Amazing Zambezi August 20164.0
Just being in the nature all day long, seeing elephants real close by, having a young elephant trumpeting at us and having to paddle zig-zag around the hippos.
CB was a great tour guide. Very calm and always in the lead. His trainee Best was just that: all the best!! They cooked great food and made us all feel very comfortable during the whole trip.
Bring lots of wet wipes for the days on the Zambezi and the islands. Pack your luggage for the first 3-4 days in your carry-on, as the tour will start right away and you won't have to repack in the dark when you get to the start of the tour.
If you want to experience real nature.....just do this tour and enjoy

Operator G Adventures
disappointing August 20162.0
I have traveled with G Adventures before and I have taken tours with other companies. I was more than surprised at the low level of knowledge, experience and professionalism of the driver and the CEO on this trip.
They didn't ruin my trip by any means but there was so much wrong with this trip. The bus was completely inadequate for the drive through Kruger. It was too small and the windows didn't all open so that pictures could be taken. The bus driver said he couldn't drive off the paved road so the drive through Kruger was just a drive on a paved road through the park. Because of this, we often chose to do "optional activities" which costs much more money. But even when we did pay to be in an open safari vehicle, the driver stayed on the paved road. (We were given 10% back for this); however, since the ride was the same as the one the 'private vehicle' took, it should have all been refunded.
Unfortunately, as nice as the CEO was, she said any number of times, she didn't know what we had been told to expect from G Adventures. Then she would say, she got us an upgrade of some sort and that was not the way it was at all.
We stayed in nice places; however, they were very remote, like as much or more than an hour to a town or store. This became a problem because dinner was NOT included with these stays, even though dinner was available. So, if we wanted to eat, we had to pay or buy some groceries at stores and have no place to cook or even sit and eat. G Adventure should include the dinner meals with all of these accommodations, even if the total costs goes up to cover the meals. It's just silly not to provide it.
Overall, this would be a G Adventure trip I would not recommend.
