Itinerary: Rockies and Alaska Grand Discovery

Day 1 London - Calgary - Banff
Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home, for your journey to London Heathrow Airport and a direct, scheduled Air Canada flight to Calgary. On arrival your coach will be waiting to transfer you to the beautiful city of Banff, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Your hotel for the next three nights is the Caribou Lodge (3T+) or Ptarmigan Inn (3T+).

Day 2 Banff - Lake Louise - Banff
Today we discover the surrounding area of Banff with its rugged beauty, unspoiled landscapes, and pristine mountain ranges. We visit famous Lake Louise, one of the Canadian Rockies most beloved destinations, with turquoise waters sparkling underneath the towering Victoria Glacier. This evening take a stroll down Banff Avenue and soak up the atmosphere of this lovely mountain resort.

Day 3 Banff
A full day to explore Banff at your leisure. Maybe take the gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain for spectacular views and great photo opportunities, or take a helicopter ride for a bird’s eye view of the mountain ranges.

Day 4 Banff - Columbia Icefield - Jasper
Today we travel the Icefield Parkway, considered one of the most scenic highways in the world offering ever-changing scenery of waterfalls, emerald lakes, alpine meadows and snow-capped peaks. We make a stop at the Columbia Icefield, on the boundary of the Banff and Jasper National Parks and board an Ice Explorer that has been specially designed for glacier travel (subject to favourable weather conditions). We continue our journey to Jasper and our hotel, the Chateau Jasper (3T) or Marmot Lodge (3T).

Day 5 Jasper
This morning we discover Jasper National Park with its many iconic landmarks such as Maligne Canyon, the shores of Medicine Lake and one of the most photographed lakes in the world, Maligne Lake. This evening we enjoy an included dinner with an interpretative talk.

Day 6 Jasper - Sun Peaks
Today we drive through the Rockies, past Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, to the alpine Sun Peaks Resort. This popular ski resort is now a summer playground too and a peaceful overnight stop to enjoy the mountain backdrop. Our hotel for the night is the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel (4T).

Day 7 Sun Peaks - Vancouver
An early start today for a long, yet relaxing, journey to Vancouver. On arrival, we transfer to our hotel, the Pinnacle Vancouver Harbourfront (4T), Georgian Court (4T) or Rosedale on Robson Suite Hotel (3T+).

Day 8 Vancouver
A leisurely morning before we transfer to Canada Place to board Holland America’s mid-size, luxury ship, the MS Volendam (4T). As well as unforgettable vistas, wildlife viewing opportunities and Alaskan explorations, you will experience gracious service, exquisite dining, elegantly appointed staterooms and art-filled public rooms. We set sail this evening, passing by British Columbia’s rugged coastline.

Day 9 Inside Passage
The fabled Inside Passage is one of the most scenic sea-lanes in the world, and one of the few where deep-draft vessels can sail close to steep mountain walls. Calm and sheltered, this scenic ‘marine highway’ is cut deeply by fjords and passes by dense forests and snow-capped peaks. As we make our way through the Inside Passage, keep a watchful eye out for the wildlife including seals, whales and bald eagles.

Day 10 Juneau
Today we sail along narrow fjords reminiscent of Norway to reach Juneau, the state capital of Alaska and the gateway to the Tongass National Forest. From the port, you can conveniently explore the compact city centre, or perhaps choose to join a whale-watching trip in the nearby waters.

Day 11 Skagway
An early arrival into Skagway, the starting point for the famed Chilkoot Trail. This compact town still remains rich in gold history and character with its boardwalks, pebble streets and many original buildings.

Day 12 Glacier Bay National Park
We awake to the unforgettable scenery of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Glacier Bay National Park. Glacier Bay has more actively calving tidewater glaciers than anywhere else in the world and is home to huge icebergs and an abundance of birds and wildlife. We depart late afternoon for Ketchikan.

Day 13 Ketchikan
A morning arrival into Ketchikan. Built out over the water and climbing weathered stairways, Ketchikan stretches along a narrow shelf of shoreline beneath the slope of Deer Mountain. The main attractions of this unique town are Creek Street, Totem Bight State Park and Saxman Village.

Day 14 Inside Passage
We travel southwards back through the Inside Passage on your last day. Grab more opportunities of wildlife sightings and your last moments of indulgence on board your luxury vessel.

Day 15 Vancouver
We arrive back into Vancouver this morning and disembark. Our coach awaits to take us on an orientation tour so you can familiarise yourself with this cosmopolitan city. We stay two nights at the Pinnacle Vancouver Harbourfront (4T), Georgian Court (4T) or Rosedale on Robson Suite Hotel (3T+) - please note that this second stay in Vancouver may be at a different hotel. Perhaps join an optional tour this afternoon to Grouse Mountain and Capilano Suspension Bridge, home to the Cliffhanger, a cliffside journey taking you through rainforest vegetation on a series of unobtrusive cantilevered and suspended walkways jutting out from the granite cliff face above Capilano River.

Day 16 Vancouver
Today you are free to explore this coastal city on your own.

Day 17 Vancouver - In flight
Time this morning for some last-minute souvenir shopping or sightseeing before our transfer to Vancouver Airport for a direct, scheduled Air Canada flight to London.

Day 18 London
On arrival at London Heathrow Airport you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
