We recently retuned from a trip to Paris & Normandy. The ability to pick & choose much of the sightseeing venues was what we were looking for in a vacation. We made our own decisions rather than being told. However, there was one problem; in Paris our subway pass did not function properly. We were required to purchase regular tickets. In addition, the room, presented as a 4 star, turned out to be a mediocre 3 star. It was clean and adequate, but a disappointment. Every thing else went according to plan. My wife & I celebrated our 50th anniversary in Paris an on the beaches of Normandy. .....Thanks Great Value Vacation

Our recent trip to Tuscany was handled by GVV and we felt the value of our time on the trip was worth the price of the package. With only one exception, I would gladly recommend them to any future travelers in search of a reputable company - the exception centers around our need to re-schedule our original package, which GVV handled efficiently. However, on the re-scheduled trip we were re-routed onto a connection flight in lieu of a non-stop from JFK, through Amsterdam into Florence. The connection time was only 45 minutes, and anyone who has traveled abroad with a connecting flight knows that is a very risky situation. When I realized this and called the GVV representative, I was "assured" that there was plenty of time and that the connecting gate would be immediately across from our arrival gate...NOT EVEN CLOSE...Although we arrived on time the new gate was a full 20 minute walk away, but only AFTER having to clear customs in Amsterdam first. An astute KLM agent was able to shunt us through the express line at customs and we literally arrived at the moment the connecting flight was boarding. This was a clear case of the GVV representatives initially scheduling a much too tight connecting flight and then misleading us about the connecting gates, not to mention the lack of knowledge of the requirement to clear customs first.

Overall, I would use GVV again. Our vacation in Ireland was everything we had hoped for, with the exception of one unfortunate experience with a B&B host. I won't belabor the point; suffice to say that we chose NOT to stay with this person and booked a hotel instead. All of the other B&B's were delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this type of lodging.

This trek is definitely worth it. It might take a week to trek from start to finish but it is worth every step. The day we got to the base camp was very difficult but only because it started the hail, then snow in the last couple hours of trekking. Apart from that the trek was amazing. The views were amazing and I got to see thing i never would have at home.

We chose Annapurna Base Camp because the trek has a lower risk of altitude sickness that Everest Base Camp.
The trek was still quite challenging with many mountains to climb over (the guide called them hills ha ha) before we eventually started to follow the valley line up the mountains towards Base Camp. The accommodation was pretty basic (tea houses) in each village we stopped and the temperature kept getting lower the more we climbed. But once we got to base camp the view was amazing and we were so glad that we decided to do this trip. It was pretty hard, but the memories of being surrounded by some of the tallest mountains in the world was worth all the effort.
I would recommend that trip to anybody with a moderate level of fitness
