What's this trip about?

July to September is one of the most exciting months of the great migration as the herds move further into the Northern Serengeti and toward the Mara River. At this time of year, you can witness thousands of wildebeest battling their way through the waters and trying to avoid the crocodiles. The best place to be is in the Northern Serengeti or across the river in the western part of the Maasai Mara. Olakira once again is a good option (having moved from the Southern Serengeti) May the Serengeti wildebeest all seem to be moving north, migrating to seek fresh grazing and water. The area around Moru Kopjes and west of Seronera is then hectic with a series of moving columns, often containing hundreds of thousands of animals- joined by many zebra, and a scattering of Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles. Some of the migration then head due north of Seronera, but most are usually further west. Around June the wildebeest migration is often halted on the south side of the Grumeti River, which has some channels which block or slow their migration north.

Tanzania has seven official World Heritage Sites and Expect In Africa Safari will take you there on Teeming with diverse wildlife and a spectacular sight. Serengeti is the breathtaking outback venue of the annual migration of millions of wildebeest combined with an evolutionary trip to Olduvai Gorge, Laetoli and the Kondoa Rock Art Cave Sites takes you back to your human origins. Unspoiled remote wildernesses, home to thousands of elephants and bovines, and packs of rare African wild dogs and other diverse predators. Lake Tanganyika is among the most beautiful lakes in the world. Lake Manyara was a personal favorite of Ernest Hemingway. Climb the Kilimanjaro on an uphill strenuous stroll, the highest mountain in Africa, shining in the morning sun above a pedestal of cloud. Trek past its glaciers to the highest peak, or peer into the magma pits of the Mountain of God – Ol Doinyo Lengai by Lake Natron. Silver beaches and limpid seas set off the wonderful Swahili architecture of Stone Town in Zanzibar, important as a significant trading port, a heady blend of cultures and focus of the abolition of slavery. Combine Zanzibar with a history trip to Bagamoyo or even Kilwa to see the ruins of Kisiwani and Songo Mnara. Thereafter, head off to the private island of Fanjove or Lazy Lagoon for an unadulterated beach escape. Find all the fascination of African travel in the inimitable richness of Tanzania.

An authentic and discerning tour of Tanzania with Expect In Africa Safari, providing outstanding examples of sustainable tourism in a country with unbeatable natural resources. Accommodation

,Rivertrees Inn Lodge Because Rivertrees grew in stages, each cottage was designed with individual thought and care, and furnished with unique attention. The inn’s design makes the most of the riverine nooks and bends, and clearings in leafy groves, to grant each dwelling its own sense of privacy and peace. The restaurant makes for a relaxing setting for a book and a coffee, or a garden-fresh meal in the sunshine. Winding pathways weave a lazy loop through the spacious grounds, and reveal a sparkling swimming pool and a massage hut for those that enjoy surrendering to relaxation. River Cottage Snugly set in forested thickets and perched high on the riverbank, two spacious cottages are designed to complement the privacy and seclusion of their natural element. A terrace opening onto the forest and the outdoor rain showers invite inhabitants to soak in the beauty of their surrounds, and to appreciate the wildlife animating the canopy overhead. Tloma Lodge has been built on the foothills of the highlands of Ngorongoro, a small and exclusive lodge with 24 small cottages built in colonial style and 12 rooms overlooking the garden in the main building. The design of the entire complex looks to create an atmosphere evoking the colonial plantations and farms described in many books and films. The excellent location of Tloma on the top of a valley offers fantastic views over a coffee plantation and the walls of the Ngorongoro cráter which can be enjoyed from the private terraces of the rooms.. The gardens, full of flowers and bushes, are particularly attractive, although guests find it difficult to choose between a walk around the gardens or relax around the heated pool. Kenzan Mara Tented Camp Mobile Tented camps located in the heart of African wilderness gives you endless opportunities to uncover and explore rare beauty. The best of facilities in our tents, expert chefs preparing the ultimate gourmet feasts, lush green landscapes and rich cultures are only few of the many highlights of this incomparably fantastic voyage
