Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Lima

Welcome to Lima, Peru!.

There are a variety of hotels we recommend in Lima. The Miraflores Park Hotel, set in one of the city's most fashionable areas is renowned for personalized service, deluxe accommodations and breathtaking views of the ocean. Nestled in Lima's prestigious San Isidro district, surrounded by elegant embassies, the Country Club Lima Hotel is an elegant five-star boutique hotel with world-class amenities, which include access to the exclusive Lima Golf Club course. Casa Andina Private Collection Miraflores offers great service with contemporary décor, while Casa Andina Select Miraflores offers comfortable amenities at a more affordable price; both hotels are in an excellent location. El Pardo Double Tree, located in the heart of Miraflores is another great option with comfortable accommodations and service.

Day 2: Lima

This is your second day in Lima, and last chance to enjoy its exquisite, gourmet restaurants, historic landmarks and museums. Tours are not included in this package, but may be added to customize your itinerary. Travelers may wish to extend their stay in Lima for two nights, in order to take advantage of the wonderful sites. We offer a wide selection of activities and tours (in booking process) should you decide to spend more time in Lima.

Day 3: Depart For Sacred Valley

Today you will depart from Lima to Sacred Valley, a short 1-hour flight takes you to the Cuzco Airport, from where you will be taken to Sacred Valley.

Cuzco is approximately 3,400 meters (about 11,500 feet) above sea level and travelers need to inform themselves about altitude and acute mountain sickness (AMS), which may be prevented and treated under the advice of a doctor BEFORE travels begin.

Upon arrival in Cuzco Airport, you will be transferring to the lower altitude of the Sacred Valley. Your private transfer to Sacred Valley is via private van or bus and includes an English-speaking representative with a copy of your travel itinerary who can answer questions. The transfer takes no more than an hour and a half, depending on what hotel you choose.

We recommend several hotels in the area. Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel and Wellness is a colonial style property and spa built on a 17th century hacienda by the Vilcanota River, surrounded by gardens and mountains. Tambo del Inka Luxury Collection is another luxury hotel with the largest spa in the region. Hotel Rio Sagrado by Orient Express is more of a boutique luxury accommodation, which does not offer in-room televisions in order to preserve a complete sense of relaxation. Sol y Luna Lodge offers fine Andean bungalows and proudly participates in community work that includes a school. Sonesta Posadas del Inca is a former 18th century colonial-style monastery surrounded by gardens and cobblestone paths and offering comfortable amenities. Villa Urubamba is a more secluded property offering comfortable amenities in the midst of nature.

Our package defaults to staying 2 nights in Sacred Valley, but you have the flexibility to add more nights to fit your schedule and preference. This can be done in the "Book” Tab using the Customize Book box. Although tours are not included, they can be added to your itinerary during the booking process. You may wish to take advantage of this first day to do a half-day activity in Sacred Valley, or if you arrive by 9am at Cuzco Airport, a full-day tour may be arranged.

Day 4: Sacred Valley

Enjoy the wonders of this mystical area! We offer a number of activities and tours, which can all be customized in the booking process, depending on your interests.

The Pisac Market and Ollantaytambo is a Full-Day Tour, which is also offered as Half-Day Tours. Pisac is a Peruvian village in the Sacred Valley of the Urubamba River. The area is known for its Inca ruins on top of a hill at the entrance of the valley. The village is also well known for its market open every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Ollantaytambo is another quaint village and an Incan archaeological site known as the royal estate and ceremonial center during the Inca Empire.

Another tour, which is offered as both Full-Day and Half-Day includes Chinchero, Maras and Moray, which combines a traditional Andean village, ancient salt mines and huge circular agricultural terraces built by the Incas. For travelers seeking more adventure, there are Vilcanota River Rafting and Horseback Riding tours available.

Day 5: Depart from Sacred Valley For Machu Picchu

Enjoy an early breakfast at your hotel. Today you will depart Sacred Valley and arrive at Machu Picchu. You will have the option of shared or private transfers. Both options include a representative holding a sign with your name(s) at the train station exit. Upon arriving to Machu Picchu Station in Aguas Calientes, your tour guide will accompany you to the bus stop. Buses run every 15 minutes and operate in shuttle mode. ALL guests share the service, even the ones who purchased the "private tour." The 20-minute bus ride takes you up a hill on a zigzag road with impressive views of the mountain junctions and the Urubamba River. The Machu Picchu citadel is located on the top of the mountain.

