Day 1 LYON

Passengers are welcome to board our ship at 6 p.m. After you’ve comfortably settled into your cabins, we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Tonight, we’ll enjoy dinner and an evening of entertainment on board.

Day 2 LYON - COLLONGES-AU-MONT-D'OR

In the morning, join us for a guided tour of the city and a tasting at Paul Bocuse’s Les Halles de Lyon.(1) We’ll cross through the city and go up Fourvière Hill to the white basilica, the best place to take in the view. Then we’ll head over to Vieux Lyon to have a look at its historical homes and the “bouchon” restaurants that are found throughout the district. Learn about the discrete and strategic doorways leading to shortcuts, known as traboules, that go from street to street. Don’t miss the tasting of fine food at Paul Bocuse’s Les Halles de Lyon, a huge, three-story, indoor market where close to 50 shops offer the finest gourmet food. We’ll enjoy a snack of local sausage and cheese, topped off with a lovely glass of wine*.We’ll then join the Saône River and head towards our next port of call, Collonges-au-Mont-d’Or.Offered: Join us for an extraordinary French gastronomic experience at Paul Bocuse’s Abbaye de Collonges.(2) Paul Bocuse was a three-star gourmet chef who was known for his innovative approach to cuisine and his love for fresh ingredients of the highest quality. This will be a singular experience in an exceptional setting where you’ll be able to relish in out-of-this-world courses prepared by some of the most renowned chefs. At the end of our delicious evening, we’ll return on board the ship and start sailing.

Day 2 LYON - COLLONGES-AU-MONT-D'OR

Day 3 TAIN L'HERMITAGE - AVIGNON

We’ll leave on foot for the tour of the Cité du Chocolat in Tain L’Hermitage. Come and explore, smell, and taste chocolate in all of its forms at the Valrhona discovery center. Lastly, we’ll indulge in a tasting of course!We’ll spend the afternoon cruising to Avignon, reaching it in the evening. Enjoy an evening of onboard entertainment.

Day 4 AVIGNON - ARLES(3)

This morning, join us for a guided tour of the Papal Palace, an imposing fortress and luxurious palace that symbolizes the power of the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages. It is one of the largest and most important Gothic buildings in Europe and the city’s most famous attraction. Take a step back in time as you stroll through the immense halls, contemplate the beauty of the chapels, and visit the papal apartments.OrJoin us for an excursion to the Luberon and a tour of the Sénanque Abbey(4), Nestling in the heart of the Vaucluse mountains and the Luberon nature park, Sénanque Abbey, a 12th-century Cistercian abbey, is still home to a community of monks. This majestic edifice is one of the region's most emblematic treasures. During your visit, you'll discover the cloister and the abbey church. The epitome of traditional Provençal culture, this immense flatland is home to exceptional wildlife and plants which thrive in its marshes, ponds, and seashore. We’ll visit a manade, where bulls are raised and horses are trained, to learn about the various traditions in the area.We’ll spend the afternoon cruising through the gorgeous French countryside, passing by Valence—dominated by its cathedral—and Montélimar, known for its famous nougat.

Day 5 ARLES(3) - VIVIERS

This morning, join us for an excursion to the Camargue and a visit to a manade, where bulls are raised and horses are trained, to learn about the various traditions in the area.We’ll spend the afternoon cruising through the gorgeous French countryside, passing by Valence and Montélimar.

Day 6 VIVIERS - the Gorges de l'Ardèche

This morning, join us for a guided tour of Viviers. This city feels like an open-air museum where the pages of history are written in stone. We’ll visit the smallest cathedral in France, the House of Knights with its superb Renaissance-style facade, Saint Michel Tower, the Great Seminary, and the overlook which gives a lovely view of Viviers.Set out on a visit to the Gorges de l’Ardèche with us this afternoon. This panoramic tour from the comfortable seat of a coach will bring you to the heart of the treasures found in the area. The 18-mile canyon (30 km) was carved by turbulent waters that left behind steep cliffs, deep valleys, dense vegetation, and stunning limestone formations. We’ll see the Pont d'Arc, a natural arch almost 100-feet high carved out by the Ardèche River, and its namesake village, stopping at an overlook to take in the splendid views.We’ll return on board the ship in La Voulte and start sailing towards Lyon. Tonight is our festive gala evening.

Day 6 VIVIERS - the Gorges de l'Ardèche

This morning, join us for a guided tour of Viviers, an open-air museum where the pages of history are written in stone.Set out on a visit to the Gorges de l’Ardèche with us this afternoon. This panoramic tour will bring you to the heart of the treasures found in the area.We’ll return on board the ship in La Voulte and start sailing towards Lyon. Tonight is our festive gala evening.

Arrive in Paris, the City of Lights and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. In the evening, join your Tour Manager and fellow travelers for dinner at a French Bistro

DAY 3, Saturday - Paris City Tour
This morning, take a guided city tour of Paris, including a drive along the Champs Elysées to the Arc de Triomphe. View the Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, the Latin Quarter, and the lively Opera district. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure or, join the optional tour to Versailles to witness the grandeur of French classical architecture on the visit to the Palace and extravagant State Apartments

DAY 4, Sunday - TGV Train to Avignon, Pont du Gard
After breakfast, transfer to the train station for your journey to Provence by the high-speed TGV train. Upon arrival in Avignon, proceed to view the Pont du Gard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is the most ancient Roman aqueduct in France. Next, drive to the Rhone vineyards and the town of Chateauneuf du Pape, where you will sample some of the wines for which Rhone is famous. Transfer to the hotel in Avignon. Later, take an orientation tour with your Tour Manager. View some of the city's landmarks, including the famous broken bridge, and the lively Place d'Horloge, before dinner at a local restaurant

DAY 5, Monday - Medieval Pope's Palace
Today, visit the Papal Palace, one of the largest and most significant medieval Gothic buildings in Europe. Afternoon is at leisure, or join the optional tour to Arles & St. Remy de Provence. Take a tour of Arles where you will see Langlois Bridge, the Roman Amphitheater and the 12th century Cathedral of St. Trophime. Continue to St. Rémy-de-Provence to see Saint-Paul-de-Mausole, the asylum where Van Gogh spent some of his last days. The artist spent a year at the hospital and created some of his most celebrated paintings here, including "The Starry Night" and "Irises"

DAY 6, Tuesday - Cannes, Nice
This morning, depart for the French Riviera. Pass by the Mont St. Victoire and the Abbey of Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume en route to Cannes. Drive along the Boulevard de la Croisette to see the Film Festival Center and the harbor. Later, visit a French perfumery in Grasse before arriving in Nice. Tonight, perhaps join the optional tour to Monte Carlo by night. Drive along the Corniche road to the Principality of Monaco. Stop at the world-famous Monte Carlo Casino. View the route of the Grand Prix, the luxury boats in the harbor and the Prince's Palace, atop the famed "Rock". Enjoy the lights of the coastline on your return to Nice

DAY 7, Wednesday - Full Day in Nice
Spend the day at leisure, or join the optional tour to St. Paul de Vence. Drive into the pine-scented hills above Nice to visit the hilltop St. Paul de Vence, a walled town which still retains its medieval character and is a haven for artists. Wander the cobbled streets to the central fountain, and see the burial place of Marc Chagall. This evening, celebrate your final night in France together with dinner
