Have you ever thought of enjoying tours in Iguazú Falls and visiting the most romantic city in South America during the same trip? Here we have the best Iguazú Falls trips from Buenos Aires. On this 6-day journey, you will see people dancing true tango (like only Argentines do), and take a trip to Iguazú Falls. Shared by Argentina and Brazil, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a “must-see” during your stay in Argentina.

If you like to travel at your own pace and visit destinations and attractions outside the conventional circuits, the "self-drive" trips are ideal for you, since you will have your own vehicle to travel the routes of the Province of Misiones.

Itinerary: Buenos Aires & Iguazu Falls Trip
Day 1:  Welcome to Your Trip - Buenos Aires

Transfer from the airport to your hotel – Day at leisure
Upon arrival, we will drive you to the city and you’ll have the rest of the day to enjoy Buenos Aires at your own pace. Buenos Aires is a marvelous, energetic, cosmopolitan city, full of color and different styles of architecture.

The capital of Argentina, and described as the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires proudly embraces its title, and also shows off plenty of its own culture! Argentinians are usually eager to host visitors; if you walk the streets with a map, someone will surely stop and ask if you need directions…that’s just our spirit!

Day 2:  City Tour & Tango Show - Buenos Aires

Half-day city tour through Buenos Aires
In the morning we will pick you up from your hotel to enjoy our 5-hour Buenos Aires city tour—you will be swept away by the highlights of our beloved Buenos Aires! On a half-day, you will have the chance to visit the historical and political center of the city; Plaza de Mayo, and the Pink House (the presidential house).

Next, we’ll move on to San Telmo, with its cobblestone streets and the oldest residential neighborhood, and then to La Boca where Buenos Aires turns colorful and tango is ever-present. Walk Caminito Street and dance with the locals. The next stop is the chic and aristocratic Recoleta, where the big palaces remind us why Buenos Aires is called the “Paris of the South”.

Dinner and tango show

In the evening we’ll pick you up from your hotel, in a private service, to take you to a mystical place where you’ll discover one of our most ancient traditions. Tango is more than our national dance… tango is our immigrant origins, our local artists’ talent, Argentine women’s sensuality, and our way of dealing with a broken heart; dancing our way through tragic, yet eternal, love stories.

Tonight you will enjoy a 3-hour professional display of tango and music with a group of local artists onstage immersed in an elegant and alluring place. The manners, ambiance, clothes, and dance steps that tango lovers used to practice 100 years ago will come to life again and you will travel back in time for a night.

This spectacular tango show in Buenos Aires will be accompanied by delicious Argentine and international cuisine. Dinner is all-inclusive, beverages included so you can lose yourself in the ethereal taste of Malbec wine. At the end of the evening, around midnight, you will be driven back to your hotel, in a private service, entirely in love with the bohemian spirit of our incredible city.

Day 3: Iguazú Falls - Brazilian Side

Transfer from your hotel to Buenos Aires airport

It’s time to leave the city and fly to the jungle! At the appropriate time, you will be transferred to the domestic airport to take your flight and travel to Iguazú Falls from Buenos Aires.

The small border town of Puerto Iguazú is the gateway to visit the impressive Iguazú Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site, making it a must-see destination for any traveler visiting Argentina.

Tours to Iguazú Falls, the Brazilian side of Iguazú National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a 3-4 hour excursion to the Brazilian side of the Iguazú Falls. While Argentina has 80% of the falls on its side, Brazil has the best panoramic view. On the Argentinian side, you will have the sensation of being right inside the falls, but only by visiting the Brazilian side, you will fully appreciate the immensity of Iguazú Falls. Take your time to enjoy it and feel it, to stroll the different walkways and feel the spray of water on your face. Take the boardwalk over the Salto Santa María, it feels like walking on the water. Get closer to the “Devil’s Throat” and feel the power of water! We are sure this is a day you will never forget. At the end of the day, we will drive you back to your hotel.

Day 4: Iguazú Falls - Argentine Side

Tours in Iguazú Falls National Park, Argentinian side
Today our driver and bilingual guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the National Park, on the Argentinian side. Enjoy a 7-hour tour wandering through the rainforest!

The falls are surrounded by a humid subtropical forest where the exuberant vegetation is home to many different animals and birds. Our guide will help you spot some of them: antbirds, toucans, manakins, parrots, and coatis, just to name a few of the most common birds. Lower and upper walkways weave in and around falls permitting up close and personal experiences with this magnificent spectacle of nature.

The Argentine side of the falls is filled with a myriad of paths walkways and stairways which allow you to have an experience from many different perspectives. You will have the chance to meet “The Devil’s Throat”: the largest of the falls and for many the most spellbinding. To get to the “Devil’s throat” you take the ecological train and then walk out along boardwalks. After walking and taking pictures of animals and plants, you will have some free time to eat lunch in this amazing environment. At the end of this tour in Iguazú, we will drive you back to your hotel.

