I have to recommend SouthAmerican Travel to any one that is taking a tour to Peru or South America. My Dad and I went to Peru in April 2014 for 20 days. We found the site by chance on line and used their “create your own adventure” function and submitted it. We were contacted by Christina Schranz and she put a package together with everything we requested which included a 14 day tour of Peru from Lima to Cusco and then with a 5 day tour of the Amazon. She put the whole package together and we also asked for flights to be included and she found some for both our international fights and our connecting flights from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado and back to Lima. Christina was great and she replied to all our emails quickly and professionally. My Dad and I were very happy with here service and would recommend her to put any ones travel package together!

The tour itself was fantastic. We were very surprised when we arrived in Peru due to the fact that we weren’t expecting the treatment for a 3 star hotel package. We were treated like royalty we were picked up at the airport by a guide and usually a driver that took us from our hotel or airport to our next destination and gave us so much information about the area and the sites we were going to see.
The hotels were spectacular 3 star one hotel that did stand out was the Hotel El Mapi because it was far above average for a 3 star hotel with very nice rooms and a 3 course meal that was fantastic. The hotel staff was also very accommodating and helped us with all our needs. The only exception was in Cusco at the Terra Andina which was a disappointment both due to prices and poor room standards.

We had so many amazing tour guides and drivers I would like to name a few:
Christine Berg was a great when we first arrived and the city tour of Lima was very good and informative before we left.
Rosa Garcia was an amazing guide and we enjoyed the time and information she gave us thanks for the fun time and we will always remember the sand buggy ride!!
Wilfredo Ccalla was a very informative guide in Arequipa and showed us a very beautiful city.
Turismo Mer was one of the best bus drive/site seeing tours because it broke up the long drive with some cool attractions and a beautiful stop for lunch.
Raul from Export tours was our guide for the sacred valley, the Pisac ruins and visiting Ollantaytambo he was a very informative guide and very passionate about his culture and his job.
Martin Carrillo was a very informative about Quechua culture and the history of Machu Picchu and he was also very good a showing us amazing places up on Machu Picchu and some of the sacred places.
Enzo was a very amazing guide for us in the Tambopata National Reserve and river. He was very fun to be with and showed us some very cool animals and trails in the jungle. He was a very amazing person and my best wishes for him.

The Tambopata Research center was a fantastic facility with beautiful rooms and great services. The researchers were also very knowledgeable and great to be around.
I would like to thank you and all the amazing tour operators that we had the opportunity to travel with and the chance to meet these amazing people.

SouthAmerican Travel put together an amazing trip that was well laid out and hotels that were one notch above grade. Thank you for an amazing tour and wish all the guides we met the best.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival In Buenos Aires & City Tour

Arrive in Buenos Aires and meet your tour guide, who will transfer you to your hotel. Later, set off on a guided Buenos Aires city tour. Visit historical landmarks such as Casa Rosada and the Plaza de Mayo where the 25 May 1810 Revolution took place. With your free time, relax in a bar or restaurant in Puerto Madero. If you arrive on a Sunday, stop off at the San Telmo Antique market to shop for unique items and people-watch.

Day 2: Tigre Delta & Tango Show

Visit the Tigre Delta, a relaxing getaway from the city and a way to escape the heat during the summers. Venture into this area of verdant landscapes and zigzagging rivers located just a few miles from Buenos Aires city.

In the evening, enjoy a 3-course steak dinner (vegetarian options available) and Tango Dance Show, an authentic porteño-style dinner show complete with wine and live music.

Note: Delta Tour doesn’t operate on Sundays.

Day 3: Arrival In Puerto Iguazú & Brazilian Falls

After breakfast in the hotel, a driver will take you to the airport for the flight to Puerto Iguazu. Look out the windows while flying over the Iguassu Falls to see these impressive waterfalls from above. Once at the airport, your guide will greet you and escort you to your hotel.

Your first introduction to this Natural Wonder of the World begins at the Brazilian side of the national park. Enjoy a guided visit of Brazil's Iguaçu National Park. After checking out the exhibits at the visitors center, take a bus ride to visit various vantage points that will reward you with a panoramic view of the falls. An elevator up to a lookout platform provides a bird's eye view of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The most stunning waterfall is the Devil's Throat, which spans a 2,700 semi-circle that gushes over a height of 72 meters.

Day 4: Sightseeing Argentine Falls

This morning, eat breakfast at the hotel and then head to the Iguazu National Park for a full day tour of Iguazu Falls. On the Argentine side of the falls, you can see the Garganta do Diabo, the “Devil's Throat.” On the Brazilian side, you can walk out over the water on catwalks at the base of the falls. You can also opt for the Macuco Safari to see the falls up close - you'll even get a little wet when the boat approaches the mist under the falls!

Day 5: Travel Through The Atlantic Rainforest

This morning, after breakfast in your Iguazu hotel, travel to Curitiba through the Atlantic Rainforest. The route is incredibly scenic: you'll see rolling green mountains, fertile farmlands, and a subtropical forest with unique Araucária trees. Check in to your hotel in Curitiba.

Day 6: Curitiba Tour & Train Ride

Take a full-day tour of Curitiba, Morretes, and Antonina in the Serra do Mar region. Start off in the morning to visit Curitiba’s highlights, passing the Tiradentes Square, the Guaira Theater, and the Museum of Oscar Niemeyer. Stop to visit the Wire Opera House, Tangua Park, Tingui Park and the Botanical Garden. Also, visit Antonina, a lovely and historic port town.

Then transfer to Morretes and have a delicious lunch by the river. Take some free time to explore this quiet colonial town. The lunch (included) is a typical barreado, with slow-boiled beef and seafood. Return to Curitiba via a tourist class 3-hour train ride through the Serra do Mar. The route, built in the late 19th century, crosses through lush rainforest, mountains, and bridges.

Day 7: Arrival In São Paulo & City Tour

Fly into the domestic São Paulo airport and head out to explore the largest city in Brazil. Go on a guided city tour and visit the historical district and its landmarks such as Paulista Avenue, the Liberdade Japanese district, the Sé Cathedral, Patio do Colégio where São Paulo was founded by the Jesuits, and the financial district of São Paulo with it’s Art Deco and net-baroque architecture.

Day 8: Transfer To Rio De Janeiro & Corcovado Mountain

Wake up early to take in the hustle and bustle of São Paulo before heading to the airport to fly to Rio de Janeiro, the "Marvelous City."

Begin with a tour of the Tijuca Forest and the Corcovado Mountain, from where the famous Christ the Redeemer Statue overlooks the city and the bay. This imposing statue, built in 1922, has been declared one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
