Optional Activities
Half Day Bethlehem 9:00 AM On this excursion, you will leave the State of Israel and cross the border to the Palestinian Authority. You will leave your Israeli guide and driver on the Israeli side, and upon arriving into the West Bank, you will be met by your Palestinian tour guide who will accompany you on this tour to Bethlehem. Large groups will necessarily split into smaller groups utilizing local shuttle buses, which will take you to visit the Church of the Nativity, commemorating the birthplace of Jesus Christ, with many restoration projects instituted throughout the years. The facade of the Church of the Nativity is encircled by the high walls of the three convents: the Franciscan on the northeast side, and the Greek Orthodox and the Armenian Orthodox on the southeast side. A shopping stop for local souvenirs and olive wood handicrafts, a principal source of local income, is included in the tour. Please note that Bethlehem is located six miles south of Jerusalem in the West Bank and governed by the Palestinian National Authority. Due to the popularity of the Church, long lines are common and wait time may vary. Approximate tour duration is 3 hours. OnDay : 4 Price : $39 Full Day Biblical Highlights of Galilee: Nazareth & Sea of Galilee 6:00 AM Depart Tel Aviv via the coastal road and travel through the verdant landscape of the lower Galilee to the sacred town of Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood. Visit the Church of Annunciation and the Church of St. Joseph. Continue, via Kana, to Tiberias, the lovely resort town on the Sea of Galilee. Drive along Kineret Lake to visit Capernaum and view the ruins of the ancient synagogue where Jesus taught. Continue to Tabgha, the site of the Miracle of Fish and Loaves located at the foot of the Golan Heights. Proceed to Yardenit, the famous Baptismal Site, located where the Jordan River flows out of the Sea of Galilee towards the Dead Sea. Return back to Tel Aviv. Modest dress (no shorts, or sleeveless shirts) and head covering are required for visiting holy sites. Approximate tour duration is 11 hours. OnDay : 5 Price : $89 Full Day Masada & Dead Sea 9:00 AM This morning, travel via the Judean Hills to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth. Visit a Dead Sea cosmetic products shop. Then, continue along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada, the last stronghold of the Zealots in their struggle against the Romans. You'll be transported back in time to the days of King Herod on this fabled mountaintop, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the remains of the walls, palace, synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors and roman baths, once part of this ancient city. Descend by cable car and travel to the Dead Sea. Enjoy the unique opportunity to float in the buoyant waters of the Dead Sea and cover yourself with the mineral rich mud, that many believe has therapeutic effects. Approximate tour duration is 11 hours. OnDay : 6 Price : $108 Half Day Jerusalem Old City 9:00 AM Morning drive to Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the city. Stop at Mount Zion to visit King David's Tomb, Room of Last Supper and the Dormition Abbey. Enter the walled Old City and walk through the Armenian and Jewish Quarters to the recently excavated and restored Cardo, the Roman Road. View the Jewish Wailing Wall (the Kotel), the only remaining remnant of the Second Temple and continue to the Christian Quarter. Stroll along the Via Dolorosa and visit the church of Holy Sepulchre. The tour ends around 1:30 PM in the Old City. Transfer to hotel on your own. Modest dress (no shorts or sleeveless shirts) and head covering are required for visiting holy sites. Approximate tour duration is 6 hours. OnDay : 3 Price : $49