Explore the Iguazú National Park in a different way and spend a half-day cycling in the jungle. We’ll pick you up from your hotel very early in the morning and leave the city with a local guide heading to the Yaguareté Trail.

Yaguareté Trail is a part of the Iguazú National Park. The first part of the journey will lead to a magnificent view of the park from the Upper Iguazú River. Also, you will have the possibility to visit a butterfly farm, serpentarium, birds and learn about the flora of the Atlantic Rainforest.

Overnight in Puerto Iguazu.

DAY 2: VISIT TO THE IGUAZU NATIONAL PARK - IGUAZU FALLS - ARGENTINIAN SIDE.

The circuits are:

Upper Walkway: 800 meters of walkways where you can observe the waterfalls from the top of the Dos Hermanas, Bosetti, Bernabé Méndez, M'Bigua and other waterfalls. Duration of the walk one (1) hour.

Lower Walk: Walk 1,600 meters of footbridge, elevated above the surface of the land, having a view from the foot of the falls Dos Hermanas, Alvar Núñez, San Martín, Bosetti, the Peñón de la Bella Vista from where you have a panoramic view of the Devil's Throat and the Canyon of the Lower Iguazú River. The duration of the tour is two (2) hours.

The walk along the footbridges has an extension of 1,200 meters to reach the main balcony and enjoy the most spectacular and most important waterfalls of the Falls, the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat). The duration of the tour is two (2) hours.

Overnight in Puerto Iguazú.

DAY 3: VISIT TO IGUAZU NATIONAL PARK - IGUAZU FALLS - BRASILIAN SIDE.

After breakfast, we recommend you to visit the Brasilian side of Iguazu Falls. This park offers the best views of the falls as it is located in front of the falls on the Argentine side.

The park is located less than 20 KM from the city of Puerto Iguazu. Once you cross the border into Brazil, you arrive at the Visitor's Center and Gateway to the National Park, where you must pay the entrance fee.

A bus takes you through the jungle until you reach the 1200 meter footbridge that leads to the panoramic viewpoints of the different falls.

The visit to this park only takes half a day so, in the afternoon, we recommend the following activities:

*Visit to the Bird Park. City sanctuary of thousands of native birds.

*Helicopter flight over the Iguazu Falls.

*Visit to the Itaipu Dam, considered the greatest masterpiece of hydroelectric engineering shared between Brazil and Paraguay.

Overnight in Puerto Iguazu.

After the first 50 km along RN 12, we recommend you to stop at the Wanda Mines, characteristic for being in the open air, allowing visitors to walk through the caves, observe the semiprecious stones and even watch the exact moment when the operators carry out extractions.

In the Wanda mines amethyst has been discovered, which has an almost purplish color and undergoes a process of incineration turns yellow, giving rise to topaz.

Once the visit is over, you will continue on your way and after 200 km, you will arrive at El Soberbio. There you will be staying in a jungle lodge, where you will be able to enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. Located in the middle of the jungle, it is a unique opportunity to coexist with nature. These lodges are built in a way that does not disturb the environment, respecting the native flora and fauna of the Paraná rainforest.

We recommend spending the afternoon resting and touring around the lodge.

Night in El Soberbio.

DAY 5: MOCONÁ FALLS

After breakfast, a full day of adventure activities awaits you.

You will visit the Moconá Provincial Park, which is located within the Yabotí Biosphere Reserve, one of the largest protected areas in the Province of Misiones.

Recommended Activities:

Nautical tour: nautical excursion of more than 10km along the Yabotí Stream and the Uruguay River. The Moconá Falls are formed by the unevenness in the course of the Uruguay River, so its waterfalls are parallel to the riverbed. They create a corridor of waterfalls almost 3 km long and can reach up to 10 meters high.

The channel where the falls fall is a geographical fault and its depth exceeds 170 meters at some points. The activity lasts approximately one hour.

Hiking in the jungle. Recommended trails: ''Chachí'' 1800 mts (low difficulty), ''La Gruta'' 600 mts, (high difficulty) and the access to the pier Piedra Bugre, 2 km (high difficulty).

Canoeing on the Uruguay River, kayak rental, swimming in the streams and 4x4 crossings.

IMPORTANT: The height of our falls varies from day to day and this factor governs the park and the river walk at the foot of the falls.

Overnight in El Soberbio.

In the heart of the park is the Salto Encantado, a 64-meter high waterfall that plunges through a rocky wall.

At the entrance you will find stalls selling handicrafts, and inside the park, information service, a drugstore with viewpoints and a restaurant.

Once the visit is over, you will continue along the same route to the city of Aristóbulo del Valle (only 10 km from the provincial park).