At the end of the 2 ½ hour guided tour, there are 2 lunch options to choose from at the time of booking. One option is dining at the Tinkuy Restauraunt located inside the Sanctuary Lodge, the only hotel next door to the ruins. We recommend this option, considering your Machu Picchu ticket allows multiple SAME DAY visits. Lunch next door allows visitors to go back to the ruins (before taking the bus down to Aguas Calientes town) for an independent walk without a guide, allowing more time for pictures and to simply enjoy the place. The second lunch option (less pricey) is to take the bus down to Aguas Calientes and have lunch at the Inkaterra Café inside the Pueblo Hotel. Please note, if you wish to make good use of the Machu Picchu SAME DAY ticket, you would need to purchase a new set of round-trip bus tickets to the ruins.

Our package defaults to a 1-night stay in Machu Picchu during the booking process, but you have the flexibility to add more nights to fit your schedule and preference. The Machu Picchu tour, hotel transfers, train tickets and bus tickets are included, unless you decide to take extra bus trips and extra visits to the ruins.

The Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge by Orient Express, located merely steps away from the ancient Inca Citadel, is a luxury hotel offering guests undeniable access to the ruins. Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel, located within secluded 12-acres in Aguas Calientes, is an intimately charming 85-cottage property with Colonial style décor and cobblestone paths. Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel is a family-owned property located on the banks of the Vilcanota River near many tourist attractions, offering comfortable amenities in a contemporary style. El Mapi Hotel, part of the Inkaterra chain of hotels, is a more economical option offering casual, modern amenities with minimalist simplicity.

If you decide to stay an extra day in the Machu Picchu area, you have the opportunity of experiencing a second visit to the ruins to explore more deeply the Lost City of the Incas. You may also choose to make an adrenaline-fueled ascent to the Huayna Picchu Mountain, offering breathtaking views. Those interested must make reservations in advance, as there is a limit to daily visitors. Tickets to Huayna Picchu are not included in our Machu Picchu tour price. It is important to note, these options are non-guided, unless otherwise noted.

Day 6: Depart from Machu Picchu to Cuzco

Today you will depart Machu Picchu via train and arrive at Ollanta Train Station from where you will be transferred to your hotel in Cuzco. Depending on the time of your departure, you may still be able to revisit the ruins, please note details mentioned in previous paragraph in regards to entrance tickets. Our VIP service (offered on Private Basis only) includes a tour guide meeting travelers at the Aguas Calientes Train Station (Machu Picchu) and accompanying them on the 2 ½ hour train ride. Representatives will be waiting for you at the Ollanta Train Station, and be providing transportation to your hotel in Cuzco, which takes about 1 ½ hours.

We recommend spending two nights in Cuzco. Tours are not included, but may be added to your itinerary at time of booking. Palacio Las Nazarenas by Orient Express is a luxury boutique hotel, located in the heart of Cuzco, next to the Monasterio. Hotel Monasterio by Orient Express is a deluxe 5-star colonial property considered a national historic landmark with a cloistered courtyard, featuring a tranquil fountain and a 300-year-old cedar tree. Inkaterra La Casona presents the first Relais & Chateaux hotel in Peru, an exquisite 16thcentury mansion meticulously restored with only 11 deluxe suites. Casa Cartagena Boutique Hotel and Spa offers 16 luxury suites accented with contemporary furnishings and amenities set against colonial architecture.

Palacio del Inka Libertador (Westin) is another luxury hotel offering 5-star comfort and amenities. Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel is built in a colonial mansion and offers elegance and comfort. Casa Andina Private Collection, located in a recently refurbished 18th century house, features 93 rooms with 5 stately colonial courtyards and comfortable amenities. The Hotel Costa del Sol Picoaga (Ramada) is a 4-star colonial-era mansion offering comfortable amenities and excellent service. Los Portales is an excellent 3-star hotel with pleasant accommodations at a lower price point.

Upon arriving at your hotel in Cuzco, we suggest relaxing and taking it easy, although there is plenty to see and do.

Day 7: Cuzco

Enjoy the wonders of this magical colonial city! Although Cuzco tours and activities are not included in the price of this package, they may be added to your itinerary at time of booking.

