Itinerary
Start your trip by heading to Voss and cross Norway's longest fjord, the Sognefjord. Make sure you stop often enough to enjoy the views on the way to your destination Fjærland Fjordstue Hotel.
Meander around the Lusterfjord in the inner reaches of the Sognefjord. You will drive through some of Norway's most spectacular and scenic areas, past the UNESCO's World Heritage Urnes Stave Church and through picturesque small villages.
Drive north via Stryn to Ålesund, famous for its Art Nouveau architecture. Starting early will allow the time for a side trip to the famous Briksdal Glacier. The city of Ålesund is known for its architecture in Art Nouveau style, its surrounding fjords and the high peaks of the Sunnmøre Alps. Stay overnight at Hotel Brosundet.
After a morning of exploring Ålesund make the short drive to Juvet Landscape Hotel near the spectacular Gudbrandsjuvet falls. Juvet is like nothing else in Norway, as it combines the traditional old with modern architecture right in the middle of dramatic Norwegian scenery.
You have a day at leisure to explore the area including the Geirangerfjord – Norway’s best known fjord.
Today your drive takes you to the dramatic hairpin bends of the Troll Road, Norwegian’s only road with a “Troll Crossing” sign. Continue via Molde and experience one of the most fascinating road stretches in Norway, as you drive along the Atlantic Road that zig...
Explore the surroundings by foot, or just spend the day relaxing. You can easily head off on a deep sea fishing trip or try your luck hand fishing at the local pier. Crab fishing is lots of fun here. Diving and hiking options are also available.
Enjoy the majestic sceneries on the way to your final destination Trondheim, the first capital of Norway founded by Viking King Olav Tryggvason in AD 997. A well-deserved night in the heart of the city finishes this dramatic drive.
Our services finish after breakfast.

50 Degrees North is a niche, independently owned, specialist travel company that aims to give you a little more than just a holiday.
50 Degrees North specializes in holiday travel to Scandinavia, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, the Arctic. We specialize regionally, as we believe it is not possible to be good at everything. We also focus on offering the most enriching style of travel.
WHY TRAVEL WITH US?
There are many reasons to book your Nordic or Arctic holiday with us, and here are a few to think about;
You get to speak with a passionate local Scandinavian with firsthand knowledge from the region. Be sure to check us out here.
- All our sales staff and owners are Scandinavians, and we know our home region like the back of our hand. This expertise is unique in the industry, and adds significant value to each booking, ensuring our customers have the best possible holiday experience.
- As Scandinavians, we have a strong relationship with local suppliers and hoteliers. We contract directly with local guides, hoteliers and transport companies. There are no middlemen taking a cut, and our rates are competitive. That said; we are not in the game of competing for the cheapest available rate of the day. The personal touch and care we provide for every trip we put together goes far beyond anything offered through an online booking site.
- We keep updated on local conditions to benefit your holiday. This may include; a) knowledge on which areas of town have building works taking place which may affect your good night’s sleep; b) knowledge of which cruise ship may be docking in small fjord villages when you happen to be there seeking peace and quiet; c) alternative transport options taking you away from the crowds.
- 50 Degrees North has offices in Lillehammer (Norway) as well as Melbourne, (Australia) and will be able to respond to sales and operational inquiries in three time zones.
