We have just finished a fantastic trip of a lifetime aboard the Good Ship Tarsan . With the top crew of Captain Peter, Chief Engineer Dr.Ryan, Bosun Michael and MasterChef Steph.. we could not have wished for a more professional, customer focussed and attentive crew. The Tarsan is a comfortable, traditional ship and served us well on our journey through the beautiful waters and islands of this very special pert of the world. We saw sea eagles, seals, porpoises, minke whales, all types of seabirds, giant jelly fish and a final and very close encounter with a pod of dolphins. Our fellow guests were lovely and were great company during the cosy evenings. I would recommend this trip for anyone wanting a great 3 night adventure. The scenery is magical and if you get great companions and a a crew as good as ours you will be very lucky. 5 stars from us.

What a truly wonderful experience we enjoyed on our three night taster cruise, on the Glen Tarsen, around the inner Hebrides. The food was gorgeous, and appreciated so much, as well as the company aboard, who were all so very friendly. Thankyou to all for our fantastic memories.

Just wanted to thank you and everyone at the Majestic Line for a wonderful week on the Glen Tarsan .You handled everything very efficiently, and the crew were magnificent. Very helpful, flexible, and good humoured. The food was delicious and the scenery as always gorgeous. We were lucky with the weather..just a few showers but enough for the group to see Scotland and the Isles in all its moods! Nothing to touch your part of the world at this time of year when the weather behaves (most of the time!). The Skipper and I spent a lot of time together on the bridge looking for whales, puffins and eagles and the next trip will see even more opportunities for wildlife spotting.

I was very impressed with the Family Adventure company in terms of the holiday delivered which was exceptional. The booking and pre-holiday experience was fine although it would be better to have a specific contact to email rather than just to phone the general number with queries.

Booking and customer service were good. From a child's perspective

Booking and customer service were good. From a child's perspective, FAC were not as welcoming. Another company we have travelled with sent a welcome pack with a travelling companion (soft toy) and activities to do while travelling. When on the holiday this company also catered more for families needs e.g. more frequent stops when travelling for food and toilets, without parents having to ask. The stops were also at more sensible times e.g. making sure there was a stop at lunch time (12.30ish), rather than early afternoon (1.30 onwards). Children (and adults) get irritable if they've not eaten making the journey more stressful.

    About The Majestic Line

Since 2004, the Majestic Line has operated cruises in Scotland revealing the hidden beauty of sheltered sea lochs.

    What Makes Them Stand Out?

The Majestic Line aims to delight guests with breathtaking scenery, shore trips, and meals from locally-sourced ingredients.

    Who Travels With Them?

The Majestic Line accommodates solo travelers, groups, couples, and children over age 12 (except for full-boat charters with no age restrictions).

    Where Do They Operate?

The Majestic Line explores Argyll and The Hebrides on the west coast of Scotland.

    Why Travel With Them?

With each itinerary on The Majestic Line, stopover and anchorage options give travelers the flexibility to choose their activities. The Majestic Lines’ smaller vessels also make it possible to visit idyllic marine and wildlife habitats that larger ships may not be able to visit.

    About The Family Adventure Company

Founded two decades ago and based in the UK, The Family Adventure Company specializes in small group family adventure vacations. The company is now part of the global adventure travel operator Intrepid Travel, and trips are offered through Intrepid as well, allowing them to greatly expand their range.

    What Makes Them Stand Out?

With more than 20 years’ experience, The Family Adventure Company helped pioneer the concept of small-group adventure travel for families with young children. Activities are wide-ranging, from river rafting and kayaking to cycling, sailing, camping, and wildlife viewing, all geared to the ages and interests of the family travelers.

    Who Travels With Them?

A wide variety of families, including solo-parent, single-child, multi-generational families -- parents, children, and grandparents traveling together -- and families with teenagers. The latter have dedicated trips of special interest to teens.

    Where Do They Operate?

Much of the world: Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.

    How Does it Work?

No matter where you travel, The Family Adventure Company provides an English-speaking, family-friendly local leader. Lodging, transportation and activities are also included. Tours typically consist of three or four families with kids of similar ages or interests. (You can also put together your own trip with just your family or other families you’re friendly with.) Children 14 and under get a ten percent discount off adult prices; large families (over two kids) get another price break.

    Why Travel With Them?

The award winning company offers a wide range of trips for a wide variety of families. Because they only cater to families, they know what kids like – and as any parent can tell you, nothing is more disastrous than a family tour not geared in any way to kids. The company also supports responsible and sustainable travel practices and gives back to local communities.
