Accommodation

,Tikal Inn The Tikal Inn is only a 10-minute walk to the center of the Mayan ruins (Plaza Major). With traditional architecture, the Inn is located at the edge of the jungle. Its is one of two hotels within the boundaries of the National Park, surrounded by the pristine rainforest in Peten. The Tikal Inn has 17 rooms as well as bungalows. All rooms have private bathrooms and are clean and simple. The area where the park is located has a tropical climate. Rain is falling all year round, especially between May and November. The rainiest months are June, September and October with levels that exceed 200 mm, the rest of the months are over 100 mm. The rain levels do not exceed 100 mm between December and March. The Tikal Inn also features a swimming pool and in the hotel gardens you can admire the keel-billed toucans, howler and spider monkeys. The accommodations at the Tikal Inn include showers, two double beds, ceiling fans, private porch and a symphony, courtesy of the jungle. Since Tikal Inn is located in the National Park, the only source of power is a generator located at the research facility of the park. Therefore the hotel has limited electricity and no power between 10 PM and 6 AM. Cancellation policy

In order to confirm this trip, a deposit of $500 is required at the time of booking. A Reservation Form, which includes a release of liability, must be completed and signed by all travelers. The balance of the trip price is due 90 days before the departure date. Guests who must cancel their trip for any reason must do so in writing. Cancellations are subject to the following fees, based on number of days prior to departure:

Up to 91 days - 50% of deposit

90 to 31 days - 50% of total trip cost

30 to 0 days - 100% of total trip cost

Trip level II

Our level two trips are designed for more ambitious travelers who enjoy some physical challenge. Expect three to six hours of activity each day over moderate terrain with occasional steep slopes and/or difficult footing. Travelers should be comfortable hiking or walking three to seven miles each day. Level two trips include opportunities for additional activities such as road or mountain biking, trekking, scuba diving, caving, white water rafting Class III-IV and more strenuous hiking. While most level two trips utilize lodges and hotels any trip that involves camping is rated level two.

Reservations

All persons wishing to make a reservation, and all persons who will be traveling, must complete and sign the Traveller Information Form. All reservations are made with Adventure Smith Travel Services Inc., d/b/a Adventure Smith Explorations. No person has any authority on Adventure Smith Explorations’ behalf to vary these terms and conditions.

Unused services & personal expenses

Regardless of any other term in this agreement, partial refunds are not available for unused services including but not limited to hotel rooms, meals, air or land transportation, activity days or other sightseeing excursions. You will not be reimbursed for any personal expenses such as airfare, hotel or other travel expenses due to changes in itineraries or cancellations. If a portion of the services of your tour are cancelled by us or our third party supplier because of an event within our control or the control of our third party supplier, and you are not offered a replacement or alternative, we will refund the cost of that portion of the services.

Severability

If any provision of this agreement shall be unenforceable or invalid under any applicable law, such unenforceability or invalidity shall not render the agreement unenforceable or invalid as a whole. Such unenforceable provision will be replaced with one that is valid and enforceable and which achieves, to the extent possible, the original objectives and intent of the original provision.
