What travelers are saying

"We have loved Gate 1 and always sing their praises. We've been on 7 tours with another one booked for fall. We were supposed to leave for Ecuador this week, however the country is in a 60 day state of emergency with the escape of 2 infamous gang members. Tourists are advised to stay indoors and there is a daily curfew from 11pm-5am. (our flight was to land at 11:15pm). Our trip included stays in 2 of the main cities of unrest. There have been shootings, car bombings, hostage taking, closing of embassies, and other countries issuing do not travel warnings. Other tour companies have cancelled tours or offered refunds or rescheduling. Travel insurance does not cover wars or civil unrest, but we are clearly afraid to go there. Both we and our travel agent have reached out multiple times with our concerns and asked if we could reschedule or get some sort of credit. We continue to get the same reply either in person or via email...Gate 1 has your safety as our highest priority and we feel you are safe ("they are not targeting tourists") and your itinerary should not be impacted. What? Their highest priority is $ and not our safety. There is no way that's the tour we anticipated. We cancelled the trip and took a 90% penalty, loss of deposit, and $276 airline penalty. It's a LOT of money, but we would have been terrified, and it's not worth getting hurt or worse. Sorry, but it's not the company I want to do business with in the future."

What travelers are saying

"My friend and I had the privilege of working with Deepak at Gets Holidays to design a unique private tour that included the Goldent Triangle , Varanasi, Ranthambhore, Lucknow and Jodphur. The planning for our India visit was so nicely done that we asked to add Bhutan to our tour. The trips to both India and Bhutan could not have been better. They far exceeded all expectations. Every detail was perfect. We enjoyed door to door service for every activity and stop, and had outstanding local guides for each unique location. I really can’t emphasize enough the quality of care we had during this trip. The talent of our local guides should really be highlighted. Each represented their world to us with passion, knowledge, experience and enthusiasm. We were treated as family and it made it easy and fun to enjoy what we were learning while generating in us an eagerness to learn even more about what we were experiencing. Thanks to everyone at Gets Holidays for these outstanding experiences. I travel a lot and I can honestly say that these were the best tours I have ever had. I highly recommend Gets Holidays to anyone else that is looking for a high quality tour in some very unique places in India and Bhutan. You will not be disappointed."

What travelers are saying

"We have done the 8 days Lhasa - Shigatze - Mt Everest tour, and added a couple of days of private tour at the end. Our contact person, Beatrice, was wonderful. She helped us at every step, including a last minute hotel change. (I recommend staying at the Shang Bala hotel in Lhasa. We "upgraded" to the 4 -Point Sheraton first. Big mistake. The Shang Bala is nicer, more interesting, and at a much better location. Cheaper too.) Our guide was Dhargye. He took care of us during our trip, explained Tibet and its history, culture, and in general made the trip very enjoyable. Thank you, Dhargye!"