The Cuzco City Tour and Nearby Ruins is a Half-Day tour, which takes you to the highlights of the magical colonial city, considered the Capital of the 15th Century Inca Empire in addition to visiting the Sacsayhuaman Fortress (an imposing example of Inca military architecture) and the Tambomachay Baths of the Incas ruins. The Pikillacta and Andahuaylillas is another Half-Day tour, which takes you to a Pre-Incan city containing hundreds of buildings in addition to visiting a historic coppery prairie replete with artwork and architecture.

Visitors may also be interested in participating in other Half-Day tours and activities, which include: Cuzco by Night with Pisco Sour Lesson, San Blas Art District, Walking Tour Artistic Cuzco, and Market Visit & Andean Cooking Class. Gourmands may be interested in the Full-Day Cuzco Culinary Tour.

Day 8: Flight Back Home

Today you will be transferred from the Cuzco Historic Center (where all of the hotels are located) to the airport, by one of our private English-speaking representatives. It is an approximate 30-minute drive.

Having never used this company before I wasn’t sure what to expect. This was a big trip for us, and my daughter and son in law so I hoped I had chosen the right company to book with. After reading other reviews we decided to go with Tripmasters and were so happy that we did. The website is user friendly and the trip updates were helpful. What really blew us away was the personalized app they provided with all your itinerary information. We definitely will use Tripmasters again and will recommend them to others! Two thumbs up

TripMasters is shady at best. We recently booked through them and paid in full at the time of booking. We needed to make some changes to our itinerary and contacted them to cancel a hotel well within their stated timeframe resulting in a refund. The representative stated it would be applied towards our balance due. We told them we had paid in full at which time they stated the hotel did not accommodate the number of people their website had stated so "they" had paid the difference. Yet they were trying to recoup that money from us because we were unable to print the vouchers needed for our travel! In regards to the refund owed, it's been 16 business days and still no refund. They refuse to provide confirmation numbers regarding your contact with them beyond your booking number.

Consider this company for your transportation needs only as those items are typically non-refundable anyway. Hotels are more flexible with your booking when you book on your own rather than through this company.

I highly recommend Tripmasters after completing a 15-day European vacation with my family. We traveled to 4 countries and 6 cities and all of the arrangements made through Tripmasters went smoothly. Our reservation included international flights, 6 different hotels, multiple train trips and one flight between Germany and Italy and everything was hassle free. I found their website easy to navigate and I liked the ability to add cities to my itinerary and adjust the number of nights spent in each city. One of our train trips required hard-copy tickets and we received a FedEx package 10 days prior to our trip with the required tickets. I also appreciated the Tripmasters App, which provided great information and push notifications; though be advised that they only allow you access to the app 7 days prior to your trip. I used Tripmasters following the recommendation of a friend and I am now telling all my friends about them.

We just got back from our Trip to Italy which included Rome, Florence, Venice, and Milan. I loved booking with Tripmasters. It offered so many Hotels and tours to choose from. I loved the app and while traveling utilized it to chat w/ tripmasters. They replied instantly and any questions and concerns I had were taken care of immediately. I would highly recommend Tripmasters. I have already told several people about how effortless it was to book online. My only issue was in the limited 8 hour window to save the trip. I would have liked to work on it over the course of several days and keep going back and adding to it. I would guess it has something to do with not being able to save hotel choices for a long period of time. At any rate, it was a 5 star experience!

I can not say enough about how incredible our Trip was. I took my daughter for her College Graduation and 21st birthday. It was a Trip of a Lifetime. The price was phenomenal and the Hotel selection was done by Tripmaster all in perfect locations within walking distance to main attractions. The services contracted like Hotel/ Airport transfers were all reliable . My daughter snd I were Vegetarian and a few days before we flew i called customer service yo let them know. They said no problem they would let the airline know. I was a tad skeptical but dure enough the airline had the special meal order. We did Dublin, England, Rome and Paris. I have been recommending to all my Family snd Friends.

After considering for quite some time whether or not to us Tripmasters I decided to take the chance and I'm glad I did. Booked a 14 day trip to Italy (Venice, Florence, Cinque Terre, Rome, and Pompeii). I never had a problem with my flights, hotels, trains, or tour bookings. When my the airline changed one of my flights, Tripmasters notified me right away and informed me of my options, if the change didn't work for me. I will definitely use them for my next vacation. Thank you Tripmasters!
