Content Writing Internship, Fall 2018 - Online Travel

We are the first meta search marketplace for all organized travel, including international guided tours, adventure travel packages, and river cruises. Stride offers thousands of trips from hundreds of tour companies along with real traveler reviews, simple search and comparison tools and rich destination guides so travelers can quickly and easily find their perfect trip.

Stride leadership consists of travel industry and e-commerce veterans based in downtown San Francisco with staff spanning the globe.

Role Summary

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about travel and is looking to gain valuable marketing experience in the tourism space while working with a fun, energetic team across the globe.

This is an internship that focuses on content creation for our travel website. Your role will primarily consist of the following:

-   Write original copy related to iconic itineraries, trips, tours, and destinations

-   Content will relate to travel advice and geographical/cultural knowledge on a given topic

-   Write blog posts about travel-related news, events, promotions, and tips for travelers

-   Assist with strategizing on content marketing/messaging to boost SEO for the site

-   Perform online research to keep up with the latest trends and destination hotspots

Basic Qualifications

The candidate must possess strong written and verbal communications skills. Most importantly, a successful candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit and will display resourcefulness and tenacity. Because this is a unique internship in that it combines travel writing with content marketing, candidates must be able to pick up complex, new skills quickly. Some international travel experience is preferred.

What you will learn and accomplish

A successful candidate will learn best practices techniques and skills to create effective content marketing material. Through the various assignments that the intern will take on, he/she will learn how craft content to engage target audiences using SEO tactics. Last but not least, this internship is ideal for a candidate who wants to develop the skills necessary for a content marketing career in the e-commerce industry.

Logistics

We are flexible on start dates as we realize that schools are on different schedules. Preference would be given to full-time candidates who are willing to commit to a 40-hour week for a minimum of 6 months. However, for the right candidate, part-time (20 hours per week) with a minimum of 1-2 days per week in our downtown office would be acceptable.

Stride works with you to attain course credit when your University supports internships for credit. Additionally, the successful applicant will acquire new & useful skills and have the opportunity to truly influence the direction of an early stage startup.
