For someone who is in a wheelchair, this cruise line is not accessible, even though when you book a trip with them, they tell you they are to get your money. Very dissatisfied and would never recommend this to anyone I know.

American Cruise Lines is a joy to work with. They make you feel like family. My clients as well as myself are always thrilled with the service when onboard. The support our agency receives when booking is immeasurable. Thank you, ACL. You are truly special. Looking forward to my Puget Sound and Pearl Seas Group 2015 cruises. Keep up the great work!!

I am very disappointed and upset

I was so excited to go on our trip with American but now I am very disappointed and upset. My husband has had a medical situation come up and cannot make the trip. Unfortunately we did not purchase the insurance and now it seems we are out the whole $11,300 amount that we paid. All of the sales associates have been very friendly but it seems that the President Mr. Charles Robertson has a policy of no refunds or even deferring your trip until a future date if you are within so many days of sailing no matter the reason.

I filed a BBB complaint and ACL is telling them we canceled the cruise which we did not. I also sent a registered letter to the president of the company and he never even responded to it.

"This Peru travel agency planned and booked a custom trip for me and my wife to Peru in October 2015. The trip included a short stay in Lima, and almost a week in the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco. Their service was outstanding. The planning for the trip was perfect, and we relied entirely on them as we had not been to Peru before. They also went beyond the call of duty by getting a reservation at a good hotel in Lima even though there was a huge convention of the world bank in town at the time. They persisted until they found a cancellation. they even booked two good restaurants for us in Lima. The guides they provided were also excellent, including one who was truly outstanding.

I never would have located this company except through Zicasso. Two years ago we made a trip to Brazil and we looked and looked for a travel agency of this kind and never did find one. I would highly recommend using Zicasso to find the appropriate agency if you are traveling somewhere that you have not previously been to, or if you do not have an agency you are satisfied with."

Our trip to Peru was planned perfectly, thanks to our travel agent! He was quick to respond to all of my needs & was very flexible. The hotels and the guides he arranged were great! We couldn't have asked for or imagined a better experience in this magical country!

      About American Cruiselines

American Cruise Lines is a family-owned company whose fleet of six small ships cruise rivers and waterways across America. Passengers -- most of whom are affluent and age 50 and above -- can sail the Mississippi or Columbia rivers aboard vintage-style (but newly built or renovated) paddlewheelers, or take other small ships along the Intracoastal Waterway of the southeastern U.S., through Alaska’s Inside Passage, or among the islands of New England, to name a few of the three dozen itineraries.

American Cruise Lines has been undergoing a recent rapid expansion that mirrors the fast-growing craze of European river cruising. Consequently, its fleet is among the newest in the world: The line has two more ships under construction and three more will follow in the next three years. The newest ships will carry no more than 200 passengers each, and all its current ships hold from 49 to 150 passengers.

Small ships don’t mean small cabins. Most are roomy and many have good-sized balconies. There are also spacious public areas, including observation decks, lounges, and glass-enclosed dining rooms, which offer open seating at meals. The staff provides highly personalized service and passengers have responded -- about two of every five passengers is a repeat cruiser with American Cruise Lines.

Itineraries are heavily destination oriented, with port stops nearly every day. Though lengths vary from six to 14 nights, week-long voyages are the norm. Historical and cultural lectures as well as low-key entertainments are offered on each cruise. Rates are at the luxury level, but are all-inclusive (including wine, beer, and cocktails) except for shore excursions -- which are included in Alaska.

      About Lost World Adventures

Founded in 1987, Lost World Adventures offers private and customized trips to South and Central America and Antarctica.

      What Makes Them Stand Out?

Your guide will get to know you before beginning to plan your customized experience. If you want to have a relaxing beach vacation, they can arrange that. Or if you’d rather hike up the adrenaline, they are able to offer that as well.

      Who Travels With Them?

They accommodate anyone from honeymooners to large groups. Trips are generally in middle price range - you won’t find tremendously budget items here, but they do their best to craft a trip based on all factors, price included.

      Where Do They Operate?

They are focused in South and Central America, with a variety of trips from beach vacations to Costa Rica, food tours in Argentina, or Machu Picchu adventures. They are also among the few small companies providing cruises to Antarctica.

      Why Travel With Them?

For the variety of trip type and theme you can choose from. They have food and wine tours, adventure tours, beach getaways, and cruises - all of which are customizable to your likes and dislikes. If you’d prefer not to overly customize, they have pre-set itineraries as well.
