Itinerary

Day 1 BRISBANE, TOOWOOMBA
Departing Brisbane we commence our floral themed, springtime tour as we travel inland to the garden city of Toowoomba. Enjoy a town tour and also a visit to the heritage listed art deco styled Empire Theatre. Our home for the next two nights is Eastgate on the Range Motel.

Day 2 TOOWOOMBA
Toowoomba is awash with colour and we spend the day immersing ourselves in the 68th annual Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. Throughout the day we visit several magnificent garden and floral displays and have ample time to explore at your leisure.

Day 3 TENTERFIELD, ARMIDALE
We begin our journey south, crossing the border into NSW. We arrive into Tenterfield in time for lunch, after which we visit the Tenterfield Saddler, made famous in song by Peter Allen. We continue to the Northern Tablelands to the picturesque city of Armidale. Our hotel tonight, the All Seasons Motel Armidale.

Day 4 TAMWORTH, SINGLETON, NEWCASTLE
Tamworth is Australia’s home of country music and we get a first-hand look at its rich history this morning when we visit The Big Golden Guitar Centre. This afternoon we travel to Singleton via the Upper Hunter town of Muswellbrook, later reaching the coastal resort city of Newcastle. Our home for two nights is the Best Western Apollo International.

Day 5 HUNTER VALLEY GARDENS
A highlight as we visit the magnificent Hunter Valley Gardens, located amongst the vineyards of the Hunter wine region. We enjoy a guided tour around the 25 hectares of sensational sights, colours and fragrances on board a miniature train. There is ample time to stroll and explore the gardens before we visit the Village shops.

Day 6 RIVERBOAT POSTMAN CRUISE, MITTAGONG
Another highlight today as we travel to Brooklyn where we join the Riverboat Postman on his daily postal run to the communities along the Hawkesbury River. A unique and enjoyable experience. On return to Brooklyn we reboard our coach and travel through Sydney’s suburbs to Mittagong and our hotel, Springs Mittagong.

Day 7 BOWRAL TULIP FESTIVAL, GOULBURN, CANBERRA
This morning we visit Corbett Gardens, home to the tulip display at the Bowral Tulip Festival, one of Australia’s oldest floral festivals. Lunch here before we travel to Goulburn, visiting St Saviour’s Anglican Cathedral, the most richly decorated of any Australian church. Later we reach Canberra and our home for three nights, Rydges Capital Hill.

Day 8 TELSTRA TOWER, CANBERRA FLORIADE, NIGHTFEST
We marvel in the spectacular views over Canberra from the Telstra Tower at Black Mountain, then it’s time to visit the annual Spring Floriade! With over one million blooms, it’s a sea of colour! Ample time here to fully appreciate this grand floral display. Following an earlier dinner we return to Floriade for Nightfest, a spectacular after-dark extravaganza.

Day 9 LAKE BURLEY GRIFFIN CRUISE, NATIONAL ARBORETUM
This morning we take a leisurely cruise on beautiful Lake Burley Griffin, the centrepiece of the capital. Our afternoon is spent at the National Arboretum, home to the Canberra Discovery Garden. At the heart of the Arboretum is the village centre offering sweeping panoramic views over Canberra and beyond.

Day 10 GUNDAGAI, ALBURY, BRIGHT
Departing Canberra we stop for photos at the iconic Dog on the Tucker Box in Gundagai, continuing on to Albury for lunch. Crossing the border into Victoria we arrive in Bright and spend some time exploring the beautiful tree lined streets and browsing the shops and galleries. Our home for the night is the Ovens Valley Motor Inn.

Day 11 BRIGHT, KILMORE, MELBOURNE
Our tri-state journey draws to a close as we depart for Kilmore, enjoying a farewell lunch at the Racing Club. Our enjoyable floral adventure concludes on arrival into Melbourne.
