There are so many great things to say about my European trip of a lifetime. The people that made it was my fellow topdeckers and of course the Fab Tour guide Matt Stewart. This is a trip that I will never forget, so many lovely memories I will cherish forever. We was very lucky with Matt because he really took time to talk to us and make us all feel relaxed with each other and asked us what we wanted to do. He was so knowledgable about all the places we went to, I remember thinking to myself this guy is pretty cool the fact he knows so well about the history and culture of each place especially the amount of cities we travelled to. Matt made the trip fun, interesting, exciting and I hope that if I was to ever do a top deck again one day he would be the tour guide or I think I would be disappointed. Have recommended top deck to so many people, memories I will have for a lifetime.

Topdeck Tours was awesome, at the time back in 2005 I was traveling for 12 months, and wanted to see a huge chunk of Europe on a budget, so I found this company and it was exactly what I was looking for, the guides were very friendly, our cook was making really great meals on the side of the road, and the driver was very funny, and the accommodation was all good and I and all the other people had such and awesome time, and lots of us still keep in touch and will always remember our Topdeck experience.

I had high expectations for my trip to Egypt and still came away impressed. The country's history and culture is astounding, there's just so much to see and learn about. I found the Pyramids and tombs more impressive than I anticipated and my itinerary with Topdeck packed in the perfect amount of inclusions with free time. The locals were very friendly and my guide was second to none. I would definitely travel with Topdeck again and look forward to returning to Egypt. So many highlights it's hard to mention just a few but the Felucca journey on the Nile, the tour of Abu Simbel and the sunrise hike up Mt. Sinai stand out as especially memorable.

I went on a Topdeck trip it was wonderful. Then I tried to book another trip at a great rate I found online from Stride Travel. Stride Travel is a reputable website that is new to partnering up with Topdeck. However, Topdeck didn't want to give me the better rate so they made up all these lies about me on why they couldn't book me then told me they couldn't discuss it. It's either they have something against Americans or they are just money hungry scam artists. Total false advertisement. 1 Star for Topdeck for this issue

On my way home from my New Zealand and Australia tours and the only bad thing about it is that it's all come to an end! Every driver and guide I had was awesome, special mention to Scott and Anthony for being such fun guides!

I'm already looking through your other tours to pick my next one. Until next time Topdeck

Itinerary

Day 1

Know much about San Diego besides Ron Burgundy? Nope? That's okay. With a coastline position that's close enough to high-five Mexico, it's all about how many fish tacos you can consume in the next few hours. Get acquainted on our city tour with beaches, San Diego Harbor and Downtown, oh my! Surfers froth over San Diego for its variety of breaks within (almost) paddling distance. Look out for pros like Rob Machado in the line-up. Total beginner? Try La Jolla Shores. Tonight, hit up Gaslamp Quarter or seek out rooftop bars for cocktails with a view.

Included today:
-Driving tour of San Diego

Meals:
-Dinner

Optional activities:
-Nightlife tour of San Diego

Day 2

We suggest you keep today classy with a ride on a historic trolley, a jaunt through the Spanish-style Balboa Park and a visit to San Diego Zoo (one word: pandas). Hone your craft beer vocab with a self-guided tour through over 80 breweries and brewpubs in "America's Craft Beer Capital". Or just get in on the sun and surf action along the 70 miles (112 km) of beaches.

Meals:
-Breakfast

Optional activities:
-Visit the USS Midway Museum
-Visit the famed San Diego Zoo

Day 3

Joshua trees are like a mutant cactus-cross-pandanus and you'll only spot them in Southwest USA. Drive through the tree-dotted landscape of the Mojave desert to Prescott (home of the world's oldest rodeo), where cowboy hats are part of the locals' uniform and Whiskey Row is the place to be. Soak up some of the lingering history from the notorious strip of gun-slinging saloons that once stood there.

Meals:
-Breakfast

Day 4

On our way to that big hole in the ground, we make a stop in Arizona's 'little Hollywood', Sedona - a spiritual mecca in the desert (and set of many a John Wayne film). Say a few 'oms' and find some zen amongst the red sandstone on the optional Jeep tour before we travel towards the Grand Canyon.

