An incredible experience travelling from Beijing to St Petersburg by train, unforgettable and fascinating to travel with a likeminded group of people, all aware of a standard level of comfort, all curious to learn with an open mind, either by engaging in interesting conversations on the train or just by quietly observing the varying and stunning landscapes along the way

An incredible experience travelling from Beijing to St Petersburg by train, unforgettable and fascinating to travel with a like-minded group of people, all aware of a standard level of comfort, all curious to learn with an open mind, either by engaging in interesting conversations on the train or just by quietly observing the varying and stunning landscapes along the way. Ways of life, culture and nature, steppe and forest, people and humanity, small villages and impressive cities, this trip is nothing short of an epic experience of a life time.

G Adventures allows me to travel like a local and experience things I would never get on a big coach tour

Volcano Adventure – San José to Antigua

5.0 March 2017
Recommend: Yes
G Adventures allows me to travel like a local and experience things I would never get on a big coach tour. It gives me the chance to have a little adventure with the security of knowing I have an on hand expert to help if anything were to go wrong or just to assist with anything I might want to see or do. It is a perfect mix of "group touring" and the flexibility that you usually only get with independent travel. Being only my second trip with G, I don't have a lot to compare it to but loved it just as much as my first experience with the company last year. As a travel agent, it's really important to me to have found a company that really believes in what they do especially when it comes to sustainable travel. But also one that really believes in their people. I can see this all through your marketing but I feel it out on the road as well.

G Adventures staff understood the cultural, social, and physical needs of our group, and were well equipped to help our group leap across those barriers in a short time and have an incredible experience engaging a world totally unlike our own. What a great time! Huge props to Elard, Marcellino and second guide Rumi. I simply can't imagine wanting to do Cusco and the Inca Trail with anyone else. Where do you find these people- For what it's worth, I did observe a few other G Adventures staff, and am thereby convinced we got the best. We weren't looking for the "Party on, Wayne" experience which a couple seemed to exude, although they may have been responding to what their group was looking for I guess.

G Adventures was recommended by a friend; she used it when it was Gap Adventures

Quest of the Gods

4.0 March 2017
Recommend: Yes
G Adventures was recommended by a friend; she used it when it was Gap Adventures. I in turn would not hesitate a moment to recommend G Adventure tours to my friends. Every day of our trip was different, full of learning, learning about a wide range of things from flora and fauna, to wars and heroes, to ancient languages and Incan architectural methods. I love travel that gives me an opportunity to learn about the world and its people, and about how they live and have lived. For me, Quest Of The Gods was an ideal vacation. Thank you all. I still have the little mauve ribbons that marked my bags for the Amazon part of our adventure. / May I suggest that your e-form allow more than one choice for: Where are you most interested in travelling to next- For an adventure-vore like me, one option is limiting. For me, Africa is there on the horizon as well, plus +++ .... !!!

G Adventures yet again, continue to provide a 'topclass' service, striking a definitive balance between cultural experience and logistical travel administration to ensure that the customer achieved a deep cultural experience of the country travelled but yet travelled to considerable sites to attain this experience

G Adventures yet again, continue to provide a 'top-class' service, striking a definitive balance between cultural experience and logistical travel administration to ensure that the customer achieved a deep cultural experience of the country travelled but yet travelled to considerable sites to attain this experience. Once you depart home you realise how much cultural experience you have gained and how much you have seen in such a compact tour, this is why I continually choose such a professionally led company like G Adventures, Each CEO is personally driven which eminates through their work- keep up the excellent service!!

Stride Take

Specializing in small-group, multi-day adventure tours and expeditions, Toronto-based G Adventures has been a pioneer in the field since 1990. Founded by entrepreneur Bruce Poon Tip after a backpacking trip to Asia, the company fosters sustainable and environmentally sound tourism practices -- giving back to the communities they visit -- and considers its business “changing people’s lives,” not just offering a vacation. It’s since grown to become the world’s largest independent adventure travel company, with more than 1,350 employees, many of them professionally trained guides.

