Highlights of Japan by Explore!
Highlights of Japan
OK only downside I will say I don't feel I had enough time in Tokyo due to some people missing there fights and losing very important tickets for travelling which explore leader had to sort out. The itinerary needs to be updated ie mentioning catching bullet train to airport which few people had issues with but I think is actually easier

Japan Unrivalled by Contiki
Japan Unrivalled
I had the best time on this trip! It was my first ever international solo trip, contiki made it super easy to just sit back and relax. I was super grateful that my roomie & I got along so well, our tour group was fab. So many beautiful places to visit in Japan, getting to wear a Kimino and seeing the cherry blossoms was the highlight for me. I just wish the tour was longer. We could have used with a bit more free time, having the days feel less packed/rushed if each location could potentially have a 2nd/3rd day it would have been awesome. I went up 2 days prior and stayed back 6 days after, I’d recommend doing something similar so you can do and see the things that you want that aren’t included on the tour. Trip manager was awesome, super knowledgeable

Classic Japan by Trafalgar
Classic Japan
Couldn't give 5 stars since:
Hotels were good but our rooms were very small. I'm guessing we got the lowest priced rooms in the hotels. 2 had AC problems. Bfasts were good.
Much too little time spent in Tokyo--don't feel we know it at all
Bus to Mt. Fuji took far too long and seeing the sulfur spouts was a waste.. Suggest going half way to see Fuji from a distance and then doing something else. Spent 5 hours in the bus that day.
Visit to the 50 story tower in Osaka to see the view wasn't worth much.

Special events were great: drum session, making Japanese donuts, tea plantation visit, ceramics studio visit was too long

Japan in a Week by Contiki
Japan In A Week
The trip itself was good, as I said before, there is a LOT of free time and for me personally, I booked with contiki so I didn’t have to think about activities and places to go myself. You’re just given a very long list of recommendations on the day of and personally I just didn’t want to have to think about any of it myself. This trip has a lot of trains and public transport which is fine but more than half the group got lost on more than one occasion. There was also less group activities to get to know the other travellers and I found it became cliquey very fast. But if you are unsure about what you want to do in Japan and just want to see the basics then this tour will do that just be aware you will still have to organise a lot of things on the go.
