Additional Information

This tour package is a combination of multiple day tours from Reykjavík. More information about each day and all activities can be seen in the itinerary.

Golden Circle

The famous Golden Circle has three outstanding natural attractions: Geysir, home to the famous hot spring which gave us the English word ‘Geyser’, see torrents of boiling water being erupted 25 m high! The geologically amazing, Þingvellir National Park, has a dramatic cliff running through it where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates have been moving apart. Iceland´s historic parliament, Alþingi, the oldest still existing parliament in the world, was founded here in 930 CE. Þingvellir is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Finally, Gullfoss waterfall, (the Golden Falls), see the golden hued spray and feel the power as the roaring water crashes through the rugged canyon, dropping 32 m in two stages.

River Rafting

Drumboddstaðir, our comfortable river rafting base is the start point for your exhilarating river rafting trip on the Hvítá (the White River). This river has a perfect blend of beautiful, steep canyons and adrenaline inducing rapids and white water rafting. You will pass through Brúarhlöð, a magnificent canyon where we give you the option of jumping from the cliff into the river. Safety kayakers accompany us and we provide you with a wetsuit, life vest, helmet and a paddle. Our facilities include a sauna, hot showers, refreshments and a bar.

Glacier Hiking and Ice Climbing

You get to go glacier hiking and try ice climbing on the magnificent Sólheimajökull glacier, an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe. We equip you with ice crampons, ice axes, helmets and all of the ice climbing equipment you need for your glacier adventure. Your glacier guide will show you how to use these tools then you are off hiking across the rugged, raw and constantly changing ice wonderland. Learn all about the dramatic sink holes, crevasses and really jagged ice ridges which pepper the glacier, then try your hand at ice climbing.

Snorkeling in Silfra

The unrivaled visibility of Silfra fissure, its unique geological situation and exceptional underwater scenery, has made this a world top 10 dive. The crystal clear glacial water has flowed 50 km through lava all the way from Langjökull glacier. Silfra is actually in the ravine between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. There is nowhere else in the world where you can dive between two continents! We provide a quality drysuit to keep you comfortable in the cool glacial water – one of the most amazing experiences in Iceland.

Lava Caving

Iceland, the land of fire and ice, is one of the most volcanically active places on earth. Those eruptions have formed huge lava fields over the centuries, and sometimes incredible lava tube caves.  Your caving guide will explain the extraordinary and sometimes surprisingly colorful lava structures which were formed when high volumes of fluid lava flowed under lava which was already hardening. Lava tubing will show you a different side of Iceland. Stand in the speleologist’s shoes to explore the magnificent formations nature has left for us to enjoy.

Hot Spring Hunt

An exciting hot spring hunt will take you on a trail through the Reykjadalur Valley at Hveragerði. Hiking through spectacular mountain vistas, the steam wafting from multiple hot springs will give the landscapes a dreamy quality. Along the way you will see every type of hot spring that Iceland has to offer, your hiking guide will tell you all about them. You will come to a natural hot spring river where you can bathe surrounded by the peace of nature.

The Icelandic horse

Riding the unique Icelandic horse is an Iceland experience no one should miss. The Icelandic horse is world famous for its unique five gaits, especially the smooth gait, tölt. The breed has been pure for over a thousand years making it one of the purest breeds in the world. These horses were brought to Iceland when the country was settled in the 9th century, it was the only means of transport across the rugged Icelandic terrain. Horseback riding in Iceland is unique and special!

Blue Lagoon

The iconic Blue Lagoon is one of the first places which comes to mind when people think about Iceland. Being located so perfectly, in the middle of a lava field in between the airport and the capital, it kind of is a must-see for anyone traveling to Iceland. The Blue Lagoon’s water is natural, pumped up through the ground where it has been heated by the hot lava flowing underneath the surface. It is rich in minerals like silica, which will leave your skin smooth and soft and is actually known to have healing powers for psoriasis and eczema. Doctors in Iceland write prescriptions for people to go to the lagoon. Soak in this magical lagoon in the most amazing Icelandic lava scenery. You will not be disappointed.
