How We Work
We know best how to match travelers up with the very best accommodations that suit their budget. BUT that is only one part of the equation. It’s the little details (things that many travelers don’t even know are possible) that we are great at including in our travelers’ trips. We don’t usually give out our little secrets, but to give you a sneak peak of what we may offer – a private dinner on a barge in the middle of the Zambezi River is one of our all-time favorites. But no more said on this now as we rather not spoil what we love to do for you!
Our First Phone Call
We always start with a phone call and a blank slate. The goal of our first conversation is to get to know you. We will ask you questions about your travel style, where you have travelled in the past, your specific interests and your intended budget for your safari. After we have worked through this process we will both have a better idea if we are a good fit.
Getting Down to Business
At this stage we find out if you have a specific trip you are interested in and set travel dates. We offer our advice on the best locations depending on when you are planning to go, the best months to travel, and continue to narrow down your options to specific areas and dates. At this point, if you decide you would like us to plan your trip, we then proceed with obtaining more specific information and collect an upfront non-refundable deposit of USD $200* which will be applied towards your trip.

A comprehensive travel insurance policy for each traveler in your group is highly recommended. We recommend 100% cancellation coverage and a minimum $25,000 benefit per person for medical insurance. Medical evacuation insurance is required in most destinations. Once your trip is confirmed, we will send you a travel insurance quote. Please note that we need your Registration Confirmation form(s), signed Terms and Conditions, and deposit to generate your travel insurance quote. Travelers with a pre-existing condition must obtain coverage within 15 days of paying a trip deposit in order to secure coverage for their condition. The provider we work with is Travel Guard. Rothschild Safaris strongly suggests a comprehensive travel protection plan prior to traveling. At minimum, Rothschild Safaris requires each traveler to purchase an Emergency Medical Evacuation plan.
