| Description | From the Salem Witch Trials to the Headless Horseman, New England is home to some of the nation’s oldest settings and stories. Fact, fiction, and fantastic scenery abound on this vacation to New England and the Hudson Valley. Boston and Lexington’s most significant sights of the American Revolution are balanced with the peaceful vistas of coastal Maine, rural New Hampshire, and mountainous Vermont. Charming seaport villages, bucolic covered bridges, and rolling maple syrup farms sweeten the storylines across America’s historic East Coast. The plot thickens as you ferry across Lake Champlain to immerse yourself in the scene-stealers of New York and Massachusetts, including the lakeside resort of Lake Placid, the picturesque Berkshire Mountains, and the riverbanks dotted with orchards and vineyards of the Hudson Valley. Stand up straight as you visit the waterfront U.S. Military Academy at West Point. You wouldn’t want to miss the spectacular views. |

Day 1: BOSTON

Day 2: BOSTON. EXCURSION TO LEXINGTON AND CONCORD
Revolutionary Roads Visit Lexington, the “birthplace of America.” Afterwards, [LF] lunch at the historic Concord Colonial Inn. Return to Boston for a sightseeing tour with a Local Guide focusing on the city’s most prominent landmarks of the Freedom Trail. Free time this evening to explore Boston’s wealth of museums, galleries, and restaurants. (Breakfast,Lunch)
LOCAL FAVORITE HISTORIC SITE Visit the historic Concord Colonial Inn and enjoy lunch in this legendary hotel. Built in 1716, the inn was used as a storehouse for arms during the Revolutionary War. When the British came to seize and destroy the supplies, the Minutemen met them at the North Bridge on April 19, 1775 for what became the first battle of the American Revolution.TOUR HIGHLIGHTLEGENDARY LIVES Explore Lexington - the location of the first battle of the American Revolution in 1775. In Lexington Common National Historic Site, see Battle Green and the historic Buckman Tavern, used as the headquarters to the militia during the American Revolution. Continue to Concord for the Minute Man National Historic Site, visiting the Old North Bridge, site of the infamous “shot heard round the world.”

Day 3: BOSTON–SALEM–PORTLAND, MAINE
Witchcraft & Watchtowers Travel to Salem, site of the 1692 witch trials. Take a fascinating tour with a Local Guide to hear about the sad fates of those who were persecuted during the Puritan hysteria of the witch hunts. Next, follow the coast into Maine and stop at Cape Neddick’s Nubble Lighthouse. Admired by painters and photographers, it continues aiding mariners by light and horn. Continue to Portland for an orientation tour followed by a [LF] special presentation about the life of Cape Neddick’s Nubble Lighthouse “keeper.” Free time this evening. (Breakfast)

Day 4: PORTLAND–FREEPORT–JACKSON, NEW HAMPSHIRE
Maine Streets & Treats Visit the Casco Bay village of Freeport, home to the legendary L.L. Bean and a thriving culinary and craft beer scene. Enjoy a special regional treat tasting before continuing west into New Hampshire, visiting a picturesque, covered bridge before continuing further into the White Mountains for your overnight stay at the historic Eagle Mountain House. Day 6: FAIRLEE–SHELBURNE–LAKE CHAMPLAIN–LAKE PLACID, NEW YORK
American History & Heritage Visit Shelburne Heritage Park and continue to the shores of Lake Champlain and board a scenic ferry for the crossing into New York. Travel through the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains en-route to the village of Lake Placid, the site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. This evening is free to explore the village or walk along Mirror Lake. (Breakfast)

Day 8: LAKE PLACID–SARATOGA SPRINGS–KINGSTON
New York Treasures Scenic drive through the Adirondack Mountains to Saratoga Springs, a historical and cultural center known for the Saratoga Race Course, horses, and mineral springs. Continue on a scenic drive to Kingston, New York. Enjoy a scenic cruise on the Hudson River passing by stoic lighthouses and stunning waterfront mansions. See the benchmark of Victorian opulence sailing by the Wyndcliff Mansion, Vanderbilt Mansion, and The Rosemont. Dinner tonight at a local restaurant. (Breakfast,Dinner)

