Day 1 Check-In, Registration, Orientation, Welcome Dinner Hilton Head Island, SC
Hotel check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Earlier check-in may be available. Please contact the hotel directly.
Program Registration: Front desk staff will direct you to the assigned conference room where Road Scholar staff will greet you warmly. You will receive your welcome packet containing your name-tag and an up-to-date schedule that reflects any last-minute changes. If your arrival is delayed, please ask for your packet when you check in.
Orientation: The Group Leader will welcome everyone and lead introductions. We will review program schedule and any changes, discuss roles and responsibilities, logistics, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer any questions you may have. Continue getting to know your fellow Road Scholars, settle in, and get a good night’s rest for the full day ahead.
At the resort, we’ll enjoy a beautiful plated meal with coffee, tea, iced tea and water; other beverages available for purchase.
Day 2 Welcome to Competetive Pickleball Hilton Head Island, SC
Get ready for a week of exercise, fun and honing your pickleball skills! Today the pros will analyze your game as we get started. Each day will feature stretching before instruction begins. The focus today is on skills, techniques and tactics featuring the no volley zone.
Pro supervised play will be in a format designed for your group.

Each morning at the hotel restaurant, the breakfast buffet will include choices of assorted hot and cold cereals, yogurt, fresh and dried fruit, grits, potatoes, breakfast meats, eggs, assorted breads, pancakes and pastries with juice, coffee, tea and water.
Each day this week options of soups, salads, and sandwiches will be provided for lunch at Big Jim’s at Palmetto Dunes.
This meal has been excluded from the program cost and is on your own to enjoy what you like. The Group Leader will be happy to offer suggestions. There are hundreds of local restaurants to choose from.
Day 3 Five Hours on Court Activity Hilton Head Island, SC
Focus of instruction today will be on the transition zone with shots such as the third shot and volleys.
Supervised play with the opportunity to incorporate lessons from the morning clinic.

Day 4 Morning Clinic & Free Afternoon Hilton Head Island, SC
Pre-play stretch and review any areas of concern from first two clinics. Focus of instruction will be on lob and overhead.
Free Time. Take this opportunity for personal independent exploration to see and do what interests you most. The Group Leader will be happy to offer suggestions. This is your time to enjoy the facilities of the resort or to explore Hilton Head on your own! Perhaps a round of golf or kayaking? You might enjoy some pampering at a spa!

On your own to enjoy what you like.
Day 5 Unforced Errors Hilton Head Island, SC
This is your opportunity to have pros address issues of particular concern. Instruction will be customized to the group’s specific needs.
Finish the week with a round robin competitive format. The techniques emphasized this week will reflect in your play!

At the hotel, we’ll enjoy a delicious plated farewell dinner together with standard beverages. Share your favorite experiences and get ready to bid adieu to new Road Scholar friends tomorrow.
Day 6 Pickleball Professional Q&A, Program Concludes Hilton Head Island, SC
Hotel check-out by 11:00 a.m.
The program will wrap up with a Q & A at the resort with the pickleball staff. This will be the opportunity to refresh yourself on specific points of play or situations you may have encountered during the week. We’ll all leave for home with a new set of skills and new Road Scholar friends! This concludes our program.
