This was the trip of a lifetime. I had high expectations for what this 8 day adventure would be, and every single moment of the trip exceeded what I had hoped for. November 2018

The days in La Paz were fun and seeing the whale sharks was incredible. The 6 days of kayaking and camping around Isla San Jose was out of this world. Beautiful camp spots where I could have spent the rest of my life gazing at the stars. The sunrise every morning and sunset every night was picture perfect. The campsites they chose were out of a movie, true paradise. I loved how remote the area was. We didn't see any other people other than a few local fisherman the entire week we were kayaking our way around the island. The waters were so clear and we saw marine wildlife everywhere we looked- turtles, stingrays, mantarays, dolphins, sea lions, whale sharks and so many beautiful fish I could never list them all here. The guides were happy to take us on whatever activity we wanted, and spent time beyond just the daily kayaking with us to ensure we had the adventure of a lifetime. They also gave me great pointers while we were on the water every day, so my paddling technique improved each day, and made the miles of paddling much more enjoyable with the ease of the techniques they shared with us. The food that was prepared for us each day was some of the best of my life. Traditional family recipes from the guides that ensured I got a real taste of Baja flavor. Hiking, snorkeling, and even accompanying our guides on spear fishing adventures were some of the amazing activities we did every day. Ruben, one of our guides would spear fish for our dinner and then the three of them would make us fresh sashimi on the beach with the snapper and parrot fish he caught! WOW! Thank you to Guillermo, Ruben, and Guerro for the most incredible trip I have taken in a long, long time. You guys are amazing and made this week one that I will remember for the rest of my life. I can't wait to take another trip with ROW, and more than that, I can't wait to come back to Baja and take another adventure with all of you! Read more

I had a lot of fun and learned a lot on Mysteries of India with G Adentures-National Geographic.
India is not an easy countriy to visit for the first timer, so an organized tour is the way to go.
Our guide (CEO), Manu Rao, was excellent--he is very personable, knows his country exteremly well, and will go the extra mile to make sure his group is informed and comfortable.
This trip focusses on Rajasthan, a large state, and covers a lot of territory.
Our group consisted of 6 travellers-two Canadians, two Australian, and two Americans.
I travelled as a single male traveller (wife could not join me).
Everybody was in their 50s and 60s, all reasonably energetic.
A would go on a similar G Adventures tour as soon as time and budget permit.

We paid for a 3 week luxury river cruise but received a large group bus trip across Europe with many days of packing and unpacking. I called our Viking representative when we received an email message just 2 days prior to departure that mentioned a possibility of problems with low river levels. I was assured that everything was "normal" In reality, as we learned later from ship personnel, nothing has been normal for at least 3 months. About 2 weeks prior to departure, we received by mail, lovely personalized booklets describing all the details of our voyage on the Viking Lif, which we were to board in Russe, Romania. Instead, we boarded the Viking Aegir but not at Russe, because the Danube was too low. Instead we rode buses upstream to a port on the Romanian side directly opposite our first scheduled stop at Nikopol, Bulgaria. We had a beautiful cruise through the Iron gate gorge, but after three more scheduled stops in Bulgaria, Serbia, and Croatia, our voyage was terminated in Mohacs, Hungary, an unscheduled place two days short of reaching Budapest. So we were herded into buses for a 1.8 hour ride each way to our scheduled stop at Kalocsa. The next day we retraced the journey to Kalocsa and continued an extra 1.5 hours to reach Budapest. We lost the entire morning in Budapest and spent the night at the Marriott hotel. The next day we lost the entire afternoon in that city because we had to take a 4 hour bus ride to Vienna. Where we were put aboard the Viking Embla. Our voyage on that ship ended two steps later at Passau Germany. After a day in Passau we went upriver for a short distance and it seemed that we had entered the canal to take us to the Main river. But much to our surprise, it was a dead end channel for an industrial port. We spent two days there with our balcony room moored tightly against another Viking ship so there was nothing to look at but the scenery at that site was even worse than looking at someone else's window and the balcony was unusable anyway due to the unpleasant odors at that site. The pattern continued with a long round trip bus ride the next day to our scheduled stop at Regensburg and a 3 plus hour trip the following day to Nuremberg where we finally boarded the Viking Lif. A crew member told us that the Lif had not traveled east of Nuremberg for 3 months. We sailed from Nuremberg to scheduled stops in Bamberg, Wurzburg, and Werthiem and then our voyage terminated for good at an unscheduled port in Mainz. Once again we endured a long round trip journey to our next scheduled stop at Koblenz, followed by a 10 plus hour bus trip (with lunch and a walking tour in Cologne) to Amsterdam and a night in a hotel. Despite a promise that our bags would be in our rooms (they did take great care to provide us with tags so they could easily keep our bags organized) all the baggage was dumped in the hotel garage and it took a good 15 minutes of searching to find it and then take it to our rooms ourselves. There is much more, but it would only be more descriptive of the misery of this trip. We know Viking didn't cause the low river levels, but they did not need to lie to us and make us suffer because of it. Read more

from start till end this trip was amazing!
Everything went smoothly, from the pre-tour info, to information at the hotel
and the logistics of the domestic flights and checking in on the boat. It
felt very safe, especially for a woman travelling alone.

The crew on board was excellent! I loved the way every guide had his own
‘field of expertise’ which covered everything you wanted to know (and
things you didn’t know you wanted to know ;-)).

The Staff was extremely helpful, happy, smiling and overall serviceminded. It
was a pleasure!
Overall the program on board made sure that you almost didn’t have an idle
moment, which for me was amazing! And the logistics of getting nearly 200
passengers into zodiacs 10 at the time, went so incredible easy, they crew
are really professional and know how to make your experience the best
possible.

I can highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to explore the magic of
Antarctica.

Nature Attractions & Landmarks Guide

If you like being outdoors -- whether it's hiking in the hills among spring wildflowers, camping by a mountain lake, listening to the sounds of monkeys howling in the jungle, or taking a hike in the desert at sunrise -- guided tours are a great way to get you there, give you support as needed, and deepen your understanding of what you're seeing and hearing in the natural world. And naturally, Stride can help you find the right path.

The Americas

North America has an incredibly diverse landscape, from mountains to deserts, waterfalls to canyons. Head north to Canada to see the mysterious-looking Spotted Lake. Banff National Park has breathtaking mountains as a backdrop to one of the bluest lakes you've ever seen. The United States also has its share of beauty, with multiple national and state parks well worth visiting. The Grand Canyon, for example, is one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

South America is rich in nature with rainforests and waterfalls. Get immersed in the lush landscape while keeping your eye out for wildlife. Take a cruise down to Antarctica to see massive icebergs and giant whales passing by. Hike the mountains of Santiago and watch the marvelous sunset at night. There are so many options to pick from for your next nature trip!

Africa

Africa is the second largest continent and has so much to see. If you want to go on a safari, pick one in east or south Africa to see the most animals. Looking for hotter weather? Head north to see the stunning Sahara Desert. Pick a tour that includes Madagascar to see lemurs swinging from the trees!

Asia

Asia is the largest continent and has a wide variety of countries. Enjoy the warm beaches of the Philippines. Take a river cruise in Cambodia. Hike the Himalayan mountains. The possibilities are endless for your next adventure here.
