on where to eat dinner and take a look at our Iguazú Falls – Travel guide for more practical tips.

Day 4: Iguazú Falls Tours: Argentine side

Today our bilingual guide will pick you up at your hotel and you’ll visit the National Park, on the Argentine side.

The falls are surrounded by a humid subtropical forest where the exuberant vegetation is home to many different animals and birds. Our guide will help you spot some of them: ant birds, toucans, manakins, parrots, coatis, just to name a few of the most common birds. Lower and upper walkways weave in and around falls permitting up close and personal experiences with this magnificent spectacle of nature.

The Argentine side of the falls is filled with a myriad of paths and walkways and stairways which allow you to have an experience from many different perspectives. You will have the chance to meet “The Devil’s throat”: the largest of the falls and for many the most spellbinding. To get to the Devil’s Throat you take the ecological train and then walk out along boardwalks.

After walking and taking pictures of animals and plants, you will have some free time to eat lunch in this amazing environment. This exciting, 6-7 hour-long excursion is highly recommended in order to experience the true power of Iguazú Falls.

Say Hueque tips

Would you love to have a “Great Adventure”? The Great Adventure (“gran aventura”) is an optional tour you can add on this day. You will take an open air jeep through the rainforest and then a zodiac open air boat ride up the river to the base of the falls (there is a 100% chance that you will get soaking wet on this boat trip, so be sure to take some extra clothes!). Find out more about this adventurous tour and entrance fees to the National Parks:

Day 5: Iguazú Falls Tours: Brazilian side/ Return to Buenos Aires

After breakfast, we’ll pick you up to enjoy a 3-4  hour excursion to the Brazilian side of the Iguazú Falls. Don´t forget your passport!

While Argentina has 80% of the falls on its side, Brazil has the best panoramic view. On the Argentinian side you had the sensation of being right inside the falls, but only by visiting the Brazilian side you’ll fully appreciate the immensity of Iguazú Falls.

Take your time to enjoy it and feel it, to stroll the different walkways and feel the spray of water in your face. Take the boardwalk over the Salto Santa María, it feels like walking on the water. Get closer to the Devil’s Throat and feel the power of water! We are sure this is a day you will never forget.

At the appropriate time in the afternoon you will have a transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires and upon arrival you’ll be transferred to your hotel.

Day 6: Last day in the city! Enjoy Buenos Aires day trips

Welcome back to the city of “porteños” (inhabitants of the port city of Buenos Aires). How you would like to spend your last day of vacation?

Here are some ideas: you can explore the cobblestone, tree-lined streets of Palermo Soho in search of one-of-a-kind Porteño fashion store or discover the graffiti circuit. Or you may stop by one of our historic cafés (named “cafés notables”) located all over the city and have a “cortado”, the most popular Argentine coffee choice.

If you’re leaving on a Saturday or Sunday, you may have the chance to visit one of the city markets, only open on  weekends. At the appropriate time you will be transferred to the international airport for your flight back home.

¡Buen viaje!

I really liked the service Say Hueque provided. Everything went according to plan and you and all the staff and guides were very friendly and helpful. You customised my plans in Buenos Aires to meet my interests. The map you wrote on for me is now almost falling apart because I used it all the time and went to most of the places you recommended. Both hotels were very good and well located. I would definitely recommend your services. Thanks very much and best wishes

"I learned about Say Hueque through the internet – mainly trip advisor. It was an easy choice to work with you because there were not many available recommended tours. I also liked the easy communication through the online chat and that it was possible to make last minute bookings. I also consulted my sister who owns a travel agency in Singapore and she mentioned that the prices offered by you guys seem quite reasonable.
Being able to make changes to my tour at the very last minute was my highlight of traveling with you - thank you for helping to arrange! The tours were also in very small groups of just 3 people so it was more cozy. Hotel Peninsula Valdes was ok, didn't stay at other hotels.
My favorite excursion was Doradillo excursion but this was done by another tour agency (i think it's Flamenco travel as Huinca travel didn't have available tours. Huinca travel was really great in being able to help me do the last minute arrangements too). In addition to watching the whales, the guide took us to other locations which had beautiful views and we even went on a mini trek!
The initial itinerary provided to me had a tour to Punta Tombo to see the penguins, and I was only told that Punta Tombo is not available AFTER i made confirmed the tour by making the payments. The itinerary provided should have been an up-to-date one since it is customized. I had 2 options as replacement for my Punta Tombo tour (2nd day): Punta Loma and Doradillo. Initially i chose Punta Loma but on the whale watching tour during the first day, the guide told me that the sea lions are in the Valdes area and not Punta Loma this season so Punta Loma would be pretty empty.....hence i made the last minute request to change to Doradillo. This was a lucky decision for me because i met other tour customers who went to Punta Loma and told me there was no sea lions to see at all. While I' m happy that you guys managed to grant my last minute request, this information should have been made known to me when the tours were offered also to avoid disappointment.
Thanks!

"We just returned from a 3week South America trip. It was great.
We searched on internet and learned about Say Hueque. We decided to travel with you because the comments over the 6day trip Attacama-Uyuni were really good.
I would say our highlight were the good guides who gave lots of information. We only stayed in e one hotel, the Don Tomas hotel in San Pedro.
We had short excursions and one large: the three day 4wd to Uyuni. The El Tunio exursions was great. Early to get up but worth it. The 4wd tour was awesome with highlights and depths (the overnight stay in the refugee: ‘basic’ accommodation was an understatement). Although an experience, it took many hours to recover from it.
I forgot the name of the guide to the El Tunio geysers – he was awesome (I believe he is an San Pedro artist). He gave lots of information, in Spanish and English and full of humor

"Mendoza and surrounding area is beautiful. I have appreciated the checkins at both locations.
I would like to say that there are some parts of my trip that were great and others that were not that good unfortunately.
The airport transfers have been wonderful and very timely. The hotels have been beautiful and clean; with staff being very helpful.
However, the tours and some aspects of the tours were very disappointing. I am aware there was an error for the city tour pick up. I am greatful that alternative plans were arranged allowing me to see the great historical elements of Buenos Aires. However, the tour was rushed. I had the opportunity to walk around certain monuments. However, I did not get the chance to walk around and explore the different areas for extended periods of time. I think I was expecting a walking tour and I am not sure if the usual tour involves driving around to different sites. The Tango show and meal was amazing.
The tours I have had with Huenata are well organized however, I was placed in all Spanish group for both of the tours. The tour guides were able to speak in both Spanish and English however; it was difficult for me to interact with the group. As a solo traveller group tours are usually the opportunity to met and socialize with different people. I was looking forward to seeing award winning vineyards in Mendoza and unfortunately the wine tour was average.
The full day tour through Acongua mountains to Uspallata was absolutely beautiful! However, the restaurant we went to for a late lunch was not good. The service was poor and the food was very poor. This meal cost 200 pesos; for a meal that was half eaten. I paid 280 pesos for a fantastic meal at the hotel. The full day tour should include lunch.
I thought I would be getting a better quality for the tours especially considering it is low season. I am not sure that this tour has given me great value for my money.
Thank you,

Olivia
