Everything was perfect on the Santa Cruz II. They welcomed us at the airport in Guayaquil, welcomed us again in Baltra, helped us to the pangas (boats) which took us to the ship, and everything proceeded point perfectly from then on. Our cabin was spacious and comfortable, always clean (crew comes in three times a day!). The food was excellent with tremendous choice, including juice and a snack when we returned from a trip off the boat. We had many activities from hikes to snorkelling, kayaking, glass bottom boats, and more. The explanations were perfect, briefing us on the day's events ahead of time, and all of the options open to us. The guides were all well-informed and spoke in many languages to accommodate the diverse group. We also loved meeting all the other guests who were from around the world. I can't think of a thing that didn't go well. Everyone was friendly and helpful from beginning to end. I HIGHLY recommend this company.

We enjoyed a 5 night cruise on the Santa Cruz 2, and it surpassed our expectations. The crew was extremely friendly, our naturalist guide was highly knowledgeable and interesting, the food was delicious and our cabin was very comfortable. I enjoyed the sun deck as well as the gym on board. We had a variety of outdoor options- snorkelling kayaking, nature walks, biking, swimming, and glass bottom boat. I found the itinerary to be fun and varied. I would highly recommend this company, especially this ship, to others.

Metropolitan Touring was exceptional on our recent trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos. The trip started in Quito where we had a wonderful guide for an all day tour that kept all seven of us interested all day. We visited several areas including two of the most beautiful churches I've ever seen.
We then flew to the Galapagos to board La Pinta and had a remarkable 7 day cruise. The ship was exceptionally comfortable and the rooms, by cruising standards, were very spacious. The food was outstanding and the sights and activities were just perfect. Probably most importantly, the staff was remarkable. The naturalists (all but especially Carlos) were terrific and the wait staff was truly amazing. Luis helped our family navigate several allergies and genuinely cared that we had a great experience.
Everything about Metropolitan was professional, well organized and first rate. We wouldn't hesitate to travel with them again in the future!

This is a holiday gave me a chance to slow down, and take the time to feel part of the natural world: the sun, to notice the hook-beaked oyster catchers and families of rare seals, to enjoy the wonderful food, the sunshine, scudding clouds, waves lapping and the feeling of being held safely by the St Hilda whilst being at the mercy of winds, tides and waves. It was fun to share tasks with fellow passengers and to laugh. I haven't laughed so much for years. And I loved seeing beautiful coastal parts of Scotland for the first time from the sea, gaining the chance to wonder at the histories and cultures that have flourished, been lost and yet live on in the remote, unusual places where we moored. I discovered my sea-legs, but I found much more - the pleasure of a little bit of distance from land, the new perspectives it gives and sheer joy of experiencing the sea, and its role in revealing new dreams and uncovering old ones. All this was in the company of knowledgeable crew - sea-farers who made the whole cruise delightful from start to finish and easy-peasy for a land-lubber like myself.

This was a fantastic holiday - there is something magical about being in a ship, relying on wind and waves, seeing beautiful scenery, eating lovely food, helping sail the ship and enjoying the experience with a group of witty, friendly, knowledgeable people.

It's fascinating to be on a slow journey

This holiday was like no other: it was stepping into another world where the wind, sun and sea mattered because our lives were held by the ship and these big elemental forces. It was a realm of sea faring lore, laughter and fun, where the elements - water, wind and tides - mattered and shaped and influenced our journey. It's easy to laugh on a ship because you are sharing the camaraderie of crew and ocean and somehow the sea is lighter than the land. Instead you have the myths and stories of sea and mysteries of the deep - Moby Dick, Jonah, Noah's Ark and Ring of Bright Water! It's fascinating to be on a slow journey with time to reflect and to be looking at the strange, populated and then depopulated, fought over Scottish coastal landscape from a new perspectives. It's fun to work with the charming, witty, friendly skippers and fellow crew hauling anchors and sails. But, most of all, it's a joy to be on, and in, and feeling the elemental ocean. I felt safe and found my sea-legs, but I also stumbled into a new world, one that enriches and ignites dreams.
