Highlights
  • Enjoying the panaromic views
  • Trekking through the rainforest to Shira Ridge
  • Lemosho is considered to be the most scenic route to Mt. Kilimanjaro

The Lemosho route is one of the newer routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. The route begins in the west and rather than simply intersecting Shira Plateau (like Machame), Lemosho crosses it from Shira Ridge to Shira Camp. Climbers encounter low traffic until the route joins the Machame route. Afterwards, Lemosho follows the same route through Lava Tower, Barranco and Barafu, known as the southern circuit.

Lemosho is considered the most beautiful route on Kilimanjaro and grants panoramic vistas on various sides of the mountain. It is our favorite route because it offers a great balance of low traffic, scenic views and a high summit success rate. Thus, Lemosho comes highly recommended. Most of our clients use Lemosho.

Just did the Lemosha Route with a successful summit climb. August and his crew were great, they were very knowledgeable and provided whatever assistance anyone needed. Chef Paul kept us so well fed that the threatened loss of appetite at altitude never happened. Our porters amazed us daily with their strength and agility hauling their loads up and down the mountain. The Lemosha Route is gorgeous with beautiful and changing views of Kilimanjaro as you make your way up to Barafu Camp. After the long march down we did a 6 day Safari and again had a wonderful experience. Tito our guide was very knowledgeable about the birds, animals and plants, we saw the "Big Five" and more! I highly recommend Ultimate Kilimanjaro.

We had a great time on our Kilimanjaro climb. Everything went smoothly. Our guides, Freddy and Eli, were very competent, knowledgeable, and friendly. They really helped encourage and reassure us, especially at the toughest and most miserable parts of the climb. The rest of the team was excellent as well, and the food was great. Absolutely nothing bad to say about any of it.
The Stella Maris Lodge was wonderful, and the staff were amazing.
The one-day Safari we did in Arusha NP was a bit underwhelming. Our guide, John, was an awkward (albeit nice) guy. He knew a good amount about the plants and animals in the park, but the language barrier made communicating with him a bit difficult. I was pretty bored about half way through the day, but this might say more about me than it does about the safari service. I am still glad we did the safari, as seeing some of these animals in the wild is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but I am glad we only did it for one day.
The Milimani Lodge was fancy looking, but the utilities (electricity and water) were quite spotty, and there was a rooster who didn't let me sleep past 4 am. Although I understand that these issues are mostly out of the hotel's control.
Overall, I am very happy with my trip. I am glad we went with Ultimate Kilimanjaro, and I will definitely recommend your company to any friends interested in climbing Kili in the future.

I did the Rongai 7 days trek and had the most amazing experience! Our lead guide Deuss and his crew were extremely friendly, helpful and professional! We had 32 porters supporting our group of 11 walkers and I watched in awe every day as they sprinted past us with our luggage balanced on their heads - I have so much respect for them!

I've just arrive home from a successful trip with 10 other members of our group. Right from the start when I was asking lots of questions to the beers back at the hotel, Ultimate were always there for us. From Shawn in the office to Baraka our head guide and his team, they always had our safety as their priority. I couldn't have asked for a better team, very organized, great food and equipment and very knowledgeable. I had done quite a bit of research before choosing Ultimate and I'm so pleased that I did, we had good briefings before and during the trip with health checks morning and night. Nearly all of our teams suffered from some form of Altitude sickness and this was carefully managed by the Ultimate team to the point that we all made the summit. There was never any pressure to push on and they let us walk at our pace. Again, I can't say highly enough of the Ultimate team and more than happy to answer any concerns others may have about this trip, it's certainly a once in a life adventure!!
