What's this trip about?

This tour offers the opportunity to focus in depth on the great museum collections of Egyptian, Near Eastern, Classical and Asian art in Paris, while getting to know the City of Light itself. For all who have visited Egypt, Turkey, Syria, Greece, Italy of Southeast Asia, or will visit these places, the tour will be a wonderful eye-opener, filling in the spaces between the ancient sites with a treasure trove of renowned objects. As our days often begin with delightful guided walks through architecturally significant neighborhoods, the layers of Paris and its art will carry us from pagan antiquity to important works of Christian and Jewish art, and breathtaking paintings from Impressionism and the advent of Modernism to the contemporary art scene. Our long stay in this vibrant city will also give us ample opportunity to take advantage of Paris’s cultural season.

For the past 40 years, Archaeological Tours has been arranging specialized tours for a discriminating clientele. Our tours feature distinguished scholars who emphasize the historical, anthropological and archaeological aspects of the areas visited. We offer a unique opportunity for tour participants to see and understand historically important and culturally significant areas of the world.

Our lecturers are carefully selected not only for qualities of scholarly excellence, but for their ability to communicate and their willingness to share the experience of discovery.

In addition to our lecturer and local guide, all ARCHAEOLOGICAL TOURS are escorted throughtout the tour. The tour escort will look after all the details, handle all the tipping (included in all our tours),

It is the philosophy of Archaeological Tours that travel to foreign lands should not isolate you from the inhabitants, hence we choose the best available accommodations in the mainstream of local life. We know you have interests beyond history and archaeology and so we provide time to stroll through markets and include cultural performances as well as a sampling of the local foods. ARCHAEOLOGICAL TOURS is a small company offering the highest level of personalized service to our clients. We will be happy to arrange an early arrival or a customized extended stay after our tour.
