Opportunity to tour over Arusha is the safari capital of Tanzania. Dramatically set below Mount Meru, this quirky, rapidly-growing town has a real frontier atmosphere, buzzing with the energy of people heading out and returning from safari. Also enjoy the tour exploring to Tarangire National Park which is Located just to the south of Lake Manyara in northern Tanzania, Tarangire National Park is perhaps the best place to see massive herds of elephant in the region. At last count there were over 3,000 elephant in the park.

This trip will takes you to visit Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater as well as the vast endless plains of Serengeti. One of the greatest Spectacles of the Serengeti takes place with the wildebeest calving season. Travel through breath-taking landscapes with exciting and exclusive off-Road game drives in Ndutu, the calving grounds for the Great Migration. Be in the midst of thousands of wildebeest, zebras and witness a baby Wildebeest take off running just minutes after being born.

Itinerary: Essence of Tanzania

Day 1 - 2: Tanzania: Arusha - Rivertrees Country Inn, Garden Room

Today you will fly into Kilimanjaro. A special meet & greet has been arranged for your arrival to assist you through customs, immigration and to collect your bags. Please look out for an airport representative with your name on a signboard. You will be assisted to meet with your driver for your private road transfer to your accommodation.

Rivertrees Country Inn is a charming country estate that was once an old coffee farm, and still retains the nostalgic air of a well-loved homestead. Sprawling 10 acres of fertile greenery, the grounds are a natural extension of Mt Meru’s sloping foothills, and offer a sanctuary for the birds and wildlife indigenous to the area. Elegantly rustic cottages are dotted along the river and in thickets of tall trees, while lush lawns and birdsong make for a peaceful and picturesque setting.

Day 3 - 4: Tanzania: Tarangire National Park - Kuro Camp, Safari Tent

This morning you will transfer with your guide by road to Tarangire National Park and your next accommodation.

Kuro Camp is set in central Tarangire away from the busy north, amid a grove of Acacia and Kigelia trees on the banks of the Tarangire River- often a dry, sandy course snaking through this quiet area of the park. The camp has a total of 6 light and stylish safari tented rooms. All the rooms rest among the trees with views of the African bush and have en-suite bucket showers and flush eco-toilets.

Day 4: Night Game Drive

The adventure doesn’t end at sunset; continue your drive through the vast wilderness in search of game as it gets dark. Sway to the movement of an open vehicle while wrapped warmly against the night cold. You might hear the call of a Nightjar darting overhead, or see the flash of eyes reflected from the bushes. Drop your head back and look up at the crisp night skies that seem to go on forever. You guide will pull out the spotlight, giving you the opportunity to spot a host of nocturnally active animals such as hyena, lion or leopard. Keep an eye out for other creatures of the night such as porcupines, civets and genets.

Day 5 - 6: Tanzania: Ngorongoro Crater - Plantation Lodge, Double Room

Today you will be met at your accommodation and driven to your next accommodation.

The Plantation Lodge is located just outside the small village of Karatu about half way between the Crater and Lake Manyara. This makes it the perfect spot for those looking for a safari day in each and a lovely, peaceful place to go back to afterwards. The 15 rooms, 7 suites and 2 family units are all individually furnished, melting harmoniously into the flowering garden offering comfort and relaxation. All rooms have private en-suite bathrooms with a verandah or terrace with a view of the gardens. Facilities include a swimming pool, souvenir shop and beauty treatments.

Day 5: Private Vehicle and Guide

Today you will met by your guide with private vehicle which you will have available to you for the remainder of your trip.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Drive

Today you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact, unflooded caldera in the world. The crater is a World Heritage Site, commonly considered the 8th Wonder 0f The World. The enduring charm of Ngorongoro Crater stems from its overwhelming physical beauty and the abundance of wildlife that permanently reside on the crater floor.

