,Grand Canyon South Rim Lodges Grand Canyon South Rim El Tovar Historic Hotel and Thunderbird, Yavapai, Bright Angle, and Maswik lodges. **El Tovar - a celebrated Historic Hotel located directly on the rim of the Grand Canyon first opened its doors in 1905. The hotel was built from local limestone and Oregon pine. It cost $250,000 to build, and many considered it the most elegant hotel west of the Mississippi River. In 1987 the Hotel was designated a National Historic Landmark. **Bright Angel Lodge - designed in 1935 by famed Southwest architect Mary Jane Colter, it has a natural rustic character, and is a Registered National Historic Landmark. This iconic lodge and its surrounding cabins are rich with cultural history. **Yavapai Lodge - Natural beauty meets the magic of convenience. About a mile walk from the canyon's South Rim and steps from the general store, bank and post office, Yavapai Lodge occupies a prime location in the Park. **Maswik Lodge - The Maswik Lodge today is a 250-room lodging complex nestled within several acres of Ponderosa pine forest. It is located just a short walk or quarter-mile from the canyon’s edge. **Thunderbird Lodge - Built in the late 1960’s the lodge sits directly on the rim of the Grand Canyon and many guests choose Thunderbird due to its prominent location in the center of the historic district.   Phantom Ranch Grand Canyon Phantom Ranch is a historic oasis nestled at the bottom of Grand Canyon. It is on the north side of the Colorado River tucked in beside Bright Angel Creek. Phantom is the only lodging below the canyon rim, and can only be reached by mule, on foot or by rafting the Colorado River. In the 1920’s, the National Park Service selected the Fred Harvey Company to build a tourist facility within the canyon. The rustic cabins and main lodge are built of wood and native stone blending with the natural beauty of the setting. Dormitories – These accommodations are available to hikers only. There are 2 male dorms and 2 female dorms. Each dorm has 5 bunk beds, a shower and restroom. Bedding and towels are provided for each guest occupying a dorm bed. Cancellation policy

Cancellation:  Once your deposit is received, a reservation confirmation is made and final payment is due 60 days prior to tour departure.  If you wish to cancel your tour, you must submit your request to us in writing by email or postal mail.  If a cancellation is made after receipt of the deposit but before the 60-day final payment due date, all deposits are returned except US$200 per person. Within 60 days, but more than 45 days, the entire deposit becomes non-refundable, and from 45 days additional cancellation penalties may apply, up to 100% of tour costs. No refunds are available once the trip commences. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS to this cancellation policy, including for reasons related to weather, terrorism, civil strife, personal, family or medical emergencies or any other circumstances beyond our control.  For this reason, we strongly encourage Participants to purchase trip cancellation and interruption insurance.

Pre-Departure Cancellations or Changes by Pure Adventures: We reserve the right to cancel any tour prior to departure for any reason. While it is rare, in the event of cancellation, a check for a full refund will be issued to you, which constitutes full settlement.  If the tour is cancelled within 45 days of departure, an additional discount will be made for an alternate trip with Pure Adventures or one of its affiliates in addition to the full refund.  In the event that, prior to departure, we make any significant changes because of a problem with a supplier, for example a hotel bankruptcy, we will, as soon as reasonably possible, notify you of available alternatives.  Such changes may require a supplemental payment from you or possibly a refund.  No refunds under this paragraph will be provided due to cancellations or changes due to Force Majeure.

No Reimbursements Due to Changes or Cancellations: We will not reimburse Participants for any personal expenses such as airline tickets, other travel or hotel expenses due to changes in itineraries or tour cancellations.
