He was friendly and knowledgeable about all things Japanese - he felt more like a friend than a tour leader! The accommodation on the tour was generally ok - the hotel rooms were very small with little or no storage, which meant that we had to live out of our suitcases for virtually the whole trip. This may be just how Japanese hotel rooms are though! The ryokan in Hakone was great - a real highlight of the tour, and the Japanese owners there were lovely!"