Depending on the season, populations of approximately 25,000 to 30,000 large animals live in the crater. This includes, reputedly, the highest density of mammalian predators in Africa. An astonishing 55 different species of mammal have been counted in the crater together with over 400 species of birds, so your wildlife viewing is going to be spectacular. Aside from herds of zebra, gazelle, and wildebeest, the crater is home to the "Big Five" of rhinoceros, lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo. Hyenas are the most numerous predators and are constantly at war with the lion. There are also ongoing skirmishes between buffalo and lion.

Day 7 - 9: Tanzania: Serengeti National Park - Legendary Serengeti Mobile Camp, Tent

After breakfast this morning, you will be transferred to the local airstrip for your flight to Serengeti National Park, then by road your next accommodation.

Lake Manyara - Serengeti National Park, Shared Charter flight

Accommodation:

Legendary Serengeti Mobile Camp is set up near the Great Migration in the famous Serengeti, where great migration herds of more than 2 million wildebeest & zebra and their attendant predators are constantly on the move, driven by an endless search for food and water. The camp consists of 10 en-suite tents. The bathrooms have flush toilets and bucket-style showers. Breakfast or lunch is often set up under shade of an old tree on the untamed Serengeti plains. Evenings are spent enjoying fine wine or well-aged toast around a roaring campfire under a star-filled sky.

Day 10:

This morning you will transfer to the local airstrip for your flight to Arusha. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to Rivertrees Country Inn, where you will have a day use room to refresh and relax. Later this evening you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro in time to connect with your international departure flight.

Itinerary: 10-Day Wildebeest Calving Season Safari

Day 01: Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport – Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, our VIP Visa Specialist will meet and welcome you to East Africa. He guide you through the entire Tanzania Visa application process and skipping long immigration queues. With Galloping Safaris, you will be escorted from arrival to departure, making your arrival to Tanzania completely worry-free. Upon exiting the airport, a Galloping Safaris representative will be holding a poster with your name who will transfer you to Arusha (45-60 minutes) for the Serenity retreat of Lake Duluti Coffee Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 02: Tarangire National Park – Game drive - Sundowner + Cocktails

Depart 08h30 from Arusha with 4x4x and drive to Tarangire National Park is a unique place and an absolutely fantastic in this time of the year. Viewing some of Tanzania's largest populations of elephant and enjoying the diverse scenery, including the dramatic baobab trees that are so typical of the park. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the stretch of Tarangire River. More game drive until end of the day you drive to Sanctuary Swala Camp for dinner and overnight.

However it is the pure delight and sheer pleasure of luxury tents that will remain with you for years to come, and will keep you returning, if only in spirit, to this delightfully dreamlike lodge. Sunset Hill is the perfect locations to sit atop and enjoy the deep orange sunsets that often welcome in the starry skies. With food and drinks served by one of the staff, this is truly a magical experience not to be missed.

Day 03: Lake Manyara National Park – Game drive – Sundowner

Breakfast with best fine view and you leave the camp and with en-route game drive to Tarangire gate for exit and drive the short distance to Lake Manyara National Park for Full Day game viewing to this unique park with an alkaline lake and breathtaking views. Here you will view a wide variety of wildlife and the acacia woodlands offer the best overall wildlife viewing in the park. Enjoy your picnic lunches under the Acacia trees. This habitat is favored by the park's famous tree-climbing lions, leopards and giraffes and can claim the greatest elephant concentration in East Africa. Algae thrive in the high saline content of the lake. Huge and colorful flocks of birds gather in the water to feed, including many different varieties of birds that coexist together. In fact, well over 300 different species of birds have been recorded here, continue with afternoon game drive and later drive to the Lush retreat of Plantation Lodge & Spa for cocktails drinks dinner and overnight-Coffee House Suite.

Day 04: Ngorongoro Crater Africa’s “Garden of Eden”.

Early breakfast and drive the short distance to Ngorongoro Loduare gate and today you will explore the famous Ngorongoro Crater during a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater often described as one of the Wonders of the world. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest Animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, Hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only. Drive back to The Plantation Lodge for guided walk around the farm & coffee plantation or Relax at the retreat-Coffee Suite.

