This short tour from the nation’s capital is the perfect brief excursion enabling you to interact with the country's fascinating ethnic hill-tribe people. You can enjoy a homestay in the traditional village of Mai Chau, only three hours from Hanoi, yet light years away. This area is unique, both geographically and in its people. It is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi and we know you will enjoy it immensely.

Itinerary: Mai Chau Valley 2 days

Day 1: Hanoi - Mai Chau

Anyone who is interested in taking the trip to Mai Chau can be transported there by one of our guides. They’ll drive you down highway 6, which goes through lush landscapes and stunning Vietnam views. Guests will even have the option of stopping to visit the Muong tribe. For a great view of the Mai Chau Valley, the Thung Khe Pass will certainly do the job.
Upon arrival you’ll have a Vietnamese lunch with a local resident of the White Thai Tribe. Visitors will also be able to get familiar with other locals. On the hike through the valley and rice fields, you’ll have a firsthand experience of walking through remote villages and discovering the natural beauty of Vietnam. The villages you’ll get to see are Pom Coong and Na Phon. After the hike you’ll be led back to the main village for dinner where you can experience authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Entertainment in the form of dancing and music will takes place in the Longhouse.

Day 2: Mai Chau - Hanoi

Guests will begin the day eating breakfast with the family they’re staying with overnight. The day will be filled with hiking through rice fields and visiting the Cum and Xam Khoe villages. Guests will have the luxury of embracing the culture and having lunch with the locals. The afternoon will be spent driving back to Hanoi where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel.
