Day 2: Arrival in Shanghai

After completing immigration formalities, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the next 3 nights.

Day 3: Shanghai

Join a guided tour discovering the old and the new in China’s liveliest city. The first stop on this tour is the Yu Yuan Garden, a classic creation of the Ming Dynasty, and Shanghai Old street, that originated in the Qing Dynasty. Then, the tour stops at the Bund, on Shanghai's waterfront; once the domain of colonial expatriates, many buildings of the period have been very well preserved. Here you'll enjoy the wonderful view of both sides of the Huangpu River. Followed with a visit to the Shanghai Museum of Ancient Chinese Art with its collection of more than 120,000 precious and rare works in 21 categories. After lunch, drive along the former French Concession and transfer to visit Shanghai Arts and Crafts Store. Then visit the Jade Buddha Temple with its priceless jade statues from Burma. The last stop, Xin Tian Di, is a stylish nightlife district with many boutiques, pubs and restaurants. You will have time on your own there, or could go back to your hotel.

Day 4: Shanghai to Siem Reap

Enjoy some free time in Shanghai before your airport transfer later this afternoon. Fly nonstop to Siem Reap in Cambodia, gateway to the famous Angkor Wat Temples.

Day 5: Angkor Wat

The crown jewel of Khmer architecture, Angkor Wat is the national symbol and the highlight of any visit to Cambodia. The largest, best preserved, and most religiously significant of the Angkor temples, Angkor impresses visitors both by its sheer scale and beautifully proportioned layout, as well as the delicate artistry of its carvings. You will visit this and other temple areas like Angkor Thom with a knowledgeable guide during a private tour. Continue to the famous Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper Kings, former spaces for public ceremonies, both adorned with dramatic bas reliefs. Visit the mysterious Bayon Temple, explore the galleries of beautifully preserved bas reliefs and ascend narrow stairs to reach the central sanctuary, where you will find giant stone faces smiling enigmatically down at you from every angle. Then watch the sun set over the Cambodian countryside.

Day 6: Angkor Wat

As you continue touring this vast temple complex today, you will no doubt appreciate the master craftsmen who planned and built Angkor many centuries ago. Visit Chau Say Tevodas dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu, the Temple of Mirror, and Banteay Kdei Temple surrounded by four concentric walls. Later return to your hotel.

Afterwards driving to the historic center to visit the Emperor of Jade Pagoda, proceed to pay a quick visit to the neo-Romanesque Notre Dame Cathedral and the historic Central Post Office.
