Itinerary
The tour begins today with the departure of the Sunbird group from London. Participants traveling independently to Goa should arrive no later than this evening (see Note **, below).
The group from London arrives early this morning and we’ll drives north to our hotel in Baga, northern Goa, which will be our base for the next two weeks. After a break, we’ll offer afternoon birding close to our hotel. Here birds should include the ever-present Brahminy and Black Kites, Indian Pond Herons, Eastern Cattle Egrets, Indian Rollers and Black Drongos. Night in Baga, northern Goa.
We’ll spend numerous enjoyable days getting to know Goa and its birds. Good birding starts within the hotel compound where numerous large trees at the rear attract a variety of birds. In fact, it should be possible to see well over 100 species within walking distance ...
The tour will conclude in Goa this evening in time to connect with international flights home.

Tour Operator
We began in 1973 when Davis Finch and Will Russell formed Northeast Birding, an organization offering tours under their own leadership to the northeastern United States and adjacent Canada. After some exploratory ventures, our program was gradually enlarged to include tours to Alaska, Mexico, Central and South America, Europe, and Asia. Rich Stallcup joined the company in 1977, giving us broader knowledge and better geographical balance, and the range of our tours continued to expand.
Our tours are planned as ones that we ourselves would like to go on, so they are very strongly oriented toward birds. All WINGS leaders have varied interests in natural history and other related fields, but the timing and itinerary of our tours is dictated almost entirely by ornithological considerations. A few tours combine serious birdwatching with other activities appropriate to the area, or even with simple relaxation, and these are clearly indicated.
