Short Description

Discover artistic Ecuador with a visit to the Art Workshop School, and meet famed Ecuadorean painter Oswaldo Viteri to discuss his work. Then, uncover the source of the inspiration of so many local artists as you explore the country'’s natural beauty: high Andes habitats and volcanic mountains painted with verdant forests, and aquamarine crater lakes. Travel the ‘Avenue of the Volcanoes,’ walk amid the cloud forest, and hike beside waterfalls. Keep an eye out for puma, spectacled bear, and the magnificent Andean condor. Visit the vast Inca Ruins of Ingapirca and the colonial cities of Quito and Cuenca, and complete your picture at colorful Indian markets and a private hacienda.

Private tours give you the undivided attention of a guide, and often involve special access to sites and unique experiences not available to larger groups. This is a great option for families, couples, and small friend groups. Expect to pay a bit more for the extra service.

Casa Gangotena, Quito

Casa Gangotena occupies a pivotal place in Quito’s historic heart, at the corner of Plaza San Francisco. Its history stretches back to the time of the Incas when, according to the early Spanish chroniclers, in the 15th century the square featured Inca temples, one of them on the site of the present house. Situated in a newly-restored historic mansion overlooking Plaza San Francisco, the three-story Casa Gangotena features 31 rooms, a showcase of eye-catching style, contemporary design, antiques, fine furnishings, modern technologies and quintessential comforts. Beautifully and eclectically-appointed, the hotel invites its guests to explore and to relax, whether in the dining room, glassed-in patio, garden redolent with the perfume of native flowers, wood-paneled library, or atop its panoramic third-floor terrace.

Hacienda San Agustin de Callo, Cotopaxi

Since the 15th century San Agustin de Callo has served as Inca fortress, Augustinian convent and temporary home for the French Geodesic Mission whose scientific results helped to determine the true shape of the planet. This exciting historical past has left the Hacienda with a unique energy and atmosphere that is rare and wonderful to encounter. Brick and stone pathways cut their way through natural landscaping and traditional buildings while horseback riding, trekking and fishing excursions provide guests an opportunity to explore the stunning surroundings in the Avenue of the Volcanoes. Rooms come fitted with king-sized beds, en-suite bathrooms, fireplaces, music and cable TV.

Hacienda Abraspungo, Riobamba

The wonderful Hacienda Abraspungo is located at 2,754 meters above sea level and is surrounded by the magnificence of the Ecuadorian Andes. It is named after a glacial valley which is situated between the Chimborazo Volcano and Carihuairazo, in the exact center of Ecuador. Hacienda Abraspungo, with its comfortable, charming and high level installations, offers personalized service in the ideal spot to enjoy the peace and beauty of the Andes. Abraspungo offers 42 comfortable rooms which incorporate modern interior design elements within the framework of traditional, colonial architecture. Located a quick walk from the famous square of Parque Calderon, Mansión Alcázar Boutique Hotel is located in a vibrant area of the city, close to well-known museums and churches. The republic style architecture adds the perfect element of elegance to this already refined structure. Guests can have a refreshing cocktail or glass of champagne out in the jasmine garden and enjoy the fantastic surroundings of the Hotel. Relaxing indoors is also an option, perhaps by the baby grand piano sipping a warm cup of tea. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the city of Cuenca has everything visitors could want from it - beauty, nature and a vibrant life. And when they are not exploring the area, guests may want to sit and have a delicious meal at the hotel’'s Casa Alonso restaurant which serves international and local favorites.