What Makes Them Stand Out?

G Adventures strives to create unique experiences for its travelers that start even before the trip itself. The company provides trip inspiration through their Looptail blog and you can connect with fellow travelers via the ‘Departure Lounge’, which is part of G’s ‘Watering Hole’ travel forum. Once on your trip, you will meet your ‘CEO’ or ‘Chief Experience Officer’ who is “responsible for enriching your journey, offering local insight, and pursuing great experiences as they happen.” Most groups average around 12 travelers, with a maximum of 16 on most trips.

Who Travels With Them?

While its target market has traditionally been younger travelers, G Adventures now offers a broad range of trips that can appeal to adventurous-minded, culturally curious people of any age. Groups are geographically diverse, with a higher proportion of North Americans than some other operators.

Where Do They Operate?

You can find G Adventures trips in most parts of the globe, including 32 countries in Europe, 25 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, 21 countries in Asia, 10 countries in South America, 12 countries in Central America and the Caribbean, five countries in North Africa and the Mideast, plus the U.S., and Canada. A number of destinations are well off the beaten track, from Sao Tome and Principe in West Africa to Borneo in east Asia to the Maldives in the Indian Ocean and both polar regions.

How Does it Work?

Pricing is competitive (cheaper), largely by using “grassroots” approaches: local transport and a mix of privately-owned accommodations, perhaps including homestays and camping. Efforts are made to focus on authenticity with both culinary choices (locally-owned restaurants) as well as transportation methods. G Adventures truly offers something for everyone, with trip styles such as Comfort, Active, Rail, and YOLO (You Only Live Once - for 18-39’s).

Why Travel With Them?

G Adventures is a good choice if you are looking for an authentic, if not luxury, guided travel experience. Some features especially stand out. Lifetime Deposits allow passengers who have to postpone a trip the chance to use their initial deposit at a later date and at no extra charge. Departures are guaranteed once you’ve paid (barring significant weather or safety issues). And they don’t charge single supplements. In short, G Adventures wants you out there with them.

From G Adventures

G Adventures is an adventure travel pioneer offering the planet's most awe-inspiring selection of affordable small-group tours, safaris and expeditions. Our award-winning trips embrace authentic accommodation, exotic cuisine and local transport to put travellers on a first-name basis with the planet’s people, cultures, landscapes and wildlife.

Adventure travel is more than a vacation. It’s a chance to get to know your world better by putting yourself on a first-name basis with the people, places, and things that make it worth exploring. This is your planet. Come and get it.

All G Adventures tours share a common love of adventure, but life-altering experiences come in a variety of flavors. Here are some of the Travel Styles we offer:

"Comfort": “Adventure travel” doesn’t have to mean “roughing it.” Comfort tours offer the genuine experiences you want with more extras, frills, and upgrades.

"Classic": An unbeatable mix of uncommon experiences, insider access, cultural contact, and all the must-sees and -dos, Classic is adventure perfected.

"Active": Why just see the world when you could bike, hike, kayak, and multi-sport it? Why, indeed. Active tours keep travellers who like to move on the move.

"Yolo": You’re only young once. Make the most of it with Yolo tours, fun-filled and fast-moving adventures designed just for travellers aged 18 to 39.

"Family": Just because you settled down and had kids doesn’t mean your adventuring days are through. Family makes our big planet small enough for all.

"Local LIving": Want to get under the skin of some of the most gorgeous and out-there places? Local Living tours grant access that even locals don't have.

"Private Groups": Got a group of eight or more and want to keep the fun to yourselves? Try a Private Group tour. You pick the who and where, we’ll handle the what.

No matter what kind of traveller you are, we’ve got a tour (or a dozen) that’ll fit you just right.

  • 100% Guaranteed Departures
  • Lifetime Deposits