Day 9: KINGSTON–WEST POINT–TARRYTOWN
For Love of Country After breakfast, visit the Norman Rockwell Museum. Founded in 1969, this museum has the world's largest and most significant collection of Rockwell drawings and paintings by the legendary American illustrator. Continue south to West Point Military Academy for an exclusive tour with a Local Guide. Continue to the town of Tarrytown, home to the fabled Sleepy Hollow Cemetery made famous by Washington Irving’s short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This afternoon, your Tour Director hosts a special farewell lunch. (Breakfast,Lunch)

Continue to New Jersey where your vacation ends at Newark International Airport or the New York City tour hotel for those with post-nights. Schedule departing flights from Newark after 4 pm. LOCAL FAVORITE LEGENDS & LORE Hear the haunting tale of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman who rides at night to retrieve his head lost in battle with a visit to Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Here, many famed authors are buried, including Washington Irving, the author of the Gothic tale ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,’ set in the Tarrytown’s Dutch countryside.

Day 1 Las Vegas, Death Valley and Bakersfield
In the morning, after a brief orientation with your CEO the group will depart Las Vegas and head to Death Valley. You’ll visit the country's hottest, driest, and lowest national park. Death Valley is a land of extremes and you’ll get a sense of the striking contrast of this park’s landscapes with visits to Furnace Creek, Badwater Basin and Zabriskie Point. Learn about Borax mining and if there's time, stop at the sand dunes. In the evening, settle into your hotel in Bakersfield and get some rest for tomorrow’s adventure.
Day 2 Sequoia National Park
Spend the day travelling to Sequoia National Park, home to granite cliffs and ancient giant trees. Once you arrive, set out on a short afternoon hike to explore and stare up in wonder at the tallest trees in the world. Walk the half mile down to General Sherman to see the world’s largest tree at 83 meters (275 feet) high. Trek through the Giant Forest on Congress Trail to see more of these colossal trees. Later, we head to the hotel in Visalia
Day 3 Sequoia National Park
Immerse yourself in Sequoia with a full day to hike in the park. Visit Grant Grove for more opportunities to marvel at these rare giants among the forest. If you’re looking for 360-degree views head up the 2 mile round-trip Buena Vista Peak trailhead to see the High Sierra and the valley below.
Day 4 Yosemite National Park
Hit the road again and travel north through the Sierras to the south entrance of Yosemite National Park. Head straight into the park to take in iconic sights like Half Dome, El Capitan, and Bridalveil Fall.
Day 5 Yosemite National Park
It’s all about getting active and exploring the landscapes of Yosemite today. From the valley floor, take the park shuttle system to one of the most iconic trails in the park. Hike alongside the Merced River to climb the Mist Trail, getting sprayed by the waters of Vernal Fall. See the water rushing over the edge before crossing the river and climbing the steps to Nevada Fall. From the top enjoy views of the High Sierra including Half Dome, Liberty Cap, and Mount Broderick. Later, enjoy free time to walk the Lower Yosemite Fall Trail, Bridalveil Fall Trail, relax under the towering granite monoliths of Half Dome or El Capitan, or opt to rent bikes and cruise around the valley.
Day 6 Yosemite National Park/San Francisco
Leave Yosemite in the morning and drive across the Central Valley with the group to San Francisco. Join your CEO for a driving tour through some of San Francisco's most iconic highlights. We will drive to the bohemian neighborhood of Haight Ashbury for lunch, followed by a drive through the Golden Gate park. What trip to San Fran would be complete without seeing the Golden Gate Bridge? Depending on time, step foot on this famous red suspension bridge or find a great viewing point to take some photos. There is free time in the evening to explore the colorful Fisherman's wharf.
Day 7 San Francisco
Spend a free morning in the city searching for the best place to have breakfast before departing. The tour ends mid morning.
