My friend and I recently traveled to Nepal from the United States and had an amazing experience trekking to Annapurna Base Camp with sunrise adventure travel! We met Suresh in Kathmandu and he was incredibly helpful in setting up our trek and accommodation/activities in Pokhara post trek. Our guide, Palman (aka Paul) was amazing as well!! He was knowledgeable, patient, trustworthy, and kept us laughing with his hilarious sense of humor (which matched our own spot on!). Everything worked out exactly as Suresh promised that it would and he checked in before and after the trek to make sure that we were pleased with how things were going. We definitely felt that we were in good hands with both gentleman and would highly recommend Sunrise Adventure Travel. The prices were very fair and our experience was unbeatable. Thanks again, SAT!

Coming to Nepal with hopes of completing the Annapurna Base Camp trek, we were not left disappointed given the awesome help by Sunrise Adventure Trek. They helped set up everything from transportation to the small details of our itinerary while in Nepal. For the trek we were guided by Palman, who was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and fun to walk alongside for almost ten days! I definitely recommend using Sunrise Adventure for planning your next trip to Nepal!

We are a group of students from Singapore who have decided to embark on a trekking trip to Everest Base Camp. Even though we did not make the trip to Everest due to the the plane to Lukla airport being unable to take off (due to the bad weather during monsoon), which rendered us stranded at the airport, all was not lost. Suresh, who was in-charge of Sunrise Adventure Trek, made back-up plans and we were off to Annapurna Base Camp for our trek the very next day.

The porters and guides (Ramesh and Sobit) were all very friendly, taking care of our needs every step of the way. The warm demeanour has also won us over, with spontaneous dances being part of the nightly activities.

Will definitely be back to Nepal to explore the other treks, and also for this warm group of people whom I now call friends.

Additional Information:

Equipment and Packing List

A variety of clothing is necessary for the Annapurna base camp trek. While choosing the equipment trekkers to need to give emphasis on two simple aspects: Lightweight and Functional. The items should be lightweight, dependable, and adaptable to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The quality of the trekking equipment you choose has a lot to do with how warm, dry, and safe you will remain. For this reason, you have to be critical of quality and the proper fit of clothing.

Clothing

T-shirts - Hiking shorts - Undergarments - Full sleeves shirts - Long lightweight cotton pants - Fleece or wool pants (seasonal) - Waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell pants. - Insulated pants/nylon windbreaker - Light and expedition weight thermal tops. - Fleece jacket or pullover - Waterproof shell jacket - Down jacket - Light warm fleece hat/woolen hat - Sun hat - Lightweight gloves. - Heavyweight gloves or mittens with a waterproof shell outer (seasonal)

Season

Nepal, as a tourist destination is good for all seasons, however, the best seasons for trekking to Annapurna region are Spring (March-May) and Autumn (mid-Sept. – mid-Dec.). Trekking in autumn season is noted for clear weather and excellent views of silvery mountains against the blue sky. It gets colder towards the end of December. This trek can be done in any month except January and February. Annapurna base camp trekking can be done even during the monsoon season but not recommended. There a few avalanches prone area in this trekking route which makes it dangerous for trekking in the winter season.