Meals:
-Breakfast
-Dinner

Optional activities:
-Jeep tour in Sedona

Day 5

Ready to 'go big or go home'? You've seen pictures, but nothing can prepare you for the humility that comes with standing on the precipice of something so mighty. With a day at the Grand Canyon you can see billions of years of rock history from every angle including a 360 degrees panorama if you take the chopper.

Included today:
-Day trip to Grand Canyon National Park

Meals:
-Breakfast

Optional activities:
-Heli-tour over the Grand Canyon

Day 6

Urban hippies rejoice! A stop at the Cameron Native American Trading Post will soothe twitching shopping withdrawals with drums and silver jewellery. Continue the journey with stops at Horseshoe Bend on the Colorado River and Glen Canyon Dam - one of the largest dams in the United States, and the reason for Lake Powell's existence.

Meals:
-Breakfast
-Dinner

Day 7

Zion means the kingdom of heaven - once you arrive, you'll see why. Millions-year-old sweeping sandstone canyons, iridescent waterfalls and impressive landscapes make this a hiker and photographer's utopia. Strap on your boots and walk along the canyon floor or heed the challenge up to Angel's Landing. Then we'll make like a condor and soar across the desert to a little town called Las Vegas. Tonight: a nightclub on wheels (and pockets full of casino chips?).

Included today:
-Entry to Zion National Park
-Las Vegas party bus

Meals:
-Breakfast

Optional activities:
-VIP club entry

Day 8

Gamble your time in Vegas away on the roulette of activities available at your doorstep: bet high with indoor skydiving, put everything on black or take your winnings straight to the skies with a helicopter flight. Whichever way you choose, you're winning.

Optional activities:
-Entry to the High Roller Observation Wheel
-Shooting range experience

Day 9

G-rated Vegas sounds like an oxymoron, but there's plenty of family-friendly options from indoor skydiving to rollercoasters atop needlepoint buildings. Circle the globe without leaving The Strip (Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, Pyramids of Giza), take a leave pass to tour Hoover Dam or Death Valley, or go white-water rafting. Today, Vegas is your oyster, and there's a good chance it will be battered and deep fried.

Optional activities:
-Heli-tour over the Las Vegas Strip

Day 10

Vegas, it's time to say goodbye. Today we end here, but there's no reason why you can't stay on for few extra days to live it up, right?

Your included meals are detailed in the 'More Inclusions' section of this document.
Please note that drinks are not included with meals, except at breakfast where coffee, tea and/or juice may be included. If you wish to purchase drinks at dinner you may do so at your own expense.

If you have any dietary requirements we will make every effort to cater to your specific needs as long as you advise your travel agent or Topdeck Trip Consultant when you book. But please be aware that although we will do everything in our power to arrange it, we cannot guarantee that every restaurant we use will be able to cater to all dietary needs. We cannot cater for tastes or dislikes, as most of our included evening meals feature a set menu.

Accomodations

We have endeavoured to select a combination of good quality hotels that reflect the character of the local area and are as centrally located as possible, all the while striving to keep the cost affordable. Standards and ratings may however differ to what you are accustomed to in your own country.

The 'More Inclusions' section of this document details what type of accommodation is used for our overnight stops.

If you are a solo traveller, you will always be sharing a room with someone of the same sex. If you are travelling as a couple and would prefer to have a double bed, please officially request a double room with your travel agent or Topdeck trip consultant. We never presume that two people travelling together are a couple, even if you share the same surname, unless informed otherwise.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have booked pre or post trip accommodation, please note that most hotels in North America require you to present a credit card at check-in, even if your accommodation is pre-paid. The hotel will either place a temporary hold on a set amount (called a pre-authorisation) or will make a manual swipe of the card. This is done to cover incidentals, for example you consume something from the mini-bar, or you damage the hotel room. Your card will NOT actually be charged unless you use the mini-bar, etc. Please ask the hotel front desk clerk for a further explanation when checking in if you are unsure about why they need the card. Again, this is standard procedure at most hotels and is typically not something you need to be concerned about.
