We’ve been sharing our love of adventure with our guests since 1974. Our insider’s knowledge and key contacts in each destination allow us to offer unique experiences and encounters that give our guests an in-depth feel for the local people and their way of life. After being acquired in 2013, we can now combine our 40+ years of experience satisfying guests with Xanterra Parks & Resorts’ 100+ years of award-winning excellence in the travel and hospitality industries. In addition to Austin Adventures, the Xanterra portfolio includes dozens of operations in many of the country’s most popular national parks as well as other travel and tour providers including Windstar Cruises and VBT Bicycling and Walking Vacations.

As the United States’ largest operator of park-based hotels, restaurants and stores, Xanterra could not be a more advantageous parent company for Austin Adventures. Need a room in Yellowstone at the last minute or a behind-the-scenes look at life in Crater Lake? It helps if you have the park’s concessionaire on your side!

For Adventure Travel - Smaller Works Best

Dan Austin, founder and president, is very involved with day-to-day operations and is always available for questions and comments.  We’ve learned from experience that keeping things small is important, so we never have more than 12 guests on our adult trips and 18 on our family adventures. Our 6:1 guest-to-guide ratio is one of the lowest in the industry and affords each traveler a much more intimate and authentic experience.  Of course, we also offer custom trips designed for solo travelers, couples and families.

Personalized Just For You

Our extraordinary guides will take the time to learn about each traveler in their group, finding unexpected and memorable ways to make your vacation extra special. On an Austin Adventures trip, you can choose your speed. Go for intense activity, kick-backed relaxation, or something in between. Most importantly, we know we still have things to learn.  We listen and use our guest feedback every day to ensure we are meeting their expectations for an unforgettable adventure vacation.

Authentic and Distinctive Lodging and Cuisine

Our trips are designed to deliver surprising luxury with an absence of pretension. We’ve done our research and know the best accommodations in each region. Whether you dine in a five-star restaurant or are served by the campfire, you will enjoy the finest local cuisine and libations—skillfully-prepared and tastefully-presented. Austin Adventures considers every guest to be a VIP and regardless of destination, always aims to deliver on your high standards for luxury, quality and comfort.

Travel Safe and Assured

Our experienced guides are the cream of the crop. They are all first-aid certified and are passionate about the regions, trails and activities that make up an AA vacation. Our operational logistics and contingency planning ensures you are well taken care of regardless of the circumstances. To back up our strong commitment to the highest levels of guest service, we offer all of our travelers up to a full money back guarantee, a rarity among luxury adventure travel companies. If we did everything possible, but somehow we missed the mark and you’re not satisfied with your Austin Adventure experience, call one of our travel experts and we’ll make sure to right the wrong.

Tour Types:

Adult Adventure Vacations:

Whether you want to go solo, as a couple or as a small group of friends, Austin Adventures offers worthwhile, and relaxing, multisport vacations to some of the world’s most beautiful places. Each activity can be tailored to align with your interest and ability level. Each day begins and ends with the best in distinctive food and accommodations.

Family Adventure Vacations:

We wrote the formula for family adventure vacations. Our one-of-a-kind kid-friendly activities and adventures in popular destinations around the world make for memorable family vacations that you’ll never forget. Trust our expert guides, and see for yourself how rewarding and fun family travel can be when it’s done right!

Custom Vacation Packages:

Looking for an exclusive and adventure-filled escape that is all about you? Austin Adventures has skilled specialists who can help turn your dream vacation into a reality. Even Dan Austin, Founder and President of Austin Adventures, loves the challenge of designing a custom luxury vacation package.
