Hiking the mountains in Torres Del Pain National Park

Best Things to Do in Torres Del Paine National Park

Iconic Attractions & Hidden Gem Travel Experiences

Torres Del Paine National Park

In Chilean Patagonia is an other worldly landscape of ice fields, rocky cliffs, and granite peaks. This is Torres Del Paine National Park, which is one of the most popular attractions for visitors to Chile. With diverse wildlife, multiple hiking trails, and countless opportunities for incredible photos, it's any outdoor enthusiasts dream.

Top Torres Del Paine National Park Experiences

Trek the spectacular French Valley, which extends from the Paine Grande to Torres del Paine and Los Cuernos mountains. It’s a full day of glaciers, valleys and waterscapes.

Try ice hiking on the Grey Glacier. Start with a Zodiac boat ride to the western arm of the glacier, then get ready to discover icy blue crevasses and mystical ice caves.

Now that you’ve hiked Grey, see it up close by kayak. There’s nothing quite like maneuvering your safe, small kayak amidst massive icebergs and right up to the face of the glacier.

Horseback ride with a gaucho (traditional horsemen) through the park and its vast pampas, covering more ground as you pass by traditional estancias (ranches). (You’ll also conserve your hiking energy for another day of trekking.)

You came this far, so it’s only natural to tackle the hike to the base of the Towers. Plan for 8-10 hours and get ready for a mind-blowingly majestic view of the iconic peaks and turquoise lake.

Stand at the precipice of the Salto Grande waterfall, but get ready for unusually strong winds, a unique feature of the picturesque falls on the Paine River.

Track the elusive puma, which thrives here in Torres del Paine thanks to a ban of hunting and the abundance of fresh guanaco. Check in with your tour company about visiting the eastern area of the park, where the experts will know just where to look to glimpse these secretive big cats.

Fish for trout and salmon in the beautiful blue and green lakes and fast-flowing, glacially fed rivers. Your Torres del Paine tour company can arrange everything from half-day to multi-day fishing excursions to angle for brown, brook and rainbow trout and even the mighty chinook salmon.

guide Sites are amazing, but tour ruins it
This tour has amazing sites, good hotels in great locations, great pace BUT the tour director that was assigned to be with our small group added nothing to the experience. He did not give us any info, tell us about what we were seeing, give us any info at all. The only time he talked was to tell us when the next bathroom break would be. Apparently this is common for Globus to use retirees starting another chapter. Our guide was 76 and had no energy. Travel with Gate 1 or Intreped.... guides can make or break a tour.

This travel experience exceeded my expectations!
This travel experience exceeded my expectations! I would recommend Say Hueque to family & friends
Our designated travel advisor understood our preferences well and put together a very good trip. We asked Micaela a lot of questions in arranging and being flexible to curate a trip package that deviated from the 16-day trip listed. Julieta and her customer relations team - Mariana, and Jóse, were very helpful.

Thank you so much for your assistance!

Amazing 23 days in Argentina and Chile including 2 half days in Uruguay and Brazil
We just returned from a wonderful trip to Patagonia and Iguazu Falls. We worked with Qwerty to plan an amazing trip to Patagonia. Constance Abad was very helpful and patient with us promptly answering our many questions. We researched where we wanted to go then discussed it with her over a phone call and multiple emails/messages. She inquired about what we look for in our travels and offered great suggestions based on our interests and her extensive knowledge of the area. She then booked all our domestic flights, hotels, transfers, excursions so we did not have to worry about any logistics. We spent a total of 23 days in the following cities: Buenos Aires (Argentina), Colonia(Uruguay), Iguazu (Brazil), Iguazu(AR), Ushuia(AR), El Calafate(AR), El Chalten(AR), Puerto Natales(Chile), Punta Arena(Chile), Santigao (Chile). Her planning was impeccable. All drivers showed up promptly on time or alerted us ahead of time of any potential delays (a rare occurence). They all spoke english or had a guide who did. Loved all the planned excursions (bilingual) . All went according to plan except for weather. Visibility was low in a couple of picturesque places unfortunately, but weather in Patagonia is unpredictable at best. We did luck out with nice weather for most of the trip. I highly recommend Qwerty and independent travel. I think it is much better than traveling with the same group on a long trip as (1) you get to customize the trip into exactly what you want to see, (2) you meet a lot of interesting people as you join a different group on every new excursions. I suggest building in a free day or two in each city to visit last minute places/restaurants others might recommend to you that were not on your list. We enjoyed our free time hiking or visiting places we found last minutes or taking an optional excursion we booked on our own or asked Qwerty to book for us last minute. Constance has a wide network of partners all over South America and can make things happen quickly. She was truly wonderful. It was a great feeling to know that we have someone we could contact any time for questions or help during our trip. I feel this is very important when visiting a foreign country especially when you don't speak the language. All in all: amazing trip, amazing planning, amazing memories...

Torres del Paine is astonishing, and I'm glad my partner and I were able to complete the W trek with full support to be able to enjoy the environment as much as possible

There were some logistical issues at the beginning of the trek; however, the local partner was able to resolve the issues after we finished the trek