Day 05: Ndutu Plains - Southern Serengeti to see the Wildebeest Migration Calvin Season.

The Ndutu plains is a seasonal location tucked between the NCAA and Serengeti which allows off-road game drives, perfect for migration viewing. The Great Migration is a perpetual movement of over 1.5 million of wildebeest, zebra, antelope and other migratory wildlife in search of fresh food and water. From January to February, Ndutu is expected have a dense concentration of migratory herds from as it hosts the highly anticipated calving season. With the gathering of the Great Migration along with thousands of baby calves born every day, predators such as lion, cheetah, leopard, and hyena will also follow in a desperate fight for survival. Be alert for the striped hyena, a rare carnivore which prefers the Ndutu area and often spotted at dusk or dawn. Dinner and overnight at Olakira Camp.

Day 06: Witness the most amazing wildlife spectacle in Africa, the Great Migration.

Sunrise Safaris Ndutu Plains & Southern Serengeti Plains enjoy bush breakfast. You proceed entirely dictate the pace of your day, in discussion with your guide. Search for lion or cheetah along the edge of the woodland or head out into the vast plains to get in amongst the wildebeest migration, along with herds of zebra and gazelle at every turn.

You'll be surprised by the fabulous variety of birdlife in this area as well as the carpet of flowers that develops with the first rains. Equally impressive are Tanzania’s magical sunsets, which out here are celebrated at traditional “sundowners”… like those you’ll enjoy at your Camp on your final night on safari, followed by a festive farewell dinner and overnight at Olakira Camp.

Day 07: Witness the most amazing wildlife spectacle in Africa, the Great Migration.

Day 08: Central Serengeti to see Big Cats & Large Mammals.

Sunrise Safaris Ndutu Plains & Southern Serengeti Plains enjoy bush breakfast. Serengeti is the only remaining natural grazing ecosystem to be found in the world. With a network of river valleys supplying a stable source of water, the Seronera Valley home to the world’s largest and diverse wildlife population of predators in the world. Excellent encounters are available year round regardless of the season or the location of the great migration. There is simply no better place to observe large carnivores (lion, hyena, cheetah and leopard) in action in the wild along with a diversity of smaller predators (three species of jackals; blacked-back jackal, golden jackal and the more secretive side-striped jackal, bat-eared fox, serval and sandy-coloured caracal. Dinner and overnight at Four Season Safari Lodge- Horizon room upper level with a view the watering hole that is close to the lobby.

Day 09: Central Serengeti to see Mammals & Big cats

Begin your sunrise safaris and return for late breakfast at 09h00. Full day game drives in Serengeti National Park gets its name from the Maasai word Siringitu meaning endless Plain. The Serengeti is located along the rift valley and is abound with geological formations. These exposed rock forms “kopjes” are round as a result of spherical wind weathering. These rich grass plains a result of ash deposited by volcanic eruptions, and is home to 3 million animals. Within these grass plains the scattered kopjes act as a heaven for animals from grass fires, predators and the heat. The game drives in this park are exceptional and game viewing incredible. This park offers the best opportunity of viewing Cheetah, Leopards and Lions. Return for dinner and overnight at Four Season Safari Lodge- Horizon room upper level with a view the watering hole that is close to the lobby.

Day 10: Central Serengeti – Fly to Arusha – Barbecue Lunch Arusha - Kilimanjaro departure

Early start today for an early morning game drive to see also nocturnal predators returning from hunting and animals waking up in early morning light or breakfast at the lodge, and morning go on your final game drive in Serengeti Plains. Keep your eyes open for any elusive wildlife that you may not have seen, transfer to Seronera Airstrip in time for Flight to Arusha Airport. Flight departs Seronera Airstrip at 11h00, arrive Arusha Airport at 12h15. On your arrival at Arusha Airport you will be Meet and greet with your Host Walter and his team and we drive the short distance to Arusha town for fare well deserved Lunch at Local Restaurant here you will have a variety of English – African taste meals with soft drinks & juices – beers.
