Description | Join this cruise aboard Fred. Olsen’s Braemar, where the ship’s smaller size allows you to get closer to five delightfully diverse destinations in Denmark - one of the world’s most welcoming and most fascinating countries. Begin with a call into Aabenraa to enjoy a relaxing day soaking up this charming coastal city’s cosy atmosphere and admiring the fine 13th century architecture. The following morning you’ll arrive at Hundested to a memorable Viking welcome and traditional battle re-enactments on the quayside. Marvel at Kronborg Castle from the comfort of your ship’s decks, as Braemar sails to Rønne, on the beautiful island of Bornholm, with charming cobbled streets and ochre-coloured half-timbered houses. |
Day 1 Southampton
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to Southampton, where our staff will greet you and assist with embarking Braemar (3T+) in preparation for a late evening sailing.
Day 2 At sea
Day 3 Kiel Canal Transit, Germany
We spend today transiting the Kiel Canal, where almost 100km of artificial waterway leads you between the North Sea and the Baltic.
Day 4 Aabenraa, Denmark
An early arrival allows you to head off and discover the wonderfully preserved Aabenraa. Only accessible to smaller-sized cruise ships, it is a renowned bathing resort also home to Brundlund Castle and the impressive St Nikolai Church.
Day 5 Hundested - Cruising by Hamlet's Castle
Today, we combine quaint and picturesque as we sail into Hundested, a tiny town in eastern Denmark with a pretty harbour first built at the end of the 19th century. Located between sea and fjord, it is known for quiet beaches that are perfect to stroll. Later we set sail again and pass Kronborg Castle - world-renowned as Elsinore, the setting for Shakespeare's Hamlet and a beautifully preserved fortress.
Day 6 Rønne
We wake up in today’s port of call, Rønne, the largest town found on Denmark’s rocky island of Bonholm. Explore the charming cobbled streets lined with half-timbered houses and interesting museums.
Day 7 Copenhagen
We dock early for a day in Denmark’s charming capital, Copenhagen. With attractions aplenty, you can embrace the city’s arts and culture, including The Little Mermaid sculpture, Christiansborg and Amalienborg Palaces and Nyhavn, where many brightly-coloured waterfront townhouses have been converted into bars and restaurants.
Day 8 Fredericia
We enjoy an overnight stop in Fredericia, a town founded in 1650 by Frederick III. With a blend of old and new areas of the town, each offers interesting architecture that captures its history from the impressive Prince’s Gate to a grand Foot Soldier statue.
Day 9 Kiel Canal Transit, Germany
Today we head back along the Kiel Canal allowing you to admire the stunning scenery as we leave the Baltic Sea and head for the North Sea for our homeward journey.
Day 10 At sea
Day 11 Southampton
We disembark after breakfast and you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
